This is a cool little spot that is tucked away in an area where you wouldn’t expect to find a bar on Capitol Hill. That is to say, if you’re aimlessly checking out the bar scene in Capitol Hill, you would be unlikely to just happen upon Cure. Because of this, I think Cure gets less business than it deserves. Cure strikes me as a great place to take a date or a just kick it with some friends after a long day at work. But the drinks here are well done and the bartenders are nice. If you’re looking for a reprieve from the places where you have to sweatily stand behind 14 people at the bar on a Saturday night in order to get a gin and tonic, this is a solid choice. It wasn’t too crowded when we were there a couple Saturdays ago. I also like the salty seeds they put out(I believe they were seasoned roasted sunflower seeds). The seeds made me thirsty… but luckily they plenty of tasty cocktails to help offset that thirst. It has the cocktail culture of a Tavern Law, but without all the bells and whistles(and, thankfully, also without the $ 14 price tag per drink). If there’s one word two describe Cure, it’s definitely«chill». I didn’t try any of the charcuterie, but I do love me some meat and cheese plates, so I’ll have to try that on my next visit.

Came here for Family Meal and was blown away by the dishes. The menu consisted of vegetable soup, smoked duck meatloaf and goat cheese fig ice cream. Yea, what a lineup!

This restaurant is wonderful and the staff is so endearing and personable. The atmosphere is modern and cozy but not pretentious in any regard. I will certainly come back again. Microbrews on tap are cheaper than anywhere I have found in the city and the food is excellent. This experience was truly enjoyable and I’m leaving with a smile on my face. Definitely check out Cure and go to Cal Anderson afterward! Two thumbs up.

I like this place. Meats, cheeses and cocktails. The fromage blanc is a must, you can’t beat warm chèvre drizzled in truffle honey. Side note: who knew truffle and honey could make such a delightful pair? The lomo iberico meat was my next favorite. The plate felt like it was a little bare, but the meat was so darn tasty. The sweet pear with blue cheese and salami made for the perfect bite. Smoked duck and fig jam was just so so. Paloma cocktail was nice and salty.

All we were here for was a light appetizer and drink. It’s what we got and Happy Hour prices too. We ordered the fromage blanc crostini with truffle honey and the prosciutto plate. I also got the Gin Ricky. Everything was good. The service was friendly and the space is cool. It is a hidden gem on Capitol Hill.

I remember when I walked by this little place a few years ago, cute quiet little place tucked away in an alley. If you had walked by on a regular day, no one would notice. Walked over there Saturday with some friends and was ecstatic over the lovely selection of meats and cheeses. The platter was lovely, coppa, salami… spanish ham… take me to heaven please. PLUS they make a mean Gin Rickey. Good gravy! By the way, get their marinated olives… especially the green olives with stuffed with anchovies.

Great little bar downstairs in our building, every night has a different drink special and every one that we have tried so far has been great. We have not had a lot of different things food wise but what we have tried was delicious and fairly priced including a sandwich that is only $ 6 which is a steal. The two owners are probably the friendliest bartenders we have met so far in the city and we will be happy to call ourselves regulars.

I was hungry in Cap Hill, so I stopped by just in time for happy hour — whew! This small bar/restaurant specializes in fancy meat and cheese — hence the name. I started with a plate of bruschetta, marcona almonds, and cherve covered with truffle-flavored honey; the cherve with truffle-honey was divine. My apologies to the other patrons, but I had to lick my fingers to get all that wonderful honey. I love artichokes, so of course I tried the artichoke soup — it was creamy enough, but it didn’t taste very much like artichoke to me. I also tried the prosciutto plate with thick parmesan and tomato jam. The prosciutto was perfectly melt-in-your-mouth-thin and paired well with the parmesan; the tomato jam was a little spicy for my taste, but others would have liked it.

Stopped in for a late evening snack before meeting up with friends next door at the Rock Box. I’d never seen this little place before but a bowl of soup sounded delicious and I was intrigued by their menu, which led me to think their soup might be worth a try. Wait… Artichoke soup? Count me in! Their ambience is top notch! They’ve got swing and jazz on the stereo, but not so loud you can’t have a conversation. The décor is very«new American» in a non-contrived way, and I can definitely see bringing a date here. I only tried te artichoke soup, which was fantastic. Mildly sweet, mildly salty, mildly sour. Very different! I love artichokes so this was really perfect. The staff was fantastic. Friendly and helpful. My soup came out very quickly. I will be back to try some of their non-soup items in the future. It really feels like a much more expensive restaurant. Big on ambiance, relatively easy on the wallet. I don’t think any of the menu items tipped over the $ 15 per plate mark. Loved it!

Cozy neighborhood bar with tasty charcuterie, Manhattan happy hour, friendly bartenders. Check out their drink specials, which rotate daily. What more could you want? Tucked next to Rockbox, across from Molly Moon, love Cure’s laidback vibe, perfect if you’re on the Hill but just need a spot to relax and take a breather from the usual chaos. Good for smaller groups or a date, back patio perfect for summer nights.

Cure is a little hidden place tucked away behind the tennis courts at Cal Anderson Park. While I’ve walked by on more than one occasion, I finally popped in on Sunday night, feeling snackish. The Sunday special was a $ 12 bottle of cava, so we settled in on the patio to people watch, with our bubbly, the fromage blanc crostini, and a plate of prosciutto, salami, and triple cream cheese. Sadly, our peaceful evening was ruined by a boisterous group who descended on the patio and wouldn’t shut up about the $ 12 bottles of cava. Ugh. We couldn’t get out of there fast enough. The charcuterie was ok, but I’m glad we didn’t sit inside. There’s definitely a weird sweat funk going on in there. Consider yourself warned!

Perfect little place for a well-made drink and tasty snack with amazingly friendly staff/owners. Not a place to get a meal, but they’re not trying to be a full-service restaurant so I’m a little confused by some of the reviews on here. Just a good, solid, friendly neighborhood place and a great spot to people watch with the park just across the street.

This is the definition of a five-star establishment. It’s beautiful, there is great seating both inside and out, the food is amazing, the staff is both caring and professional. I’ve never been in a bar I liked more. Cure is perfect for almost every occasion, from impressing out-of-towners to girl’s night to a good date spot. It is right by the Cal Anderson tennis courts down a side street between Broadway and 10th, so it is off the beaten path enough that you won’t find d-bags and bro-hos, even on a Saturday night. My favorite is the fromage blanc with truffle honey and almonds or the chorizo plate, but you really can’t go wrong. They also used to do this monthly family meal– three courses and I think a glass of wine for a fixed price. I’m not sure that they still do it, but it was an event to catch. Check out their drink of the day specials!

Cure is a bit hidden because it’s pretty much in an alley past RockBox and across from Cal Anderson Park. The signage is super cute and the interior is clean, modern and slick. There are a few small tables and lots of bar spots. This was one of our many spots of the night when we were bar hopping in Capitol Hill. We ordered some of the specialty cocktails, which were just OK. I got the Paris cocktail, it was strong, but not super memorable. Their daily specials are a good deal though, cocktails for like $ 6 each or something. They have a small menu but their charcuterie plates were the highlight. You can also order cheese and bread to go with the cured meats. They were quite tasty and the perfect snack.

Went out here on a recent date-night and don’t know if it was just an off-night or missed expectations, but was underwhelmed. We ordered a couple of the plates and the olives, but were definitely still hungry(and I’m not expecting giant chain restaurant portions). The«fondue-style» cheese dish was good, and the wine selection was reasonably priced — I’ll give them that. There’s plenty of bread(too much even). But our service was inexplicably slow with the restaurant half-empty it still took a long time for our waitress to return to our table, get our check, etc. Maybe we shouldn’t have gone here expecting anything other than a drink and a single appetizer — it’s not something I could recommend for someone actually looking for dinner.

Located right next door to my favorite karaōke bar, this cured meats café is decent for it’s cheese and meats. If there’s anything I love as much as noodles, it’s charcuterie and cheese!!! My friends and I went there as a post-dinner ordeal because we love to eat, eat, EAT! We never get tired of eating, especially any place with cured meats. Midnight snacks are our BESTFRIENDS! The location is not the best for big groups, but the staff was very accommodating, friendly, knowledgeable, and where my biggest critique comes in, attentive! The meats and cheese we chose were all very good and they were generous enough to give a slice of meat person, but my biggest problem was not having enough bread for the cheese. I felt like if there was enough bread, the cheese would have been easier to eat because there was such generous portions, we couldn’t bare to waste. My recommendation for this café is to have access to Iberian meat. A lot of people love it and would do anything to try it. Since it’s situated next to Rockbox, I may be coming here a few times every year. Karaōke, cheese, meat, and drinks? WHYNOT?!

Cure is such a happy place. I don’t visit Cure often because the walk there looks a little sketchy some nights, but I love wine and cheese, so I try to stop by every once in a while. On my last visit, I decided on a glass of a rosé, some goat cheese, and the sardine plate. The wine was nice, the cheese was good(served with plenty of bread!), and the sardine plate was magnificent. A little baguette, a little butter, a little sardine. Simple and delicious. The menu is simple and very good, but it’s also«artisan» enough to keep the prices a little higher than you might expect for meat, cheese, and bread. It’s not extremely expensive, but it’s easy to spend $ 15 – 20 per person(or more if you plan to have a few cocktails). Enjoy!

30 for 30: This is a cute little spot tucked away in the corner of Capitol Hill– a rare find I tell you! I came here on a Saturday night for drinks and conversation. It wasn’t dead quiet but it was quiet enough you could hear yourself speak– again, a rare find for the Hill on a Saturday. It’s not really for meeting people. I had a sloe gin fizz which was a lot bigger than I expected. I didn’t feel any alcohol but sloe gin fizz’s tend to be weak. I also smelled a lot of cured meat but we didn’t try any food. This is a great little bar for catching up with a friend. It’s not quite as fancy as Canon or Smith etc. but it’s got that same ambiance and it’s a little smaller and quieter, if that’s what you want. Both those other two spots have gotten so hot, its hard for that now. One suggestion… this sounds dumb but can they please fix the bathroom door so it shuts automatically. It drove me nuts having to see the toilet from our table constantly so we kept going up to shut it! lol.

A great place on the Hill to meet up for happy hour! Cure faces onto Cal Anderson Park, right next to the Rock Box. We came in after work on a Friday and had no trouble getting seated right away. The décor is simple and understated, lots of windows to let the light in, and it’s pleasantly quiet so you can talk without shouting over the music. Happy hour features $ 5 small plates, $ 3 sangria, and $ 7 house cocktails. The sangria seemed like a slightly odd pairing with meaty charcuterie plates, but who cares? The small plates are a good size for a snack or a light meal, although you’ll probably want to get a few if you’re sharing them with a group. Service was friendly and just attentive enough, without being intrusive. I’d definitely come back for happy hour!
