Seems like there is new staff here now. I honestly don’t get why people are complaining about the lady who works there, saying she is slow and messed up on sandwiches. You all say how bad she is, but yet you still comeback day after day. I dont care if shes slow. Id take friendly customer service over speed anyday. Obviously you know she is new and there is a bit of a language barrier, but she tries hard to accommodate customer needs. Id like to see some of the whiners get up behind the line and open by themselves at 5 in the morning. Sick of seeing ignorant customers come in.

I picked up a footlong at this Subway just a moment ago, let me tell you how it went. When the lady working there tried to cut the bread, she ripped it into pieces. So she tosses it back with the other breads and grabs another loaf. It also gets ripped in a couple places, but at least it stayed whole this time. Good job. Then comes dishing on the meat and cheese. Nothing too out of the ordinary there, except I noticed she stopped with a two inches left on one end. That’s right, one end of the sandwich was just bread. Goood job. Now I was in kind of a hurry at the time, so I didn’t want to have it toasted. But without asking she put it in the oven and just walked away to attend someone else. Gooood job. When she finally got back to my sandwich, I asked for the vegetables and condiments I wanted and she put them on. I said that was it and moved over the the register, ready to pay. However, as she slid my sandwich over to be wrapped, she spilled a good handful of the contents(lettuce, peppers, and onions, all covered with mustard) onto the metal counter. Not the area meant for plating the subs, but the metal counter with the register. What does she do? Grabs the spilled contents and proceeds to jam them back into my sandwich. Good ****ing job. Keep in mind that now her right hand, which is gloved at least, is now completely smeared with mustard. It ends up all over the bread of my sandwich, the wrapping, inside and outside the plastic bag and its handle area, and even the napkins. Holy ****, job well done. Hey, at least she took off her gloves when she took my credit card. I didn’t say anything throughout that whole ordeal, but I really should have. Honestly though, that was probably the best sandwich she’d made all day and I didn’t want to see how else she could mess it up. Here’s some advice from me to you: Don’t go to the Subway on the ave during the lunchtime hours on Wednesdays, cause that’s most likely this lady’s shift.

I’ve eaten at a lot of Subways. My kids like it, you always know what you’ll get and the price is right. The Subway in the U-District just changed hands. Probably because there are a LOT of food options in that area and that’s the way things go. The first time I went there with the new owner, I got a tuna. They really skimped on the tuna and I made a mental note to give it one more try. Today was the last day I’ll eat there. Had a half a meatball. It was sloppily made and I know this is a sloppy sandwich, but the thing fell apart when I unwrapped it. Secondly, it was BLAZING hot. WAY moreso that it should have been. Obviously, the warmer was set too high. Ended up burning my tongue and fingers trying to reassemble the thing. Won’t go back.

Let’s be really honest and clear, Subway is not my favorite and the bread tends to give me heartburn. That being said, every once in a while I crave it cause there are so many options. I went into this location today and the dude who helped me was super nice and made my food right. His name was Zak and he seemed genuinely kind and like a hard worker, which I really appreciated. If just based off of customer service it would totally be five stars today– but since its Subway, no matter how fancy it gets its still just a sandwich on iffy bread with pretty bland veggies.

Its exactly what you expect from a Subway, it has the best price of any subway I have ever been at. There quick and efficient. I feel horrible for the people they have to deal with on a daily basis. Looks like a bunch of cheap college kids who just want cheap hand outs or street trash. I eat here every day during the week, props to the staff, always the same 2 guys there always working. I would have lost it by now if I were them. Just stay away from the weekends, that’s a completely different animal

Man! Every day it’s the same 2 people working behind the line. They are super fast and actually make my food right. They are now charging(although I PERSONALLY have never been charged extra) for extra toppings? I consider that to be a good policy. I mean, what other subway charges SOLITTLE for their sandwiches? These prices are so insane that I don’t know how they stay open! I feel that it is well worth it to pay a little extra(and still be way under every other subway’s prices) to get my sandwich catered to the way I want it. They also charge for wrapping the halves of my sandwiches separately? The last subway I went to told me it would be charged as a completely separate sandwich to wrap separately(something to do with their inventory or whatever). I would much rather pay 25¢ versus the price of another sandwich. I am at this subway almost everyday and have seen that it is a great deal for what I get. Having watched what other people order and how they are always trying to get more and more for free is crazy. I have experience working in fast food and all of these things cost stores a good deal of money to provide. To everyone else that feel«slighted» or «cheated» by how much food they provide for such a low price, I challenge you to go work in the industry and get a good understanding of how these things work. As for me, I totally appreciate the great deals I can get there. There isn’t a better price: quantity sandwich shop around. They are also a little aggro to some people. If I had to deal with those rushes every day I would be too. Normally, they are very efficient with my order as I know what I want by the time I step up to the line. It seems as if they are better with people that know how a sandwich is made and, at least, know how to make decisions in a timely manner. Try it! The next time you go in there, know what you want and speak up and I would bet that your experience would be a lot smoother. :)

Update: they started charging extra for extra veggies and orders that are cut and wrapped separately.

Bad food, bad service. Some very dirty person on the front made bad sandwiches for me and my friends. 1) out of half of ingridients 2) was called for half an hour until he showed up 3) too much sauce 4) didnt cut the bread really deep enough 5) music sucks 6) extremely rude, when we needed napkins he was like«whaat» 7) put his knife on mu sandwich Go to the other 24-hour once.

Customer service is terrible. I have been to this store several times just to grab something cheap and quick. However, every time I go here the two guys working here always seem to do something deliberately to make the customers feel bad. Once I came here the two employees were just whispering to each other laughing while looking at the customers. They may have not been talking about the customers, but come on! Also, whenever I ask for all the vegetables on my sandwich, the worker seems a bit annoyed. To get revenge on you, he will overload your sandwich with hella sauce so once you get home to eat, the sandwich will be soggy as hell. I mean I never seen a worker so stingy about vegetables and then make half of the weight of the sandwich just sauce.

It’s a Subway, so you can’t expect much variation from the norm. This location has the benefit of being on the Ave. I don’t know whether you would call that a benefit, but it certainly is convenient for the UW student looking for a meal that costs less than six dollars. It’s apparently lighter and healthier than most of whatever else you can find in the area, and the food isn’t exactly bad. However, this place is pretty run-of-the-mill and you can’t expect much more than what you pay for. I don’t know how much each Subway store is allowed to customize its interior, but there’s not much about this restaurant that’s particularly memorable. I guess you could say there are other good reasons to eat here. They have the five-dollar foot-long for select sandwiches, which the stingy Subway at the By George Café does not have for some reason. More reason to march up the Ave, I suppose. It only applies to certain sandwiches, though. I once made the mistake here of getting everything on a foot-long and ended up having to shell out twelve dollars for it. They also have the sandwiches of the month to mix things up a bit. Additionally, they offer one free cookie for every sandwich if you get it late enough and present UWID. The food is all right. Nothing spectacular, but they allow you to load up on all the vegetables at no extra cost. The only catch is that it might become messy to eat if you have too much stuff in it. With the honey mustard covering the sandwich, it tastes even better. The people here in my experience are quick and efficient at making the sandwiches. They’ll cut it in half and wrap it up all nice for you, then put it in a plastic bag along with a napkin. The service here is good but nothing extraordinary, and you could say the same about the food. Since it’s so cheap, I find that this is a great place for the broke and starving college student to get lunch alone. But other than that, there’s really nothing special to say about this location.
