I’ve always had good service here.
I do have a recommendation, while I understand upgrading the lobby takes money it really wouldn’t cost anything (and it’d enhance the place) if you removed those old stuffed dolls. They’re falling apart and are simply creepy.

I just wanted to give these guys a nice review because they made my day. I’ve never really had a good experience at a licensing office before, but BPLA was great. The staff were very friendly and polite, I didn’t wait in any kind of line, and both of the things I came in for were correctly completed in only a few minutes. It was the opposite of going to the DOL. I drove all the way out from Magnolia based on their Unilocal feedback, and it was 100% worth the trip. Thanks, guys!

Renewed my tabs through the DOL and opted to have this location mail them to me. I renewed a month and a half before they were expired and totally forgot about it until I got a verbal warning from a cop that they were expired! Never received them in the mail.
Called next day and was verified my shipping address, they told me to come by and pick them up no charge since ally info was accurate but I did not receive them. Super friendly staff, very helpful.
Place is a little dingy and they have creepy dolls… Be forewarned!

I work with this licensing agency pretty regularly as part of my job. Everyone here is amazing, especially Joan, she always has the answer to any question I have.

I do say, the ladies working here are some of the nicest and most patient ladies I’ve had the pleasure of working with. And they work at a licensing agency! Car tabs and licensing issues are never particularly fun to deal with. Ever. Dealing with such matters is a dreaded necessary evil. When i recently bought my car from a family friend, I had to transfer the old title and registration ion my name before finishing up the paperwork at the BECU across the street. This place was open, and when I walked in, completely dead. It, of course, filled up immediately after I walked in, and while my pile of paperwork took about 15 minutes to complete, the other gal working was a speed demon, getting two people completely sorted out and finished by the time I left. Luckily for me, my car year (2000) didn’t need an emissions test to transfer the paperwork over to my name, but they did have a list of emissions testing centers in the greater Puget Sound area up for any/​all people to see. I got all my paperwork explained, organized, and printed out quickly, and was even offered a cookie before I left. It was one of those Danish sugar cookies out of the blue tin, but still– who can turn down cookies by sweet ladies?!
I would come here again in a heartbeat. I had a relatively painless experience! Other than the large chunk of money I parted with for tax/​title transfer and other fees, of course.

Being from Atlanta, I have always had to handle licensing thru the state DMV. Not exactly known for their outstanding attitudes, helpfulness, short wait times, etc.
Now that I am a full fledged Seattleite now, I know I can pop into an independent licensing office and breeze thru the process.
It is the people, and, in particular, Joan, who makes this office the GO TO spot for tabs, titles, etc.
I appreciate their friendliness, professionalism and great attitudes.

I had a different experience at the ballard licensing place so I came here. This place is better.

the lady that worked with me was helpful and efficient. coming from texas i wasnt sure how long it would take to go through the ordeal of getting new plates. however, i discovered that there was no ordeal at all.

I have been using this office for tabs for a few years (unless I can just do it online). I have recently bought a private party car and had to do the title transfer etc.
The ladies at this office were friendly and helpful. I am very good at bargaining (I guess!) and I paid very little for the car I bought. Obviously the State still wants to get the «book value» taxed, which is ridiculous because car prices have dropped like a stone in the past few months. The ladies at the counter gave me the information on how I could justify the amount I paid ($ 4k below their «book» value), and the transaction went without a hitch. I did have to go do a small task, but it was simple enough.
Once that’s done, it was a 5-​minute matter, without any waiting time. I have never seen a line at this office. They charge a small fee ($ 5), but for a thousand dollar transaction, that’s nothing for the time I didn’t have to waste to go to the «main office» and wait. I live only a block away.
Kudos to them.
