Brought a friend in for lunch on their recommendation. Location is easy to get to and has free valet parking. We were promptly seated and the waiter brought out some oilves and warm bread, both were very good. I ordered the Caesar salad with anchovies to start. The salad was a good size, not overly dressed and served with toasted garlic chips. The anchovies were outstanding, soft, not bony and full of flavor. Well worth the extra $ 3. I opted for the ravioli special which was six large ravioli filled with broccoli rape and spicy sausage and serve with a tomato, porcini and long hot sauce which paired quite well. For the price the size was more than I expected and I should have taken some home. But I am a cavone, so I ate the whole damn thing. They brought out dessert menus but all I could handle was a rich double espresso which the waiter graciously refilled after I had paid the check. Very good restaurant and I would return for dinner to try more of their entrees.

Amazing food. Fresh, well prepared and you literally want to lick the plate — but you won’t because you have manners.

Only reason this is a one star rating and not a zero is because the food was actually decent but the service was terrible. It took them at least 15 minutes for drinks to be served. I only asked for water and my boyfriend only asked for an iced tea. The waiter was quick to take the order but disappeared after that. The appetizer took almost 30 minutes to come and that was the last time we saw him. Another waiter dropped off the food and my order was incorrect. I asked for penne pasta, I was served spaghetti. The waiter did not check on our dinner at all. We had to ask another waiter for a desert menu. At that point, we had no interest in ordering anything else after that. I love Italian food but I will never return to this restaurant.

The food is decent, but the service is terrible because they are usually understaffed. New Year’s Eve was a disaster!!! They had a package deal for $ 160 a person which included open bar. Well, they mismanaged the crowd, you couldn’t get near the bar for a drink, by the time we sat for dinner, the waiter had too many tables so we had to constantly flag him down. Never got a second drink, and when asked for a bottle of champagne — we were told only glasses!!! Open bar my ass! We will NEVER return!

Went their last month for a Drup Rep Lecture Dinner. The 2nd time in that same month. Both of my experiences were very good. The appetizers were great, we ordered the fried calamari in polenta flour, and my wife ordered the langostino arriabiata. For Dinner we had the Bronzini, and I ordered the Veal Salti en Boca; both were very good. Wine was(eh) but heck, it was all for free. I would go back to this place and pay for a meal for me and my family. A bit pricey, but worth it.

I recently came here with a group of friends for dinner. The restaurant was packed, so they must be popular. The interior was beautiful, both modern and elegant. Unfortunately I was disappointed with my experience. While the employees were friendly, the service was slow. The food was nothing special, which is surprising for an authentic Italian restaurant in the northeast Jersey area.

Food and service superb! Have been going there for years, since this new management the atmosphere is romantic and open. You don’t feel like you are on top of the people next to you. If in a wheelchair, it very friendly.

very solid. I would recommend for a business dinner. Not quite what I would want for a romantic evening. The menu covered everything you would want out of a NY/NJ Italian restaurant. I like to eat at the bar when I travel. I think the small bar here falls a little short in terms of size and warmth.

Food… service …ambience. Only one issue… Caused a huge fight between My wife and I(over the last bite of the tiramisu).

Complimentary valet parking. We didn’t make a reservation on a Monday night. It was a mistake, as although there were some open tables, the hostess served some drinks to seated parties while we waited to be seated. It was annoying. Though when we were seated, it was a nice dining room. It looked like there was a semi private room off to the side. Bread and garlic bread was served along with mixed olives. The menu was somewhat different than that on the website. I ended up ordering a homemade black spaghetti with Maine lobster arm shaved bottarga arrabiata. It was really unique and delicious. I would probably go back for it.

Finally a restaurant with excellent service and food. To be honest we were going to Edge Water for dinner but it started raining and decided not to venture out too far. But I’m beyond glad we stopped for dinner at Bareli’s. As soon as we stepped out we were greeted by a very friendly valet. Made our way inside and the hostess was also very nice. All in all everyone from the bus boys to the bartenders, waiters and everyone in between were great. It’s refreshing to go to a place and be attended to by great staff. On to the food. For appetizers we had the tuna, very good and the salad it came with was super fresh and zesty. For entrees the filet and lamb were well seasoned and correctly cooked. The flourless chocolate cake was a home run. This place is great. Whoever is running this place should pat themselves on the back for a job well done! Bareli’s please don’t change!

Came here for dinner on a weekday night. Wasn’t too crowded which was exactly what I wanted. The atmosphere was very classy on the inside. You would never know it from the outside. It has a very sophisticated feel. Had some wine to start– average. I ordered the zuppe de pesce which was tasty. My friend ordered the porkchop which was probably the best porkchop I have every tasted. I highly recommend it! Service was great as well.

I remember coming here a few years ago and thought it was okay, but needed some updating and it wasn’t anything I would rave about. In fact my parents took me and they wouldn’t go back. Now, it’s absolutely beautiful and I love bringing people here. It’s very trendy, sophisticated, upscale, and classy. When you walk inside you feel like you’re on a yacht or a cruise, it has this awesome summer theme with a cute little beach bench and beautiful colors painted on the walls. After the main entrance is the bar area which has a small beautiful rectangular bar with few tvs. Every bartender I’ve met there is super nice too. Past the bar area is the the main dining room which I love! It’s super trendy looking, very Manhattan-esque. I love the plush, comfortable chairs, I could stay there for hours. They also have a room past the main dining area with a fire place that’s a bit closed off, so I suppose if you asked to be seated in there, you could have some extra privacy. It’s really cute. Moving on, I came on a Saturday a few weeks ago and they had a guy planning live music which was nice and the place wasn’t super crowded, which allowed for a great dinner without shouting at one another. The service is excellent, they check up on you constantly and there’s always enough servers so if your server is busy, you can ask someone else for whatever it is you need. Last time I went we had baked clams oreganata, which comes in the most delicious lemon, wine and butter sauce & the tuna tartare which was also tasty. Both dishes were a bit small, so we ended up ordering a few apps. For dinner they offered about 6 different specials, one of them being a pasta dish in a spicy marinara sauce with lobster. I asked if he could make the dish in a different kind of sauce, like a piccata sauce, and the chef was happy to accommodate. Everyone I was with loved their food too. One of the owners, Liam, is a super nice guy, and he made sure to come over, say hello and make sure we were pleased with our experience. They have an excellent wine menu and the food menu has a lot of options too, and as I stated earlier, they are happy to accommodate your requests, which is nice. We had the flourless cake for desert which was tasty and some after dinner drinks. We were treated exceptionally well. Definitely recommend checking out!

I had a large group dinner that was great. The service was perfect and food was excellent. All the apps were very good and the the meatballs were excellent. I ordered a veal special. They had a name for but I usually refer to it as Veal Saltibocca. It is a dish that I order at most Italian restaurants and their version of it was one of the best I had in years. Well done! This place is not much to look at from the outside but great for a solid meal.

I came in for a business lunch, all scruffy, fresh from a warehouse site visit. I felt way under-dressed, but the staff greeted me warmly. My chair was pulled out and pushed back in by the staff EVERY time I got up. My napkin was refolded every time I walked away. The service was great from beginning to end! They made me feel like a lady… as scruffy as I was. The food is excellent. The guys the flanked me had their fish on a bed of veggies. Nice plating. I ordered the pork chop, medium well. My manager laughed as he saw my plate coming. The picture I posted does NOT do it any justice. My pork chop was massive! It was seasoned just right and cooked evenly throughout. I usually tackle all-things-pork in one sitting, but I had to toss in the towel on this one. I took my leftovers home and sucked the bones off dry! Delish! My overall experience was perfect. Décor and ambiance was nice and warm. The service was fancy… the prices were not. Food was delicious. Every appetizer and plate was thoroughly enjoyed. P.S. Slam dunk on that olive oil! Had my of-so-Italian director wooing about it and my manager trying to figure out how we could take some with us.

My boyfriend and I came here for our first anniversary dinner. We both grew up in Secaucus since we were born and have never had the chance to eat here. We both absolutely loved it! We came on a Monday evening and it was not very busy. Valet was quick and easy and upon entering I really liked the atmosphere and décor. We were told that they recently renovated. We started off with wine and 2 appetizers: grilled calamari and jumbo lump crab with avocado. I have never tried grilled calamari. It was served in a red sauce and the flavor and texture was very enjoyable. The grilled taste made it so good. In the future I would definitely choose grilled over fried. the jumbo lump crab was great. nice sized portion and the avocados were perfectly ripe. I loved both of these appetizers. On to the entrees: my boyfriend had one of their specials, sausage and broccoli rabe raviolis in an arrabbiata sauce. He loved it. I went all out and got the pan seared filet mignon. On the menu it says it comes with a diane sauce which is mustard based. I asked our server if I could get a red wine reduction instead and there was no issue with this request. The whole dish came out perfect, the reduction was to die for, and every bite had me overwhelmed with happiness and pleasure(I reallllllly love steak and this was just great). We both managed to finish our dishes, which I didn’t expect. I had booked our reservation through Open Table and made a note that we were coming to celebrate our anniversary. We looked over the dessert menu and decided to share the coconut sorbet since we were pretty stuffed. They brought it out on a big white plate that read«Happy Anniversary» with hearts and a candle! It was very nice of them to do :) and the sorbet was a delicious ending to our incredible dinner. Thinking about it, I can’t find one complaint about our experience from start to finish. Our server Carlos was great and we got to meet the owner and all of that good stuff. If you don’t like how a dish is listed on the menu, or don’t see something you want in the menu, they’ll be happy to accommodate your wishes. While it is pricey it was certainly worth it for this special occasion. I wouldn’t hesitate choosing this restaurant to celebrate something very special in the future. If it were cheaper I’d try to grab dinner here more often. but it is a bit out of my price range. We left happy, full, and beyond satisfied. Hope I can come back here in the near future!
