Very good to excellent. Service was a bit quirky, but overall a very good meal. The goat dish was fantastic, the shrimp dish in a coconut sauce even better. We also had a spicy red shrimp appetizer, I don’t remember the names of any of the dishes, sorry. But Dhoom knows how to cook shrimp! Most places hammer shrimp, totally overcooked. Dhoom does a light cook on the shrimp, leaving them perfectly tender. Outstanding. Naan breads were very good, not spectacular. If I lived in the Seacaucus area, or anywhere nearby, this would be a regular stop, no question.

Had the worst takeout experience… I was really hungry and wanted to eat healthy so ordered the tandoori salad once I came home and opened there was just 3 piece of paneer … Called the hotel but the response was bad

Totally a fan. The service was great. ambiance was good. food was fantastic. We ordered a lot and it only came out to $ 70? I don’t know about you but whenever I go to an indian spot the bill is always outrageous– so I can deal with $ 70! Food: — Cumin rice — nice change compared to always getting the plain regular basmati rice. — Garlic nnan– can you ever go wrong with this? — chicken tikka — probably one of the best I’ve tried. Such rich flavor and the chicken was very tender — cauliflower/peppers vegetarian dish — I would pass on this. I felt like I kept bitting sand or some hard grainy thing… it was weird. — mango lassi — a must. — chaat(app) — very little portions sadly. but awesome nonetheless — samosa(great texture– crispy outside and great flavor inside) Definitely recommend! location is a little weird cause its like on the side on the highway?

This was an unexpected find in the Secaucus area and are we glad to find it! Although Journal Square area might be more popular for Indian food restaurants, none of them come close to the Indian food quality offered in Dhoom. We have been visiting it for over a year now and have never been disappointed. If you really want to try the distinct flavors of different Indian dishes, do give this a try. You will see that the chefs do make an effort in every dish and not all curries taste the same. We have tried their dinners, lunch boxes as well weekend buffets and have never seen them compromise on the food quality. Staff is very friendly. They have a dedicated parking lot which makes it very convenient.

Simply the best! My favorite weekend lunch place. Their buffet $ 13.99 offers great variety of vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes and everything is yummy. Always good service, Waiters are very attentive and friendly. If I could give this place more stars, I would.

Probably one of the worst dining experience I’ve had in decades — although the food wasn’t horrible per se, the service was scandalous — we couldn’t get menus or anyone’s attention for 3 hours — I’m pretty sure they’re going out of business since a lot of the menu items are unavailable as well as wines. Staff was 2 waiters for 80 people and 1.5 chefs working in the kitchen including a Mexican dude. To top it off, these guys had the nerve to automatically add 18% gratuity for a party of 7 who had to wait 3 hours for dinner — an absolute scandal how this place operates I wish I could take them to court for gross negligence.

I went to this establishment last night for date night with my girlfriend and the décor was very sexy. We loved it. We came on a groupon and there was no mishaps with it at all. Appetizer: We had the cauliflower appetizer which was very good and flavourful. Main course: chicken curry, with rice, lentils, i had the halibut with rice. My meal was somewhat on the dry side so I added the lentil gravy to my dish to give it some flair. Our lassi’s were good but small. Dessert: we had a «bread pudding» and it looked liked two small crackers in a coconut milk syrup with brown sugar. All in all, the experience was eh at best. I probably wont return to this establishment.

One of the finest Indian cuisine I have found in this area. Such a brilliant concept of incorporating the whole Bollywood theme into the décor of the restaurant. The interior lightings were just so perfect, making the atmosphere so cozy and lounge-y. We came here on a Friday night to get dinner before a movie at the Kerasotes. It was quite a search due to the limited dining options in Secaucus, but I’m so glad I came across Dhoom on my search. Excellent customer service from the seating hostess as well as our server. Wide selection of drinks and they have some great original cocktails on the menu. I totally got hooked to the Indian punch! We ordered samosas for appetizer and chicken curry accompanied with rice and naan. All of which was super delicious. Just some tips: one entrée and one order of rice are quite enough for 2 people. If you come here in a group, I’d definitely recommend ordering few different things to be shared ;)

Have passed by this place many times but never gave it a try until I saw it listed on Groupon. For $ 55 you get an order of naan, an appetizer, two entrees, one dessert and 2 glasses of either house wine or a cocktail. You walk into a very Bollywood themed decorated restaurant. Music playing but not too loud so you are still able to hear each other talk. Service was excellent. Out server(Antonio?) must have sensed it was our first time eating Indian food and he quickly explained everything and even offered great suggestions on what to order. Starter: shenyang cauliflower. Tastes almost like sweet and sour chicken. Very yummy! Entrees: goat birayi: it came in a bowl mixed with rice and covered with naan. Don’t let the small bowl fool you! There is so much food in there. It was extremely spicy so if you don’t like that, beware. It was just perfect for me! My b/f had the chicken madras, chicken cooked with coconut, chilies and spices which came with lentils, saffron rice and yogurt on the side. The yogurt is excellent for cutting the spice when you feel your mouth is on fire ;-). Dessert: chowringhee rasmalai: cheese dumplings in reduced milk. Not too sweet and very different from anything I’ve tasted but still very good. Drink: Indian punch.

Came here due to great Unilocal reviews. Also used a groupon. The manager seems stuck up but he gave us complimentary daal. He might just be like that personality wise. Food was pretty delicious, I have to say. Loved the chicken Karahi and the shrimp appetizer is just tooooooo good!!! Must try! Worth a trip for sure– non desi people will be amazed. If a desi person appreciates a place, that’s great.

It’s a nice restaurant with great service and atmosphere. It has the Bollywood theme to it. Came here on a Groupon and it was completely worth it. The food is delicious. My husband loves the Undi and chana saag. He states that it tastes the way his mom cooks it. I didnt have a good experience on the malai kofta — the kofta ball is a paneer texture, which is not suppose to be like that, but the saice was good. The chicken tikka masala was great. My kids love the food n of course atmosphere. It’s a kid friendly environment, which is a saving grace. The peshwari naan, is excellent and should not be passed on, a must get. The Kulfi is a hit on our table, jist pure sweetness — kids loved it. Thank you for making it a great experience for all of us. It’s hard to go out with our little kids for they can be loud and disruptive. Our waiter, which we have had twice on the 2 occasion we have been there has been excellent, superb and awesome. The waitstaff was purely heaven and patient with us. Oh, don’t forget the Mango mojito… u will love it… i wanted to order more glass if i weren’t having to put little ones to bed… lol

Delivery took forever. It took em at least 1.5 hours. Delivery guy came, and nonchalantly dropped off the food. No apologies, nothing. I wished I did not pre-tip while ordering. Food was cold. Roti was cold. May have been delicious if it arrived on time, but we will never know.

This place has high reviews, and my bride to be wanted to have a nice dinner for her bachelorette weekend. She’s vegetarian and gluten intolerant, and Indian cuisine works wonderfully for her needs. Reservations were simple and done online; they send a confirmation email perhaps the next day. The food and atmosphere are excellent. They go with a Bollywood theme, having stars on the walls, and MTV India on the TV. The area where they prepare naan is surrounded with glass so that you can watch it being made. We ordered several dishes to share with the entire table, including: Crispy Cauliflower Lentil Dumplings Spinach Paneer Spinach and Corn cakes Lentil dal Chickpea Masala Garlic Naan Spinach and Goat Cheese Naan My favorite dishes were the cauliflower and the dal. The cauliflower came in a spicy sauce that wasn’t too spicy, and the flavor shone through. The lentils in the dal had a sweetness that worked so well with naan… mmm… I only had two criticisms: one, it’s not in a great location. You have to enter 3 where cars are speeding along to get into the parking lot. Secondly, we were done eating long before I managed to track someone down to ask for the check and boxes to go. I’d have thought they’d want us out faster themselves.

Been here twice. Food is good. We usually ask for spicing up the food and they take a good care of that . I was also there for the restaurant week. The entrée portions were good but they served just one piece of chicken tikka as applitizer and just one gulab jamun in desert. It really looked odd to see just one tikka. one gulab jamun in huge plates. I also find the prices to be bit on higher side !!

My family and I have been here two times already and we absolutely love the service and food. It is pricier than most Indian restaurants however the food is well worth it. The first time we dined here we were treated very well because a family member knew the owner. We didn’t know what to order so the server suggested different plates for us to try. And let me tell you they were all fantastic. We recently came here with some family again and of course all our expectations were met. We tried the chicken hariyali kabab which was tender, juicy and so flavorful. We also had the cauliflower manchurian which was crispy and perfectly seasoned. For the main courses we tried the Goa to Delhi lamb vindaloo, the chicken curry, the paneer makhani, the dal makhani, the peshawari chana, the Hollywood mushroom, rice, garlic naan and ended with the kulfi. My favorites from all of these were the daal makhani and the chicken curry. Both were perfection!

This review is for the current Groupon that allows you to share 2 drinks, 1 app, Naan, 2 main course dishes + 1 desert for $ 55. This deal is still available & I suggest you grab it before its gone! Honestly, this was a lot of food for 2 people, but we are not complaining. We started off with the Madras Pepper Shrimp — a curried, garlicky shrimp that comes on a tortilla chip. If you like spice, you’ll love this. From the main course we opted for the Kakori Kababs & the Murgh Haryali Kabab. The Kakori is an established favorite and scored over the green murgh(chicken) kabab for us. Maintaining the authenticity of the scared tandoor(flame grill) is the specialty of Dhoom and till they keep doing that, we’ll make sure to keep going back for more. By far the best kababs in New Jersey. The meal was accompanied by Black Daal, Naan and White rice(at no extra charge) and the daal was a great accompaniment to the grilled delicacies. To wrap it all off, the manager Vivek S, suggested Kulfi falooda & we went with it. He also surprised us with complementary Ras Malai and it was absolutely fresh and luscious. If I had to choose though, I would opt for the Kulfi, because it was so good — just like it’s back home in Bombay. Happy to report that the service this time was top notch and had the personal touch. The manager was great with his suggestions and a special mention for the innovative drinks menu with many Bollywood theme drinks like the Sholay 75 — a flaming cockatail named after the 1975 Bollywood Western blockbuster Sholay(flames!). We had a great time and left with plenty of leftovers.
