This is truly a 5 star pub. Gold standard of NW neighborhood brew pubs. Excellent staff, bar food, setting, beer selection. Consistant in the quality. Heck — first time I went here was 1997. Second time — 2016. I’ll not wait so long between visits.

Great place to grab a beer and quick bit to eat as well as enjoy a nice experience. Bartender was friendly and knowledgable. I recommend trying the pulled pork quesadilla. Perfect amount of pork and cheese. Also the dipping sauces complimented the pork well. The prohibition sea cider is delicious, aged in bourbon barrels. Overall great experience.

This is a small but charming neighborhood pub that we frequent on occasion. I’m gonna break it down pros and cons style: Pros: –Delicious hearty food that is very reasonably priced for what you get. My favorite is the panzanella salad with kale and butternut squash. Holy crap! That salad is amazing. Other great options include the mac and cheese and the chicken pot pie. –The beer selection is not the biggest you’ll find in town, but the list is thoughtfully curated. –The service we’ve received from the floor staff has always been friendly and laid back. Cons: –It is a small space, so there aren’t many places to stand if you’re waiting for a table and the tiny bar is filled up. It’s easy to feel like you’re blocking the flow or in the way. –The bartender… I suspect this establishment has more than one on staff, but all the times we’ve visited the same person has been working. In our experience, this staff member is great if you end up sitting at the bar because you’re ‘bar’ customers at that point and we’ve always been well taken care of in these cases. If you’re just looking to order a drink while you wait for seating… it can be a different story. Case in point– our last visit had us waiting in the tiny space between the bar seating and the slender rail that designates the«bar» from the«restaurant». If you’re standing there staring at the beer list, it’s obvious that you’re waiting for a table and probably interested in ordering a drink while you wait. This bartender caught our eye a number of times, but chose to ignore us. Finally, after a solid five + minutes of waiting, my friend walked over to the end of the bar near the entrance to the kitchen area(careful not to block access for servers) and continued to wait for service. This bartender finally acknowledged him with a surly, accusatory«Can I help you??» Uh… yes, just trying to order a beer; so sorry for putting you out… geez. All in all, this is a great place, however, and we’ll gladly return in the future!

I just moved to greenlake and latona pub is super close by my place. I’ve stopped in a few times over the last couple months for a couple beers and I have to say their service really rubs me the wrong way. A couple of the bartenders are cool, but there’s a few that are just plain rude. Last time i went there, I wasnt keen on spending $ 7/pint for a beer, so i drank a cheap canned pilsner. The bartender makes her way over after I’d finished the first beer and says«can i get you another … canned … beer?» In this super smug, condescending tone. After some sketchy service before, that was really the cherry on top. I hear their food is good, but i couldn’t tell you and probably won’t be going back with any frequency. There are much better bars within a mile of here; I’d suggest you try those out.

Food is 2 star, beer and ambiance 4 star. Service was OK, business-like, not warm and fuzzy which is fine. Great selection of beer, OK selection of cider(one on tap, couple bottles). I ordered the grilled cheese and basil tomato soup, husband ordered the PBLT. The grilled cheese was scorching hot, soup was luke-warm. Soup was flavorful and fresh, sandwhich was saturated in oil/clarified butter, practically dripping when compressed with a bite. I sent it back for the small plate(goat cheese and mushroom pastry). Figured the pastry would not have added grease, just the built in stuff. It was better. PBLT was also very greasy, the pork belly had no seasoning, just tasted like pork fat. Go for neighborhood bar atmosphere and good beers. Do not go for the food unless you can find something on the menu that isn’t doused in grease, unless that’s your thing.

Nice spot in Greenlake. They have a nice selection of local beers on tap with a lot from Bellingham breweries. I had a tasty red from Bellingham. For dinner I had the portobello mushroom sandwich. It was really tasty. It had goat cheese and onions on it. The goat cheese was what made it especially tasty. It came with a large side salad. I always love it when a salad isn’t just plain boring iceberg lettuce. It also had a very tasty light vinaigrette dressing. I would stop by again sometime.

Went for my birthday. The greeting wasn’t friendly, it almost seemed like we were a burden just by walking in(we were a group of 10, but no one was roughy or even drunk) and it seemed like a hassle when we ordered drinks and good. It’s almost like they didn’t want to welcome new patrons, which worked, none of us will be going back. Word of advice: tell your servers to work on their attitudes because their customer service sucks.

My friends took me here and it is a great vibe – casual and the food is pretty good, too. Good beers on tap, too. Cozy neighborhood joint!

Solid food, great drink selection. I am a huge fan of the weekly Pasta Fresca feature on the menu. All of the regulars here are true Seattlelites. Or, at least, that’s how I perceive them because it seems only people who have lived here for a while know about this gem. It is my goal to become a regular here so that I, too, can pass as a Seattle native. I’ll break down this review by meals ordered and update every time I try a new one. If you want a review on the drink selection, go look at someone else’s review. No I’m kidding, don’t leave me. Just know you will be in good hands at Latona no matter your tastes. Fair warning, most of these meals are going to be the Pasta Fresca features as I can’t turn away from what I know and love: Macaroni and Cheese– It is well known that I base my overall rating of a restaurant in large part due to their mac&cheese dish. An American classic, if you don’t have good mac&cheese, can I really trust you to satisfy my desires? Well have no fear, Latona. Their Mac is awesome. Sophisticated penne noodles with a yummy(but oily) cheese sauce. I love adding bacon to this meal because they are not stingy. I swear I had 6 full pieces of bacon in my Mac last time. Maybe that’s why there was a lot of oil. Oh well ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ **Pro tip, this meal is pretty large, I usually can have dinner and tomorrow’s lunch out of it. Still tastes good after reheating it in the microwave. Cheese Plate(appetizer) — MMMMMM. Ok the honey on this bad boy is delicious. Cheese selection is done well(some sharp, some soft, some creamy, some slightly smelly) and has nice nut and fruit accompaniments. Crackers were good but cheese was better so I found myself foregoing the cracker and just eating the cheese+ selection. Turkey Club– Have to put this in as an honorable mention. While I have not had this(what looks to be) delectable sandwich, they are switching it off the menu in early October. So go get one now before it’s gone! My roommie swears by this sandwich and orders it every time. Clams/mussels– Their broth is to die for. Thank goodness they bring bread or I would have been forced to drink out of the bowl. Super fresh and super scrumptious. You have the option of getting clams, mussels, or a nice mix of both.

Do not let the fact that this is a pub make you think the food here is your average pub food. When I went here I got the smoked trout appetizer and split the fish tacos and latona torta with carnitas for entrees. Everything was delicious. They took food more seriously then most restaurants I’ve eaten at in Seattle, so try not to be immediately turned off by the prices — the food is very much worth it. As for the pubs side of things, the beer selection was not huge but the options that they had were solid. Lots of local and seasonal beers on tap. To top things off there was live bluegrass music on the Sunday we were here.

This is my «local pub» and I love it. The food is awesome, the service is always quick and friendly, and they have truffle honey. Some of the food might be considered a little«pricey» as you may read in other reviews. However, it’s fresh and worth it. We even accidentally ended up attending one of their brewery nights and won a raffle, with free raffle tickets they gave out. This is an awesome place to eat, relax, and grab a beer.

Came here with a group of people to have dinner and drinks. A friend of mine knew some of the people working so we sat upstairs which I don’t think is normally open. The meatloaf and chicken Quessadilla are really good!!! The Mac n’ cheese is NOT tasty. Not your usual thick cheese, but a runny white Alfredo that doesn’t stick to the penne pasta. Just skip it. Otherwise, the staff is incredibly friendly and efficient. I felt bad that they had to go up and down the flight of stairs for us!

Bomb dot com food! Awesome rotating beers! Cool live music! Latona Pub is our favorite neighborhood bar in Greenlake! The restaurant is tucked away in the corner of the neighborhood next to a few other businesses, so there is plenty of free street parking. Yay! The restaurant is well lit with tall windows, so there is not a bad seat in the house. Hello Sunshine! It is a smaller space with a bar and only about 10 – 12 booth and small tables. I wouldn’t come with more than a group of 2 – 4, so get ready to get intimate. We have visited for weeknight dinner on multiple occasions, and never have to wait more then 5 – 10 minutes. Love love love the entire menu! Generous portions. Talk about quality yum! Sonoma County Duck Confit — amazing! Leg of duck confit on top of a fresh mixed green salad with roasted beets, pecans, Humbolt Fog chèvre and cranberry fig dressing. If you enjoy duck as much as we do, then get this dish. Steak and Mushroom Salad — they do their steak salad well! Painted Hills sirloin with sautéed mushroom, served with a refreshing baby spinach salad with pears, caramelized shallots, and Gorgonzola. Latona Burger — Painted Hills beef, lettuce, tomato, onion and chipotle mayo. Perfectly moist and well cooked to perfection, served on the heavenly Columbia City Bakery bread. Side of refreshing greens and balsamic vinaigrette. Grilled Cheese and Tomato Basil Soup — they can even make something so simple so awesome. Toasted walnut bread with sharp white cheddar and tomato. The tomato basil soup is sweet and tart, with a delicious consistency. I have also ordered the soup and salad combo with Columbia City baguette. Painted Hills meatloaf — one of my favorite menu items, their meatloaf is an ultimate comfort food and does not disappoint! Bacon wrapped meatloaf, caramelized onions, red wine gravy, chunky Yukon gold mash potatoes and mixed greens. Did someone say bacon? Chicken Pot Pie — delicious chicken with carrots, peas, celery cooked in rich creamy white sauce. The flaky pie crust tops it off with amazing and satisfying crisp. Great dish to warm you up on a cold day. Def one of my favorite bar food choices, and they do it great here. Macaroni and Cheese — the classic favorite! Penne noodles, white cheddar beer sauce, fresh herbs, Parmesan, all baked into an ooey warm melted goodness. A side of refreshing salad and baguette. Their rotating beer menu does not disappoint. Refreshing and goes perfect with their great food. Service is friendly and prompt. They will make sure you are taken care of here. I love the live music available some evenings. The last time we visited, the visiting performers even handed out raffle tickets to all guests, and gave away prizes every 15 – 30 minutes. I got lucky and won a really cool graphic men’s hoody for the hubby! Um, best night ever! Winner winner chicken dinner! Thanks for the great nights, Latona Pub! We will definitely be back soon.

Cool little pub with gigantic windows; perfect for a sunny day. Latona pub is a bit of a walking distance from Green Lake but definitely doable. I ordered the burger with provolone and bacon(both are extra) and it comes with a salad. The burger was juicy and comes with a chipotle aoli. The bun is from Columbia city bakery. It was very crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. It held the burger inside very nicely and did not get soggy at all. The salad was dressed with a balsamic vinaigrette. The vinaigrette got to be a little too much towards the bottom but it had good flavors. I would definitely come back to Latona if I was in the area again.

The ambiance is pretty bright with the windows and sunlight. Which wasn’t something I was expecting for a pub. It’s kind of tiny. I probably wouldn’t come with a group of more than 5. Okay, so I got the Mac and cheese with bacon and jalapeños. ANDITWASDELICIOUS! It was creamy with a nice kick from the jalapeños. Its kind of pricey ~$ 15 and because of that I don’t know if I would get it again, but it was great nontheless. Overall I would come back to try their beer and food selection.

Caveat: this review is heavily weighted on my food experience at Latona Pub. I wasn’t drinking at the time, so I didn’t get to appreciate the variety they had on tap. After reading all the reviews, I had high expectations of the food here and I think that might’ve set me up for disappointment. Just like adulthood, Latona Pub is not all that it’s cracked up to be. The meatloaf was good, although I prefer my meatloaf sliced thinner, cooked longer with crispier edges. Portion was very generous and I had a fair amount of leftover to take home for lunch the next day. Service was okay. Friendly? No. Rude? No. There was a water jug in the middle of the bar, so I’m not sure if you’re supposed to fetch your own water if you have table service, but my water was not refilled. It’s one of those bars I’d feel comfortable going by myself. If I lived in the area, I could see myself sitting at the bar alone to grab dinner and a beer if I was too lazy to cook at home.

This place had really great food! It’s great for vegetarians. I had the vegetable pot pie, and it was so good! It was really crowded, they had a jazz band in there and it was so loud. So I’m guessing they have those once in a while. They have upstairs seating in a little nook. It’s not a rowdy scene so if you’re not looking to just chill out, I would probably go somewhere else.

I love coming here and wanted to say that their grilled cheese is amazing! They do put a large slice of tomato in it as a warning for those who don’t enjoy that. They could have gone easier on the thickness of the slide because it wanted to slide out each time I took a bite. The Tomato kind of made it a bit sloppy I admit. One thing that did kind of throw us off is when we ordered the apple pie, it was served cold. Not even room temperature. Is it weird to expect warm or hot apple pie when served at a restaurant? Overall, still very worth coming, especially for their scrumptious salad!!!

Average to subpar service. We arrived when it was nearly empty to celebrate my first day at a new job, and sat at the bar. The bartender could barely pull herself away from conversations with locals long enough to give us menus and take our order. The food was the same — average to subpar. I ordered the southwest salad specifically because it was all romaine with lots of yummy toppings. There was almost all mixed greens(which I personally am not a fan of) the toppings were sparse and dressing was a little disappointing. It was a gorgeous day and the inside had great light and a good vibe from the music. There are also a few tables outside to enjoy a sunny day. I probably won’t come back.
