Target Optical

Dr. Mai Tang is great & the staff was as well. However I only came here because of the reviews & they were the only ones open for an eye exam on my only day available. Paying for the glasses was not an issue, I needed them as soon as possible.
I was going to go to lens crafters so I can receive my glasses the same way however the representative informed me the it takes 7 – 10 business days and I will be saving $$. I informed her that $ was not the issue due to my busy schedule & needing my glasses to better perform my daily tasks at work/​school. I even offered to pay more for delivery if need. I was told that they can put a request for the glasses to be a priority at no cost and there has been many deliveries that come before the 7^th day.
After I did the math I would be saving $ 150.00. I ordered my glasses & they were made aware I am very busy & she advised me to call in so I can get an estimate on when my glasses would arrive. when I called on 11÷20÷15 I was told they are to be delivered & received by the store 11÷25÷15. I informed them that this order was a priority order & was told that there is no guarantee. (had I known that from the get go I would of left)
I changed my schedule around in order to be able to pick up my glasses & when I called they had not received my glasses. Then I was told that it takes 7 – 14 business days. I informed her I was never given the correct amount of business days. I definitely will not be coming here again. I felt that I was given false information in order for them to make a sale. I rather have gone to lenscrafters & paid more to have my order ready right away since I need it daily.
If you need your glasses right away do not come here. Their time frame was not accurate & I didn’t receive any accommodation or a simple apology for the incorrect information I was given.

Great customer service!!! I don’t get eye exams here — just my contacts and glasses. They treat me like a valued customer, go out of their way to make sure my order is right, etc. They are helpful with sharing info on available discounts, difference between lenses, frames, etc.

Excellent customer service! Great selection of glasses ~ the exam was very thorough and professional. I didn’t feel the pressure to buy expensive eyewear after like I’ve felt at various optometrist’s offices in Long Beach. I think that’s how these private practices make most of their money. Target Optical is not like that. Try it out, the exam and the eyewear purchase. They have a good return policy and are really «customer» centered. I’ve been going there now for 2 years.

I just happened to stroll in because my glasses broke… Again. I spent well over $ 600 on a pair at LensCrafters and didn’t want to spend so much for a pretty bad pair of glasses.
So glad I went to Target! Even though it’s a chain, the employees were all very friendly and helpful. TJ, the sales person, was very calm and patient even though it’s such a pain to choose the right frames. He was very clear on everything that was priced from the anti-​glare in the sunglasses to the extra protection cost for replacement.
Dr. Mai Tang was also very kind and I felt like she was looking out for me. She found a little issue from the dilation and decided to take pictures to show me a possibility for an issue later in life. She even helped me book an appointment for a specialist.
I definitely recommend this place. Worth the money and worth the time!

Great selection of frames, works with most insurance plans, efficient lab/​all 3 of my orders arrived early, friendliest staff, patient and understanding optometrists, all in all 100% positive experience. I had to make an exchange (prescription wasn’t quite right — not their error!!!) and now I’m just waiting on my new lenses to come in. So far I love everything about this place.

I came to this target optical because I’m addicted to target and also I needed my first pair of glasses. Not only was the quote over the phone for lenses way less than Lens Crafters, I was blown away by the service in person.
The two sales people were so friendly and still kept the balance of giving me plenty of space to try on 800 frames. When I came back to pick up my glasses they remembered who I was by name before I even said what I was there for. There was no icky commission vibe, just friendly people who seem to like their job.
The doctor was so cute and had the sweetest personality it made the whole exam situation a pleasure. I had to come back because I think the initial prescription was too strong. Even that whole part was super easy and no hassle or extra $.
Great price and amazing customer service. I almost didn’t want to leave because the staff was so cool. :)

Just moved into the area and figured that optometrist in a Target would be killing two birds with one stone and I am so glad I took the chance!
Dr. Tang was absolutely amazing! Super friendly and very knowledgeable. I felt completely comfortable and taken care of while getting a new prescription for both glasses and contacts.
After the appointment, I went next store to pick my new frames and was helped by Marc. He is absolutely amazing and knew how to find the right frames to not only look good on me, but fit my budget. I don’t normally get excited about new glasses, but I can’t wait to get these!
Overall I am overwhelmingly pleased with my visit and will for sure be coming back!

I must say I was completely surprised by the quality of attention I received. Dr. Mai Tang served me and gave me a thorough exam, informed me of my condition and made some outstanding recommendations.
I incorrectly thought because it was a Target location I would probably get a pedestrian service but I trusted the previous reviews and took a chance and I’m glad I did. Now there is politics involved with eye glass frames and 90% of them are owned by one giant conglomerate who set those high prices so I can’t really blame Target. That being said, their frames are about $ 30-​$ 50 less than my regular OD. Additionally, since the clerk assistants aren’t paid to up sell you, there is no pressure for the add-​ons like poly carbonate etc. They could care less, they just want you to be happy with your order and that attitude coupled with Dr. Tang will keep me coming back.

Made a same-​day evening appointment, and was helped right away upon arrival. Filled out a short questionnaire on the computer and was seen by the doctor.
She was super thorough and helpful in answering my questions. She made suggestions and the glasses exam was relatively quick, although I never felt rushed.
I was ushered into the area with all the glasses and was told to feel free to look around, as the only worker was busy with other customers. Fine by me because I’m indecisive and don’t want someone staring at me while I try on a million pairs of glasses.
Once helped (not long after), she was very nice but honest with her opinion on certain frames, and made it a point to tell me not to rush on a decision (even though it was near closing time). Now I wait for my new super cute Armani Exchange glasses. Hoping they won’t take the 10 days to arrive as I was quoted, but I won’t be too upset if they do. Can’t rush perfection!
Overall, a definite 5 star experience at Target Optical.
Update: Glasses were ready within 2 business days! Ordered them Friday night and got a call on Tuesday afternoon to pick them up. Sweet!

Fabulous experience at Target Optical in Seal Beach! Dr. Kelly Tea was so kind, patient and professional. Numerous times I came back for her to get my new contact prescription just right. She did an amazing job working with me on my difficult vision issue. The ladies in the front office were always considerate and on task. Loved my experience as did my husband. Would highly recommend them.

I was just there on Saturday and again last night and this place is awesome! I had a ridiculous amount of fun, being that I got glasses/​contacts.
Marc is H-​EYE-​LARIOUS! He helped me pick out frames and trained me on how to poke my eyeball for contacts and he’s just awesome! The girls are too, but he was the one helping me so it was fun. Everyone there is very personable and totally honest. I never felt rushed or like I was being annoying. I called to reschedule my appointment like 4x before actually going in and no one ever made me feel lame because of it even though I know that’s pretty bad.
Also, Dr. T. is the best eye Dr. I have ever been to! She is super funny and sassy and everything was so easy. I LOVE IT THERE!
The only negative thing I have to say is when it was time to pay for my glasses no one ever told me that all the extras the Dr. recommended were extra charges and how much. I didn’t know to ask or any of that because this was pretty much my first time buying glasses for everyday use. So it would have been nice to have someone break it down for me. To their credit though, I didn’t ask and I’m sure if I had someone would have explained it. It may just have been the assumption the Dr. had shared all that info with me. Whatever the case I’m sure it wasn’t out of malice but ask before you buy!
Everything else was amazing, they have a good selection and it’s the best experience you will have at an eye dr. promise!
There are two Dr.‘s there, make sure you ask for the funny one I think it’s Dr. T. The other lady is nice too but Dr. T is the best and will make it more enjoyable.

I was skeptical, but both the eye doctor and the girl who helped me pick out my glasses were super friendly and helpful and this was my best experience getting and exam and getting new glasses ever. I saw Dr. Ngo and she was nice and professional and didn’t rush through or anything.
I forget the name of the girl who helped me with my frames but she was the best! She was extra-​patient and really knowledgeable about all the frames – not just about styles, but about functionality and features of the frames too. She listened patiently to my likes/​dislikes about my current glasses and helped me get the perfect new pair. I’m usually the sort of person who want sales-​people to just leave me alone, but I’m so glad that the girl was there to help since she knew all the glasses inside and out.
Target Optical itself has a 90-​day return policy on your new glasses, so if you don’t like them for whatever reason, you can exchange for an equally priced new pair.
They also take AAA discounts, so I got a few bucks off my exam (I think it was 49 dollars) and I got 33% off my lenses and frames.

So, who knew Target had an optical department? Apparently they have a fabulous one at Seal Beach.
I went in for some last effort repair work on my old frames. While I was waitin for the heroic Tom to see if he could fix them, I discovered they have the best selection of frames I’ve seen (better than local offices and LC’s).
Their prices are comparable an they offer a nice AAA discount, and run regular specials.
Best of all, Tom was friendly, professional and super helpful!
And because he fixedy frames for free, guess where I’m going when I need my next pair? Target Seal Beach.
