I’ve only had their curry(I’ve tried each kind — I live upstairs so it’s convenient), and it’s really good if you LOVE coconut milk. I do, so I like it, but I can understand why other people wouldn’t. The crab wontons are kind of weird, and friends that I’ve eaten here with said the pad thai was sweet and the noodles were inconsistent. For the curry, they’ll ask you what level spice you want, which is also very inconsistent. I always ask for ‘level 4′, and it’s always luck of the draw if I actually get that. Also, whenever I call in a pick-up order, I always have to call 4 – 5 times because they NEVER pick up the phone on the first call, even if they’re not busy. A few times they wouldn’t pick up the phone over the course of half an hour, so I went there directly to see if it was busy, figuring I could just place my order in person. Nope. Completely dead. So, good curry, everything else is very sweet and saturated in coconut milk, and horrible service. But! If you find something you like, the dinner servings are enough for 2 – 3 meals, so. That’s nice.

This is officially the worst food I’ve had in a long time. We got out of a movie and the first thing that caught our eyes was this restaurant. The server notified us she was having a meeting, so the kitchen would be closing soon, but we are fast eaters so we decided to stay. We sat down and ordered without looking at the menu, our food came within 5 minutes… The Pad Thai dish was SOSWEET, it literally gave me a toothache. The noodles were broken and mushy… It was so bad I couldn’t finish the dish. The Larb Gai was also EXTREMELY sweet as well, and instead of cabbage you get ice berg lettuce… Wtf We finished eating within 15 min and were out of there in under 20. This place gets one star because Unilocal doesn’t have anything lower, or else I’d give it no stars. Whoever gave this place 5 stars must love sugar and shitty food. I’m so disappointed I had to waste my $$ and stomach space for this… so incredibly disappointed.

I always go hear for a pre movie dinner. One of my favorite places to get curry, lots of great vegetarian options.

Food was great, but the service needs to improve. Lack in servers for such a hot spot in the evenings. On a different visit, i had ordered for pick up. Going in there were a couple parties ahead of me so i stood in line with them. More people come in and he only pays attention to them! Not to mention the girl behind me tries to cut me in line. We make eye contact but she still proceeds to speak first when its my turn. I had to speak up otherwise he would service her first when i’ve been there for 15 minutes. My food was already behind the counter in plain sight. I would just like it if they made a wait list. Or even LOOK at a customer who is waiting at the front desk. I had to be rude to even be noticed. That was my first time in my life having to do that.

Food was okay. Pad thai was sweet. Crab wontons was mostly shell. But the customer service was horrible. The server behaved very rude and showed faces when I asked her something. She just tossed the plate and the check on my table without even stopping by. Duh. will not be returning for the horrible treatment of customers. Pls teach them manners.

Convenient, quick and good. Not the best Thai food I’ve ever had but not the worst either. The Tom Kha soup is tasty, I like it with tofu or chicken. The summer rolls are healthy, but not that great tasting, could be improved with more variety of vegetable ingredients and less greens.

If you’re in the area, this is definitely a good place to go for Thai food. I came in with my girlfriends and the four of us shared: +Crab Wontons: There were 8 pieces which was just the right amount for us. The presentation was on point and I really liked how it was not drenched in oil. The wonton skin was flaky but crunchy on top and the cream cheese/crab filling was to die for. +Chicken Pad See Ew: It was a bit overcooked in my opinion as the noodles were pretty mushy but the chicken pieces were ginormous! They were not stingy at all about that. We asked for medium spice and it was still pretty mild for me but overall it was okay. +Chicken Red Curry: I usually don’t like curry but the red curry here is delicious; it had the perfect balance of flavors. The only downside was that the rice was also a bit too mushy. +Udon Tom Kha with Prawns: Very creamy and hearty soup with udon noodles and I was extremely surprised at the amount of prawns in the soup! The soup was very flavorful and well balanced with the coconut milk and herbs they used. I saw huge chunks of ginger in the soup which really gave it a great flavor. The udon noodles however, were undercooked. All in all, I would not mind coming back if I am ever in the area. Split between 4 people total, we each paid about $ 13 before tip each which is really really affordable.

I always enjoy visiting this place when I’m in the area. It can be pricey and service can be slow at times(usually they only have one server around) but their cooks are swift and food comes out promptly even if the place is packed. I enjoy the fact that when I say four out of five stars, I can actually taste the punch of spices with my food compared to other places that don’t seem to make your dish spicy. There’s also a little spice tray they’ll bring out if you want or need more in your dish. If you can’t finish it all in one sitting, they’ll gladly take your remains and pack it neatly in take out boxes for you as well. Another plus for me? Free underground parking and the movie theater across the street. Perfect setup for a date night where you can grab food before your film.

I recently moved to Northgate area and was super excited about this place because I love thai food, but I did not enjoy my food from here. I ordered take-out and got chicken pad thai, level 2. I swear it tasted like a level 10(even if they only go to 4). I couldn’t even take one bite without needing to suck on an ice cube to calm my mouth down. If what I had was truly a level 2, then a level 1 must also be pretty dang spicy, but a level 0 would be no spice so I don’t know what I can order from here. I couldn’t even eat half of my meal so I saved the rest for leftovers and tried eating it the next day. From what I could taste, the pad thai was pretty good. I just wish I could’ve enjoyed it more!

I have only been here for lunch. They give you a lunch menu which only has about 15 items on it. Prices range from $ 8 – 12 for lunch. I usually get the pad see ew or the pad kee mao. Both are really good in my opinion. I’ve also had the yellow curry. If you really like coconut milk, like really really like it, then this dish would be for you. For me, I do like coconut milk but if there was ever too much of a good thing, this curry/rice(which also contains coco milk) combo would be it. Today I decided I wasn’t impressed by the lunch menu so I asked if there were items I could choose from. Lo and behold, they brought me the dinner menu which is extensive and actually quite expensive for a thai restaurant with many dishes averaging $ 15.95 and a couple of the duck dishes running up to $ 21.95. Yikes for my wallet. I ended up ordering the papaya salad and although the textures were interesting, the fish sauce dressing was ladled on there and super spicy. It was edible but that was about it. The service here is amazing though! They always bring you a pre-meal soup which is a sweet and sour or egg drop soup. Yum! One time, I forgot my wallet so I had to leave my mom at the restaurant to go home and get it. The waitresses were very nice to my mom. They kept her company until I came back and were going to invite her to join them for their lunch hour. I was really touched by their kindness and patience with my clumsiness.

A little more gourmet than what I might have wanted, but It’s an a-ok meal. Yes, their main menu looked pretty usual for the american looking for something Thai… The Pad See Ew, yup… Pad Thai, yup… Satays? Yes. It’s all here and generally speaking they are fine. They don’t standout out, and perhaps just a tad bit more expensive than what I can find at other less trendy locations.(also, as a local, I can’t believe I’m writing that a place near Northgate, is trendy. but Thornton Place feels like it.) The shop is relatively small, and fits the neighborhood. It’s built to service the Thornton Place living community, and those visitors hitting up the theater or Northgate Mall itself. Plenty of underground parking, and sneaky parking at the mall too, across the street. What didn’t work, was the service. We were abandoned after the food came by, no refills on water, or even the scant question of how our food was. Seemingly, I saw other tables serviced more than ours. I guess we seemed to be happily conversing, but I was getting thirsty, and water was not to be had. The place is pretty a la carte, so be prepared to pay extra for things like rice… Okay, it the service was slightly better, and a few extras, for the extra cost of the item itself, maybe 4 stars, but right now, it’s 3 solid ones. Still recommended, if you are looking for something to eat.

I’ve passed by this venue many times, as this was my first time at this place. My bf & I ordered 2 different type of dishes & doing family style dinner. I liked how they posted their menu at the front entrance for guests to see before they dine in. Why 4 stars? I liked their set up, and the location is convenient for folks that lives nearby as well for movie goers that goes across the garden. The staff is really friendly and worked SUPER fast! The place also has full bar set up, which is probably a nice thing for the diners. Everything between the set up, location, drink selections, staff & pricing was decent. I wasn’t too pleased with the results of their food, when I ordered the Pad Thai, the noodle was not soft, and the sauce/spice wasn’t to my expectations. My boyfriend ordered some chicken dish, which we both thought were sliced chicken, rather we get chopped chicken mixed into the veggies & other stir fry ingredients. We got in & out within less than 1.5 hours, if we were in a movie rush, I’d suggest this place. It’s decent! :) #foodporn #foodie #food #thankyou #goodcompany #restaurantreview #restaurant #dining

Great food. Great service. I had Thai red curry and Panang curry. Both are very good. It’s litlle pricey, but the content is good for 2 people.

Came here for lunch and got their lunch combo, only $ 11! I got the Phad Thai and red curry combo and it was great! Phad Thai was a little on the dried side but better than most places I’ve been to before, and the red curry was well balanced between the flavor and the milk they used. The red curry is probably my favorite dish there! Service was great! Nice, friendly and quick!

Ok, so two years ago this place was a total loss. Other reviewers spoke of lawyers and pepto, but I’ve go to say the food and service have greatly improved. I will agree with one reviewer that the pad Thai is a little too sweet for my taste, but it’s ok. Beef and broccoli, and some fresh rolls were great. So, it’s ok to go there now.

Great food but scant service and a little bit pricier than the norm. My mom and I ventured in after searching for a place to eat around the mall. We were a little surprised to see that it was entirely empty on a sunny Saturday at noon, and we surmised it was due to their prices. They’re about $ 1 – 2 more expensive than other Thai places in the surrounding neighborhoods and they nickel and dime you for things like rice(which doesn’t come with the curry entrees by the way). The food itself was good, with some dishes being better than others. I ordered the massaman curry and it was about average in terms of flavor– creamy with a hint of spice, but not spectacular. There wasn’t much meat but the portion was pretty big. I easily made two meals out of it. But like I said, rice doesn’t come with the curry dishes(which is pretty silly, to me). My mom had the Thai Fusion noodles which were fantastic. Not as sweet as the typical pad se eew, but a very similar sauce. Lots of veggies cooked to slightly crisp, slightly tender texture. The portion was also quite big. The servers were pretty bored given that we were the only table and while they were polite, they didn’t check up on us once or offer to refill our water during the meal. Thai Fusion is much more Thai than fusion, but it has some unique dishes to offer. I did really like the way the interior was decorated and I think it’d be a great spot for a romantic dinner date. Its definitely a convenient choice if you want to have dinner and a movie.

I’m not really a Thai foodie, I always end up ordering pad see ew at any a Thai restaurant. With that being said, the options they offer as a fusion are alright. They have crab rangoon appetizers, these are pretty tasty. The service is great and attentive — they’re quick and seating and quick at serving food. I’ve been here a few times already, and like I said, I always get the chicken pad see ew. Their spicy meter runs from 1 – 4, if you like spicy you’d probably want to ask for a 4. The 2 is either really mild or not spicy at all. Portions are huuuuuge. I will have been eating my food for 20 minutes, look down, and somehow it’s all still there! I can never leave without taking a take-away box. Overall, great service, but I would stick with the traditional Thai options they offer. Thai iced tea and pad see ew are the only alluring Thai items I like, so taking that into account, this place is pretty decent. It earns a 4⁄5 for me.

Since this place is fusion, I decided to be adventerous and try the fusion spaghetti with shrimp. The ingredients were all Thai ingredients(bean sprouts, peppers, onions etc) and for the most part it looked like a Thai dish. However, the spaghetti texture didn’t really work and it just seemed really odd. It wasn’t spaghetti or Thai and the sauce wasn’t any sort of Thai dish I was familiar with. It wasn’t bad but it was odd and just ok. I think some fusion things are just not meant to go together. My friends’ not-so-fusion dishes looked better so that might be the way to go.

I love Thai food but this place just didn’t do it for me. My fiancé and I decided to eat here before the movies and so I order the chefs special(crunchy Pad Thai) — the test was. too rich and the«crunch» were just deep fried flour chips mixed in. Now the atmosphere was nice. It’s clean, great for families and good service. One does have to park a block down since there is no parking in the immediate area. I didn’t have a good. food experience my first time here BUT I’m willing to go back and try something different. Why not :)

This is a nice restaurant in Thornton Place. Given that this place is is a fusion bistro the menu has some interesting options, but you’re still very much able to order the traditional fare. Other than the tables, the décor is fairly nice and enjoyable. Three guys shared three entrees with drinks for just over $ 60. There was plenty of food to go around. All of it was delicious. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this place to a friend or return myself.
