I was not pleased with Secaucus Ice Rink. First off, it is outdoor arena, so it gets down to 0 degrees which is hard for hockey players like me who have to train at that freezing arena. Second, the locker rooms are to small. My team (which has about to 12 – 16) are cramped in these small locker rooms. I bet these rooms were made for a team of mites. Not to say it is freezing in these rooms also. 3. The ice is in horrible condition. There is pigeon droppings scattered around the ice surface. Since there is no tarp to cover the inside of the rink so pigeon are able to enter the rink. So if you are reading and you are in charge of this Ice Rink, it needs to be revamped with better funding.

What can I say about this place. First it’s an outdoor facility, so it will be cold. My son’s Hockey team practice at this place twice a week. His first practice was 2 hours long and it was a cold night. It didn’t help that the tarp covering the Rte 3 side of the building was blown off during Sandy. So let’s just say it was brutal. Despite the cold it was a nice rink and had good parking. Unlike Pershing Ice rink in JC they have an area for the parents to keep warm. The only negative was the locker room which was a bit cold.
