I was a patient of Dr. Hovander for a number of years before moving to Honolulu about a year ago. I found him when my previous optometrist retired. I wish that I had made the connection earler. I very much enjoyed going to Dr. Hovander. His examinations were more thorough than I had before and he took time to explain his findings and answer my questions. I still keep notes from those conversations as a reference point for future examinations. Dr. Hovander’s chairside manner is all business and might strike some people as a bit cold. But I appreciated that professional approach.
Another think I liked about Dr. Hovander is that he provided a copy of the prescription without me asking for it. There was no pressure to use the on-​site optical dispensing services like often happens at other places. I did have some items made up there and was pleased. But I like to have the option to go elsewhere, especially in an emergency.
I hope that I am fortunate enough to find an optometrist the caliber of Dr. Hovander here!

I will most definitely come back to Dr. Hovander for future eye care. He was thorough, knowledgeable and took great care to ensure that my prescription was correct. I was seen right away. I was equally as impressed with the optician. So happy to have finally found and eye Dr. that I can stick with.

I have been going to Dr. Hovander for about 6 years… the quality of care is excellent. I am always seen promptly and the exams are very thorough. Dr. Hovander explains everything clearly, has a calm bedside manner, and the Optician, Richard, is also great when explaining how and why some contacts work for some eyes. I will continue coming here and recommending this Dr.

Mark Hovander OD provides excellent service! I had my first appointment last week, and was completely satisfied. His online registration makes it easy to complete all of the paperwork ahead of time, so that the office visit is really an office visit, rather than a waiting room visit. His early hours make it possible to be seen before work. His bedside manor was very good as well, he made sure I understood exactly what he was doing. I will go back to Dr. Hovander as long as I live in the Seattle area.
