The service was phenomenal; food was great for the price. There was barely any wait time for the food, which I liked. The coffee was a bit weak, but that’s my personal taste. I would recommend this place for others.

Interesting place. It very well be considered a dive but the food is good and large portions. It is a very dated place. The floors are a little slippery. The original New York greasy spoon.

Whew! Been coming here for years now, and never wrote a review Regarding my many experience. So firstly, this place gets packed! Stupidly packed, especially during the weekend hours(go figure, right) I mean people bumping into other people kind of packed. It’s a tiny little hole in the wall hidden between the home of the monstrous Selden sandwiches. Add a swarm of half of selden into a nook equipped with seven tables… Best to call in the order and save it for the ride or to eat at the house. Trust me. Although, eating here when people are off doing other things is actually quite peaceful, love the atmosphere and the people who have literally been there since I’ve been a kid. I always get the«hungry man» sandwich, to me it is just the best for the money, which most items on the menu is decently priced regardless. And out of the many dozens of times where I’ve ordered this epic Goliath of a sandwich(literally over 1000, easily) they’ve only messed up a handful of times. I highly recommend this adorable little place that packs a whollip when it comes to food. Just if you do not like crowds, and familiar faces… Call ahead, and before 12! Kitchen closes at 12

So happy I moved to Selden from Brooklyn just to find this place located down the block from me. Best hot breakfast around!

The Nook is one of those places that would fit on Diners Drive Ins and Dives. The food is incredibly good. The staff is extremely friendly. The portions are nice. The place is very plain looking but the rest of it is well worth it. A little known gem. I generally get an egg white omelet with tomatoes mushrooms and cheddar, Side of bacon and hot tea. The omelet ingredients are tasty, well cooked and hot. Bacon is always perfectly cooked. Toast is toast(not like some diners you go to where you get warm bread) and I make my own tea at the coffee/tea station so it is always perfect. :) Love this place.

I have to disagree with the other reviewers. There is nothing excellent about this place. I love a simple breakfast: fried eggs, sausage or bacon, toast, coffee. Perhaps some fresh fruit. Not here. The eggs are Restaurant Depot cheapies and have no taste whatsoever.(Yes, eggs are supposed to have flavor.) The bacon is average. Sausage inedible. Hash browns are mush. Coffee is fine – if you don’t mind Styrofoam. I guess the toast is good. And it all arrives on a paper plate. The décor is cafeteria left-overs. The TV is always on. It’s a shame. This could be a nice local place with only a minimum amount of effort and I’d be there a few times a week. Until I hear it has changed, I’ll eat at home.

I love this little secret gem hidden behind Heroes. I always get the three egg omelets which are huge and delicious. Comes with home fries and a bread side. The English muffins are always a little on the super toasty side, but that kind of just makes me think of home, so I don’t mind it. Their French toast is great, too!

Best place to grab breakfast — bar none! Friendly staff that successfully creates an atmosphere that will rival any ones Sunday morning family breakfast in their own kitchen. This place, in a sense, becomes your kitchen and meals are made as if mother herself made them for you. A definite stop whenever you are in the area!

This place actually does make excellent breakfast, and it is nice you can sit down at a table to eat it. However, I come from the school that breakfast meals should be FAST. I have been here several times, and have waited no less than 10 minutes for something simple like the classic bacon egg and cheese sandwich. They have a huge kitchen in the back staffed by people that look like they are going nuts. The front is staffed by 15 year olds on the weekend, and getting your order taken is not that bad. But you would think that a place that busy with a huge kitchen would organize it better. It seemed as if only one person was cooking everything. I would be like hey you sit there and crank out eggs and meat, you cook pancakes and stuff, and someone assembles the stuff. They just do not seem to have a good system going there. I mean I appreciate the food quality, but it simply does not take a long time to cook up a mean breakfast. If you got time to kill this place is an excellent choice as they cook up stuff fresh. Other b-fast places have a mountain of meats that were cooked @5am but it seems like they make it good here.
