Great coffee although a tad bit expensive. Will be back for the food as the menu looks good!

Far and away the best bagel in NJ. Good, speedy service. They do sell out rather early so try and get there before noon for the full selection.

Clean, fresh, and delicious. A little on the pricier side but overall great place to eat.

The prices seem to keep rising and the service is going down. What’s funny is I recall many years ago when there was an issue with wheat, bagel buffet posted sign inside the store about how they had to raise their prices. Do you think they ever lowered the prices? The opposite the prices kept going up. I am officially done with this location and I recommend you do not waste your time. Hopefully they will see the feedback from their customers and react but I will not hold my breathe.

This place is overpriced and there is usually a longer wait than you’d have at other bagel shops. I come here from time to time due to its location and they often mess up my order. Sometimes my breakfast sandwich is missing cheese, sometimes I’ll order something on the menu and they have no idea how to make it and have to ask around to find the one magical person who knows what a «Reuben» is and how to make it(it is on their menu fyi). Then the cashier gets the sandwich and has no idea how to ring it up or what it is. Last time I as in there I ordered a pork roll, egg and cheese on an everything bagel. I literally had to repeat my order three times(four times in total) because the person who was helping me kept talking to a co-worker and asked me to repeat myself because he would tune me out halfway through to continue the convo with his coworker. And despite me telling this person my order FOUR times they STILL got it wrong. How is that even possible? Haven’t been back since. It’s clear they don’t care about service or the quality of the food anymore. They also put everything in styrofoam to go containers. I’m not a hippy who is going to complain about styrofoam, but it makes the food soggy. Not sure why they don’t use a sheet of tin foil like every other bagel shop in NJ/NY. Food would maintain itself better.

I had a Cobb salad today and my daughter had a bagel with veggie cream cheese. Whenever I’m in the area I always come here to eat. No matter what I get I’m never disappointed. It’s usually busy but the service has always been good.

WAYYYYYYYYYYYYTOOEXPENSIVE. I wanted to start off with that because my star rating for price alone would be a 1. However, the bagel I had was delicious. It was whitefish salad on a whole wheat everything bagel. The bagel could be a little bigger, but it was fine. The price of that bagel was $ 7.44! I grew up in New York and its even cheaper there! Theyd definitely have more business if it werent for the prices. I cant see myself spending $ 8 a day for breakfast.

For breakfast, they’re great. Bagels are made well. However be prepared to wait as they take a while to make their sandwiches. Lunch on the other hand is a different story. Every time I go there for lunch and order a hot sandwich, it’s cold. I specifically order something off of the hot sandwich section of their menu only to have it be ice cold when I receive it. If this only happened once I’d let it go but it has happened multiple times. They are also very expensive.

Egg sandwich= 1 egg= $ 2.85. Why even give a one egg sandwich option? I am basically eating all bread. Overpriced and average tasting food. They are only popular because its the only breakfast spot.

Make sure to check your order before you leave! On 3 occasions they screwed up my order, Egg and cheese on a bagel… gave me a tuna sandwich. Mini bagel with cream cheese… gave me an egg and cheese on a regular bagel. Turkey sandwich on a roll w lettuce and vinegar… gave me turkey with tomato and mayo… basically they give you whatever theyre in the mood to eat, so I leave the place with a sandwich I’ve paid for but don’t even eat. Then you call to let them know but whats the point when you’re on the road in the opposite direction. How about you just get the order I repeated to you, twice, correct. In the event they do get your order right the taste is there; the service is not.

Good not great yet people who live in secaucus glorify this place, over the years the service has dramatically gone down and the prices haven’t stopped climbing. I simply don’t understand why, I mean is the rent that expensive lol. But on another note fresh bagels everyday and they do have a great selection on cream cheese and muffins. More beverages then a convenient store and coffee is good not great but better then Dunkin Donuts at a better price if not the same. Food:Good Selection:Great Price:You can pay less for bagels on Lexington Ave. Service:Needs improvement

If you ask any of the locals tho, they will always say something great about this place, it truly is yummy. Choices, choices and choices. ive been here a few times and always happy with what i can choose from. I underestimated the scallion cream cheese — at first i didnt think it would have enough flavor but it does. However, the egg salad looks gross – been avoiding it. Coffee is always fresh and tastes good. Downfall is the service. Seems to be a bit slow here. Everything is very reasonably priced too!

I’ve wanted to review Bagel Buffet Secaucus for sometime now, but never got around to it. After my husband came home with an incorrect order AGAIN, I decided I had had to say something.(Please know that it’s our own fault that we’ve continued to patron this establishment.) Like many other unsatisfied customers: 1) The prices are ridiculously high for the amount of food you get. 2). Orders are always wrong. I understand that mistakes happen, but THEYWRITEDOWNYOURORDER. How is it possible that so many mistakes are consistently made? The employees don’t care. 3) Despite this, it is often crowded, which may be a result of the terribly slow service. They occasionally try to «speed up» helping customers by having someone take down everyone’s order at once. The only problem with this is when you’re the first person in line because then you have to wait for the rest of the line to place their orders before you can be helped! In the time that you wait for your order to be pulled from the top of the pile, that employee could have simply helped you and you could have been on your way. It’s a good idea in theory, but it just feigns urgency to help customers; in reality it’s just a great way to frustrate them. … and I’d like to add something new to the reviews: A couple of weeks ago I was in the store, and a man standing by the drinks was on his phone making a scene. He was repeatedly screaming, «F*CKYOU» and other profanities into his cell.(Thankfully there were no children around.) After the call ended, he walked behind the counter into the back of the store. It was obvious that he worked at Bagel Buffet, but I didn’t know who he was. It was only after I came on Unilocal did I realize who this was. He’s the business owner, Richard D! I recognized him in his Unilocal profile picture! The business owner was screaming profanities at the front of his own store. Classy. Continue to shop here, but at your own risk.

I’m new in town and I was looking for a bagel place. This place seems to have a ton of selections. I grabbed a menu. It looks like they deliver. I have yet to order delivery to my new place though, it seems like a lot of places in the area are chain restaurants. My pumpernickel bagel with egg and cheese was pretty good. I also had a cappuccino that was enjoyable, more so than many places that often put in too much milk. The employees weren’t that friendly. I felt like I was being ushered a long in a cafeteria line, by people who hate their lives(maybe it’s true?). Safe to say I had an alright experience, but the search for my new spot doesn’t end here.

The service is getting worse and worse. And apparently, going on a Sunday of a holiday weekend is the kiss of death. The employees couldn’t care less about the customers. I paid over $ 20 for 2 salads, only to get home and see that they were both COMPLETELYWRONG. I understand that mistakes happen, I’m in the service industry myself(for almost 20 years) but when the ingredients are clearly listed, there is no excuse for BOTH salads to be made incorrectly. It wouldn’t be as irritating if the employee didn’t act like we were inconveniencing him.

I stopped in recently with my husband to grab some bagels and cream cheese and breakfast sandwiches. The place was on the crowded side, but the employees were efficient. My husband and I both had a bacon, egg and cheese sandwich on a bagel. The sandwich was very good. Everything tastes fresh and I really liked the bagel. The restaurant has many different breakfast and lunch options. I would definitely return.

I ditto Chris P’s review below but add a star. «Yes, they are overpriced. Yes, they get very busy and sometimes mess up your order. However, at the end of the day, Bagel Buffet gets so crowded because their food is so good. I left many, many more times satisfied than disappointed.» their bagels are super fresh. I LOVE their whole wheat everything scooped out and toasted with low fat veg cream cheese.
