happy hour food: chicken sandwich and waffle fries. the fries are awesome. somehow things wafflized are better. it adds a layer of crisp. the sandwich was a bit disappointing and i was in starving mode. ***3/5 service: service was good. very dive bar ish. we were the only table there and not much going on. you order at the front and they deliver. ***4/5 value: waffle fries were awesome and would gladly order that again. the sandwich is expensive for what it is. ***3/5

Being new to the city in a tangle of yoga stretch battles, lattes galore and condo warming parties I can get pretty competitive with this luxurious Seattle lifestyle. And you really can’t beat the housing prices it’s perfection here! If this was like my second favorite show I would be the queen bee of amazon condo wives of Seattle! This truly is the emerald city although I will say I’m still seeing a few stragglers that are ruining our new cities image, and we really need to figure out how to fix this rain problem. Oh golly I’m ranting. I’m always first to find new kooky place for our gals and pals weekly cocktail crawl. We get alittle tipsy hehe. We’re so naughty. I put on my best«grunge?» outfit my Eddie Bauer flannel, totally did the trick. I cautiously entered a bar called Bar Sue. It’s was quaint and I felt alittle un easy. I heard of the violence and characters in this neighborhood can get alittle unruly. I was immediately blown away and felt safer than a bug in a rug to discover my favorite detective Elliot Stabler from law and order behind the bar! He must have been under cover and he sure was a professional. He even put on too many temporary tattoos and had the coolest bad boy image. He said his name was Zak! Z-A-K. How exotic! I ordered a triple grey goose dry but not too dry three and a half olives slightly stirred the shaken twice martini. What a pro he didn’t flinch or drop his cover and made it to perfection. My ladies are going to faint when they see him and this place. Good think he’ll be there to catch us.

I’m a big fan of their jagermeister. Not a fan of taking my shirt off, losing my coat, and getting kicked out.

I went in on a Saturday night at 6:30. It was very chill and the staff was really friendly and knowledgeable about whiskies(great selection, including tons of cask releases from Westland). I had a ‘tap’ cocktail with whiskey, Fernet Branca, and cold brew that was really tasty. The bar filled up by 8. Bill & Ted were on the projector. Great happy hour! I want to go back to try their smoked Negroni. Food was available from a self serve window on the side. I didn’t try anything but it smelled really yummy whenever something came out. Clientele was well-behaved 30 – 40 year-olds. Staff was polite and communicative when there was a wait for cocktails.

Yet another faux dive bar trying too hard to be cool. Drinks were mediocre, food was better. Typical new Cap Hill crowd. Good as a last resort.

I’ve been going to Bar Sue for over a year, well before their recent kitchen remodel. I was hooked on their fried chicken sandwich. I stopped by last night for another and see how the new food counter was. The sandwich has changed!!! and not in a good way. Now they use thigh meat, where as before it was breast meat. The bun /bread is different too. That was actually a pleasant change. Now you can actually bite where the previous bun was super thick. Fries are also sold separately from the sandwiches now too. The orders are big, split them. I’m going to miss the old sandwich.

This is a pretty good low-key spot where talking is possible and there isn’t too much of a crowd. They do have a large screen that plays netflix off a laptop that’s stashed away somewhere; it’s cool but if you’re on a date or even with friends be careful not to let the eyes divert! There’s a food window, that is separate from the bar. and the bar is self-serve. They have no flavored alcohols there but they have some mighty fine mixed drinks. I believe that I quite like this spot.

Please someone shut this place down. Karaōke on Sunday night? Really? Some of us who live nearby have jobs and need to sleep. Put in an air conditioner and shut the window, for the love of God. And the hush puppies aren’t that great.

Just an average, comfortable bar. I liked that they were playing Fargo on a projector screen with subtitles. Very fun. Nice bar staff. Went on a weeknight and there were still people there, but not crowded.

The bar doesn’t look like much from the street but has a nice vibe inside. We just came here for drinks and they were good. I had a rye old fashioned and my wife had a cosmopolitan. Both were nice and strong drinks.

Motown Mondays! Bar Sue is a hidden gem, so I am semi-reluctant to write this review. Since it is owned by locals, I decided I would share my love for it. Cocktails are great, happy hour deals are good, service is good. House-infused alcohol? Homemade fireball?! Cocktails are inventive and delicious. Try the food! I make the mistake of refraining from eating where I drink quite often, but make sure you don’t do that at Bar Sue. The chicken sandwich is delicious, as are the bacon cheddar jalapeño fries. I love the antler ring toss and décor, too.

I like the overall ambiance. We were there on a Wednesday night and there were plenty of spots to stand, sit, mingle, drink… or what have you. One bartender was pretty pleasant and the other was kind of rude. The rude one actually made me the worst vodka/soda I’ve ever had. I almost wanted to ask if it was vodka or toilet water in there. Speaking of toilets… the bathrooms were totally decent, especially for a bar. I’d go again!

Bar Sue you did not disappoint! Being a southern gal myself from Alabama, I have had you guys on my list to visit for a while now. All I can say is bravo! I had the fried chicken sandwich with fries and oh my lord, yum! The fried chicken was done just right and so juicy and tender when you bit into it, divine! I was here during happy hour and all sandwiches are half off! I also tried the hush puppies my friend ordered and again I was in heaven. I sat at the bar and the bartender was very attentive despite it being busy(of course) during happy hour on Friday. He suggested a beer on tap for me that I enjoyed and had two of. Very cool place with an almost Southern trendy dive bar feel to it. Highly recommended. I will be back!

This is everything I want in a bar. Bartenders are great(see: not pretentious) Food is delicious(see: fried chicken sandwich) Drinks are cheap(see: $ 2 whiskey at hh) You can watch a game(see: projector screen) You can not watch a game(see: only 1.5TV’s) I love it!
