I found myself at Teddy’s for the first time yesterday to catch the NCAA final championship game. It never got too crowded and I liked the crowd that was there. No rowdy students or creepy people like you would find at U-District bars. They have nice TV’s, two pool tables, and a very sweet bartender. Drink prices are fair. My favorite part — they don’t have a kitchen so YOUCANBRINGYOUROWNFOOD to eat. Score! We got takeout from a nearby place. The seats are wooden and can get uncomfortable, but granted, I was also sitting for almost an hour. Great spot to catch a game and grab a drink!

I Love this place. And so should you. What’s not to like? You can bring in your own food. From home or subway across the street. Or They will order for you from Rain City Burger and have it delivered to to bar. I might also add that the burgers there are delicious and fresh cut fries rival those from Dicks. How cool is that? They have fresh squeezed fruit drinks. Margaritas or Whiskey Sours, you name it. Billiards inside and ping pong outside(summer only)

Teddy’s is your quintessential dive bar — stiff drinks, old dudes on bar stools, and tv’s for watching games. They get packed for Seahawks games, but you can also be one of four people there at times. They have darts, pool tables, and outdoor ping pong. It’s def a fun place but not your typical destination for the evening. More of a stop by on your way out. I still always have a good time there.

In response to Vera S., I was there the night you showed up, Your Highness. The pong list is simple. Whoever is next on the list can play the winners or play with your own crew. A decent warm up and one game if others are waiting. After you play you sign up again and wait your turn. Each player can pick a partner in doubles, which means several people can play twice before it becomes your turn. The management knows some of the regulars assist with the list to make sure everyone gets their turn and a fair time . I believe that we looked for you when it was your turn and when you finally returned to the patio you took several turns in a row on the table and scolded us with a nasty attitude when we explained the guidelines of the list and what had occurred. Teddy’s is a great place to watch or play outdoor ping pong on the patio with a chill crowd of all ages, and have a nice brew or fresh made cocktail(and thanks for recommending the Zoo: Princess Alert, many of us play there as well).

3.5 stars really. Good little neighborhood pub. Great place to meet up with a buddy and shoot the bull. I haven’t eaten here, so I can’t speak to the food, but the beer selection is solid, the atmosphere is laid back, there’s some nice outdoor seating in back. If you’re looking for a neighborhoody pub to grab a drink, you could definitely do worse.

Teddy’s has great potential due to their prime location and the amount of area the bar occupies. But unfortunately the few times I have been here, it just hasn’t been fun. Teddy’s has two main draws: ping pong table and fresh squeezed fruit drinks. I am an avid table tennis player and have been to every ping pong bar in Seattle. Teddy’s is by far the worst. The middle aged regulars control the single outdoor table with an iron grip, not allowing any newcomers to play. There is a sign-up sheet but what they don’t tell you is regulars can jump line and play any time they want. The last time I went here, I waited 2 hours to play and kept seeing the same people return to play five times but never actually got my turn. The owners don’t do anything to regulate traffic on the ping pong table. Meanwhile the outdoor patio is engulfed in cigarette smoke as you play ping pong because it is also the designated smoking area. Charming! As for the fresh squeezed juice drink. If you observe carefully you will find that there are no juicers behind the bar. So when is the juice ‘freshly’ squeezed? It could be a month ago and then refrigerated. Also they provide no information besides the ambiguous ‘fresh’. Is it organic? is it preservative free? My guess is none of these are true. Meanwhile they tack on another $ 3 on the drinks because apparently they are ‘freshly’ squeezed. Lastly, the entire bar area smells like bathroom. I kid you not! they must clean their restrooms so infrequently that a large portion of the bar smells of urine. Other reviewers have mentioned this. If you are looking for a ping pong bar, try the Eastlake Zoo. The playing is fair and people are far friendlier. You will not lose a lung to passive smoking while trying to play here.

If you like the smell of urine or being served an underfilled pint glass, then this bar is your thing. Come on in; this joint is what you need. This is obviously a Husky bar. For the above reasons mostly. Overpriced, for the same overrated garbage you can get literally anywhere else. Sounds like UW to me.

I haven’t been here in a while because I moved… I deeply miss this place. Fresh squeezed drinks. Awkward silences at the bar watching hockey. When I was still dating my wife I took her here and then we got married not at the bar of course. I like to think teddy’s is impressive enough for a woman to fall in love with a man that went there.

I visited Teddy’s Tavern on a Friday evening in March with a small group of friends. We were doing a low-key mini pub crawl to celebrate my friend’s brand new PhD. Teddy’s was quiet and accommodating. Other than our group, there appeared to be only a handful of regulars — my kind of bar! If I recall correctly, there’s a pool table and Big Buck Hunter. My friends seemed to enjoy their pitcher. I really liked my Manhattan, although I felt like it was on the pricier side for a more casual bar. I hope to return again soon!

Teddy’s is a low-key, some might say divey, easy going bar. I wouldn’t call it a true dive bar, myself. They have a good beer selection, it’s pretty clean, and an outside seating area(with a ping pong table) out back. The three or four times I’ve been there it has never been that crowded and the staff were always friendly. They don’t serve food, but you can get it at several establishments close by and bring it in. If you’re looking for a place to go with a group of friends or just a single friend, Teddy’s is a decent choice.

Teddy’s is near my apartment so I’ve gone a number of times over the past two years. It’s a great place to watch a game or hang out on the back patio during a casual, warm evening. It’s definitely not the fanciest place but it’s not a total dive either. Usually there are mostly 20−30somethings there. The staff is always kind and attentive. One of the only downsides is that they don’t have food, but you can order food for delivery from a few places nearby.

I always struggle with the distinction between a dive an a neighborhood bars. A dive usually has no windows, cheap drinks, pool table and bartenders that have been there forever. A neighborhood bar seems to have the same thing except that it is located inside of a neighborhood. So since Teddy’s is located in a neighborhood let’s just call it your friendly neighborhood bar. Some of the things Teddy’s has going for it include: It’s located very close to the intersection of the Roosevelt, Greenlake and Ravenna neighborhoods so it’s within walking distance for a lot of people. It has relatively inexpensive drinks and sells pitchers of some really great beers Pool tables, pin ball machines and video games for your entertainment pleasure A large patio in the back with pick up pin ball games going whenever the weather is nice out And let’s not forget one of the great things about this place is that it has plenty of televisions. I mean this is a great place to watch a game. The bartenders are usually really good about changing the channel to the game that you feel like watching as well. About the only real negative about Teddy’s is that they don’t serve food but this is actually a positive. They don’t serve food since they don’t have a kitchen BUT they are totally ok with you either bringing food in from outside or ordering food from somewhere else and having it delivered to you. The burger place across the street(Rain City Burgers) actually delivers food here and they keep menus for it behind the bar. I actually like the fact that they don’t serve food because it allows you to order whatever you want to eat without being limited by a bar menu. Overall I think this is a great place to hang out and recommend it to anyone that wants to watch a game, grab a beer with friends or play pool with some friendly people in your neighborhood.

I’ve loved Teddy’s for years. It’s not that complicated. They have some beer, they have some tv’s with sports, they have a pool table and ping pong, they have an outside patio. Sometimes it’s full of great people, and sometimes you get a jerk or two in there. Depends on the night. The staff have always been super nice. My favorite summer activity is sitting out on the patio(by myself), drinking a beer, and eating a burger from Rain City that the bartender has ordered for me and delivered to my table in a brown paper bag. It’s a great end to a long summer day. Another small thing: they will gladly put the Sounders match on for you. I’ve been to so many bars that won’t or act like it’s a big inconvenience.

A great place to go and chill, play some pool or darts. They also have ping pong out back that can get some heated games going on. It’s a dark, divey type bar but the wait staff is so ridiculously nice and the owner and main bar tender are probably two of my favorite bar tenders ever. The only thing I’d change about this bar is bigger tv’s, but this is easily one of my top 5 favorite bars. The food is ordered from rain city burgers which is probably the best burgers north of the cut, but because of that the food isn’t open as long as some pubs and the variety is pretty limited.

My favorite bar in all of Seattle. It is a basic, semi-dive that just serves up adult beverages to an easy-going clientele. The music is low, there are a few pool tables inside, a patio and ping pong table out back, and around 10 – 12 TVs showing sports at all times. NFL, NBA, NHL, MLB, etc. The owner and the bartenders are all great guys. Most of the regulars are a good group of people. Laid back yet friendly. Not a lot of college-aged alpha male D-bags pumping their fists at Teddys, thankfully. If you’re looking for a chill bar to just relax and enjoy a drink in the Roosevelt district, then come on down to Teddy’s.
