Consistently good service but need to relearn how to make a simple mocha. A mocha without chocolate is MEH!

I’m glad this Tully’s hasn’t closed down. The workers here are very nice and quick. I’m addicted to their raspberry italian soda! I just wish it didn’t seem like it was closed a good portion of the time.

Great location, easy to go in and grab a bite to eat and something to drink and then go back to whatever you need to do within the convention center. I had my first Odwalla bars and juice here.(loved both) I had the Old School oatmeal probably 3 times. I recommend adding the cinnamon and chocolate. Yummy The workers are nice and realize how most of us are in a hurry. I liked that I could buy the gift card and get 10% more value. I used it all up the week I was there.

Great location Good service — even when the lines are long for busy conventions Delicious drinks Good rewards program — better than Starbucks’ gold card (Tip — buy discounted giftcards at Costco)

FANTASTICLYGOOD&QUICK! Love that! As I was waiting for a lunch to start in the Convention Center, there was a steady line at Tully’s on the 3rd floor. I was so glad that place was there, since I didn’t have time to stop by my usual U-District coffee shop on my way. SERVICE: Fantastic! The guy was working by himself, but handling all the orders quickly and no mistakes. I like that! QUALITY: Most excellent. True that most of the Tully’s are alike. But, this little out-of-the-way place single-employee shop did a most excellent job… with a bunch of people dressed up, checking their cell phones for text and emails. WOULD I GOTHEREAGAIN?: Definitely… if I’m at the Convention Center again.

To be honest, I don’t like the taste of Tully’s Coffee. I’d much rather drink coffee served at any other coffee shop. I was at the Convention Center for a conference and opted to get a coffee here(since I had limited options) and it really cemented my dislike for Tully’s. Aside from the baristas not being able to handle the long lines well, my coffee tasted bad(aside from it being Tully’s coffee). It tasted like the espresso shots in my latte were burnt and the milk hadn’t been steamed to the appropriate temperature. When I told the barista about it, he didn’t seem to care much about it(mumbled back something like you think the coffee is too sweet? No, I said the milk tastes burnt and milk temperature wasn’t right). Since he didn’t offer to remake it, I asked if I could just get some drip coffee instead of my awful latte. He obliged, but unfortunately even that tasted bad — simply by virtue of being Tully’s coffee.

Tully’s has taken over the area where Starbucks once sat.(Next to the Subway, on what I believe is the third floor of the Convention Center.) I prefer Tully’s over Starbucks — too many bad espressos at the latter. Plus, the food is better(Alki Bakery, I love you!) and they have milkshakes. Oh man, I love those milkshakes. Especially during the holidays when they have the peppermint ones… I digress. Here’s my Tully’s story — I went there one morning, on my way to work(I cut through the Convention Center) and decided I needed coffee. I needed coffee like a junkie needs a fix, and that’s where I was going to go. Double tall nonfat iced caramel macchiato, please. Except what they served me was a tall nonfat milk and caramel mixture. Yup — they forgot the espresso. I didn’t notice the light color(I’m not my best in the mornings) and I didn’t taste it til I got to work, so I had NOIDEA that this had happened. And let me tell you, I was NOT happy. Coffee drinks, especially the specialty ones, do not come cheap these days and I’m a working-class citizen who expects what she pays for. No coffee? No. In a fit of anger(which passed shortly), I went to their website and filled out a complaint form. I just needed to vent — you know how it is. I still loved Tully’s, but the side of me that runs off of caffeine had taken over and I was in a fury. Within a half an hour I received a call on my cell phone(I left the number on a whim) from the manager of that store. I was calmer then and explained what happened and he acknowledged my unhappiness and we agreed that as this was a new store, it was likely a slip-up…hey, we’re all human here. And then he gave me a free drink(my choice) and pastry(my choice) as an apology. Tully’s, I love you.
