Their billionaire beef bacon is amazing! Brisket is Texas style delicious. I don’t like coleslaw usually, but their remoulade coleslaw made me change my mind. Their smoked old fashioned was a great drink to accompany my amazing meal!

One thing I got to say this place is down right amazing. They had fast service and the waiter and waitresses all had wonderful attitude. The food were down right amazing. We had 4 people and we order(2) Picnics for 4 because we were not sure what taste good and how big the portion were but we couldn’t even touch our second batch cause it was whole lot of brisket, ribs, chicken, and sausage as well as 4 different sides, everything tastes amazing. We will definitely come back again.

Jack’s has the very best Texas style barbecue you will find in these parts. It’s up to you, but I always eat it without any sauce to get all of the smokey goodness that was intended. I ordered 2 pounds of brisket and 2 quarts of sides to take home. It was delicious even the second day. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. The drinks at the bar are well set, with a great selection of premium liquor. I have only gone here during lunch time, but I enjoy the service and the food. Chips and queso appetizer is good with a side of jalapeño. I highly recommend this as a lunch stop.

No other joint in this burg lives up to Jack’s, for authentic Texas style. I prefer to order the Frito Pie, with a side of Mac’n’Cheese, which i just immediately mix into the Frito Pie.

We’ve heard a lot about how great the barbecue is here at Jack’s. To say we were disappointed is an understatement. We visited on a Tuesday night — their«beef rib night.» We arrived before 6:00PM, and the place wasn’t that busy. We were quickly seated in the corner, and promptly forgotten. It took quite a while to get a server to bring us water and take our order. The food arrived quickly enough after we placed our order, but that was about the last we saw of our server. At one point we had to go up to the server stand and get our own water refills. We started with the Wedge Salad, which is supposed to be served with bacon. They were out of bacon. How is that possible? It’s a pork restaurant. How do you run out of bacon? We ordered the Buttermilk Hushpuppies. Turns out it was the last order of the night — at 6:00PM on a Tuesday. How is that possible? It’s batter. You make more. Everyone raves about the beef ribs so we ordered one. It was 1 ½ pounds(that translates to $ 39.00 for the rib). It was burnt to a crisp, and practically inedible. What beef there was on the bone was riddled with fat, and lots of it. We also tried the pork ribs. They were overcooked and extremely dry. The barbecue sauce couldn’t save them. The sides we ordered were unremarkable. They were so unremarkable that I can’t even remember what they were. We won’t be going back.

I have been to Jack’s three times so far. It has been hit and miss. So far they are winning with the missing with me. For the third time I really hyped this place up with my wife’s 1st try at Jack’s. My wife wasn’t to pleased and I realized why when i bit into my meat and opened my pulled pork which was 90% pulled fat. AND I MEANFAT. I was extremely disappointed and the guy who took my order made me feel like I was getting a sweeeeeet deal. Yeah, hella FAT deal, fat pulled pork, fat end of the ribs and fatty brisket… ugh I’m sick. You might be thinking, why didn’t I drive back and get my money back. Well, just to far of a drive and I was super comfortable and ready to dive in. You already know the rest of the story. They get 1star for the one time they got it Right. I’m not going back… not on purpose

My husband and I came here on a Friday evening for dinner. The place looks and feels like home. Wood floors, couches, coffee tables and an outdoor patio is several picnic tables. Several large TVs with photo slide shows playing, not sure if they play anything else on them. Music playing over head. It was very loud in the bar, not sure if the restaurant side was as loud, but I could hardly hear my husband talking across the table! I ordered the pulled pork plate. It seemed dry to me, needing lots of bbq sauce… good thing I liked their bbq sauce! The mac and cheese side was good but the beans were nothing to rave about. Husband loved the ribs and brisket chili side. The pulled pork plate was plenty for a small appetite like me, enough for my lunch the next day! I’d probably come back to try the brisket, but overall not sure it’s much to rave about.

Randomly stopped by on a early Saturday evening, 7pm. The place was moderately crowded, but they were already out of their pulled pork, chicken, sausage. 3 out of their 5 menu choices. Ok, I guess we’re getting some brisket and ribs… Food took forever… about 40 minutes. We picked Mac n cheese, coleslaw, beans, and potato salad. None of the sides were worth writing home about, all were rather bland. I’ve had better at Ezells, hell, even at KFC. The brisket was ok… just ok. Same with the pork ribs. They had a dry rub on it that was very mild, and a mild smokey flavor. They also give you some BBQ sauce that kind of tastes like a non spicy Tabasco sauce. I ended up using a lot of that since the flavor of the meat was so mild(i.e. tasteless). For $ 21, my dish had 3 medium slices of brisket and 3 pieces of ribs and 2 sides. Pretty pricey for what you get. And when you add in the slow service, loud environment, and worst of all, the mediocre food, I’m really surprised this place is able to stay in business… not recommended whatsoever…

Showed up at 6:30PM on Saturday evening. Wait time for table for two was 5 – 10 minutes. Atmosphere was really loud, it was hard to have a conversation due to the smallish restaurant being jammed pack. They were out of the pulled pork and sausage. I got the pork ribs and mac & cheese. My wife got the«BIG D»(chopped beef with bbq sauce and relish) she liked it but said there was a lot of fat in the beef, she had to pull out. I really liked the pork ribs, I ate them dry with no sauce and it was tasty. The mac & cheese was very good too. It took about 30 minutes or so from the time we ordered to get our food. By the time we left around 8PM the only meat left was brisket. Note to management make more pulled pork and less brisket. We were really disappointed there was no pulled pork at dinner time. We drove down from Edmonds, and unfortunately I don’t think I’ll go out of my way to eat here again.

When I saw the menu online prior to coming here for dinner, my mouth was already getting watery, and I myself normally don’t eat that much meat to begin with! When I came here with 3 other people in our party, we were being very indecisive about what to order since EVERYTHING sounded delicious, so we ended up ordering the«Picnic for 4» plate, which includes all of the meats they offer, plus 4 sides. My favorite meat was definitely the brisket — it just MELTS in your mouth! The pork ribs was my next favorite. They give you both regular and spicy(jalapenos added) bbq sauces. My favorite side was the Texas Caviar — I wasn’t sure what to expect from a «blacked-eyed pea salad», but it was DELICIOUS! The Picnic for 4 plate was enough to feed all 4 of us plus leftovers, even though the 2 guys in our group both already eat a lot! If you want legit bbq, you should definitely come here for dinner and stuff your face with meat.

THISPLACEISAWESOME! My friend told me about this place, as it’s truly a hidden gem in the Industrial area of Seattle. I would’ve never known about it otherwise. I came here for dinner, to meet some friends and as soon as I walked in I immediately fell in love with the décor. It really transports you to Texas, with its wood picnic tables and string lights. And the smell of BBQ was mesmerizing. It really reminded me of my time when I was in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.(I later learned by one of the servers that Jack, the owner is actually from Central Texas.) I ordered the Double Trouble combination, with Pork Ribs and Brisket. For my two sides — I ordered the collard greens, which was the special of the day, and chili. The food was incredible! I ordered the brisket, since Texas is known for that, and it did not disappoint. BUT, I loved the Pork Ribs! I’m a huge fan of that charred flavor, which the ribs definitely had. The rub was bomb dot com. I also loved that it wasn’t slathered in BBQ sauce like at some other BBQ joints. On the side you can get BBQ sauce, and choose your spice level, which was perfect. The sauce should complement your food, not slather it where you don’t taste the meat itself. I will have to come back to try their Beef Ribs, which I hear is just as incredible.(They were unfortunately out the day I visited.) The collard greens were awesome, with brisket and to add icing on the cake, the chili was rockin’ it with being mostly brisket. So, it was an overindulgence of protein. LOVE. As for beers — I liked that they allowed me to sample some beers first before ordering, and there is the option of schooners if you don’t want to drink pints. There’s also a full bar, and a list of specialty cocktails. Service is fantastic. The staff was very friendly, and would continually check in on our table. We were the last to leave the joint, but they didn’t seem to be annoyed at all that we were still there. This place is a must for some bomb BBQ!!!

Jack’s BBQ was ok. I love the menu and the fact that they serve more than just sandwiches, but actually platters. I would agree that the service seems a bit chaotic, takes a while to place an order, and the wait time for the food seems a bit long considering everything(to my knowledge) is pre-made. I had the ½ chicken which I thought was very good. I also ordered 2 sides– potato salad, and chili. Potato salad… no good. Chili was… different. No beans, but more of a broth which I didn’t appreciate as much as a tomato base but had a lot of meat in it that was a plus. Overall… I’d come back(as long as someone else is driving) but by the looks of how busy it is they have a pretty good customer base with or without my business.

So I came here to get some BBQ and all I got was lousy service. It was incredibly difficult to place our order for food, drinks or even any of the fixings they claimed were available from their menu. The food was mediocre nothing really stood out about it. Was a very disappointing experience.

Let’s face it, everyone is a critic when it comes to BBQ, some equate it to a style. Some people point out their heritage where they were born, as validation their point of view is right. I think there is a truth in many of those points of view, and a good measure to guide my experience. BBQ is like a wine, in that there are so many tastes to appreciate. What I’m trying it say, you don’t need to be an expert, to appreciate how delicious this place is. Jack’s for the most part, gives me nothing less than a good solid BBQ. Whenever there is an excuse to visit, I tend to lean toward the«yes, please» answer. Upon arriving at this uniquely terrific place, is a cross between an «Ice House» and bar. Tuck in a bit, and after being seated, you are presented with a neat menu of deliciousness. I recommend the plates, because you get meat + two sides. It’s a beautiful concocting of options, of which you can never go wrong. Almost every time, I have brisket. Sometimes, they have beef ribs. I watch as other customers order a prehistoric looking meat+bone, and consume it quickly, so it’s probably good. They aren’t the most difficult to cook, but they are massive meat sticks. So what if it’s in the middle of south downtown, it’s a good place for food. If you are picky, it’s Texas style BBQ, but which region, it’s actually… wait… who cares, it’s just good food.

I came here with friends to celebrate a friend’s belated birthday. When we arrived they had my info from the reservation I made online and I waited a few minutes for our tables to get put together. We ordered the«picnic for 4» which came with brisket, ribs, chicken, sausages, pulled pork and 4 sides. We chose: coleslaw, beans, potato salad, and Mac & cheese. The food came out quickly and the portions were pretty decent. We ordered additional food because we were feeding 7 people. So we ordered a full rack of ribs and rib tips. Overall, the food was ok, but I didn’t feel like it hit the spot. The pulled pork was my favorite. Rib tips were also pretty good but they were pretty peppery. Service: slow and I don’t think there were enough servers for how many people were in the restaurant.

3.5 stars. Mr. Jack offers some pretty decent BBQ. The sauce automatically comes on the side, which is nice, because I hate it when my meat is dripping in so much sauce that I can’t taste the smokey-ness. The sides were probably the best part though. The corn chowder, which was a special that day, was incredible. I’d eat a bucket of that stuff. The sausages were a little bit of a letdown. They were a little too peppery for our liking. The brisket was probably my favorite. Moist and tender, but not too fatty. The ribs were also pretty good, but not the best I’ve ever had. I’d like to come back sometime and tried the pulled pork.

Jack’s BBQ caught me by surprise. I am very picky with BBQ and Jack’s won me over with great food, specifically the Brisket! The service, the restaurant, the people are amazing. If you like authentic BBQ and great service I highly recommend you come to Jack’s BBQ! I will be a regular!

I make a point to seek out Seattle’s best barbecue places. In my hunt, I have now been to several and Jack’s sits near the top for a number of reasons. Though the restaurant has only been open for a couple of years, it feels like it has been there for decades. The parking lot was full on a Tuesday night, a testament to the crowd this place draws in spite of being in a warehouse district with no noteworthy surroundings. You will be salivating from the moment you step out of your car and smell the sweet, smoky air. My friends and I got the picnic for 4… we wanted to try everything! While no meat or side disappointed, the highlights for me were the brisket and the hot links. Paired that with some 2bar bourbon and made for one epic meal! They also give you two sauce cups: one regular one spicy(it actually does have a good kick). The food was a bit cold when it came to our table… Maybe keep the food trays in a warming drawer? Just found out they cater so… Gonna try to find an excuse to have them cater my next team outing!

Best BBQ restaurant in Seattle. There I said it. Deal with it. I’ve been to this place several times including my last birthday dinner and every single time I have walked away happy, full, and very impressed. The location is a bit off the beaten path and would have to be considered a destination type joint since there really isn’t anything else around it. They do have plenty of parking both for your vehicles and for your butts as they have a private lot, plenty of street parking, a very spacious dining area, and an equally large bar/dining area. I normally like to write about the food before anything else but, in this case, I just have to rave about the level of service these folks provide. You definitely feel welcome from the moment you walk in and, if you are any type of repeat customer, they are more than likely to remember that you’ve been in before. The owner can often be seen walking around chatting with folks and making sure everything is up to par while the wait staff is constantly buzzing around addressing any need that might come up. As far as the food, I have loved every bite of meat I have ever tried from this place. For me, the benchmark of good BBQ is the brisket and the stuff these guys are producing is absolutely top notch. Other highlights are the pork ribs and, if you are able to stop in on a Tuesday night, you might be lucky enough to order the beef ribs. Seriously, you have to try these bad boys at least once. So good. The one area that isn’t completely to my liking is the selection of side items, some of which tend to be on the more fancy side and stray away from the more traditional and classic versions that I personally prefer. I know BBQ is one of those things where people will say«It’s not like what I had back home» or «They don’t make it like they do in that one place down south» but, I could really care less. Jack’s makes great food that tastes delicious and I will most likely never have an opportunity to go to those other comparative places anyway so I’m not going to worry about it. If you like great food and even better service in a really fun and upbeat atmosphere, you definitely want to check this place out.
