Sooooooooo good. Not to mention the service. Second to none.
Three blind mice, is a must try for a dark beer.

Finally got carry out from here. I had the Carolina. I feared it would be soggy by the time I got home but it was perfect. The onion straws are incredible. The coleslaw was perfect as a topping, not soupy. The pork was lean and flavorful. Bbq sauce is just the right sweet and spicy balance. I had the beans as my side. Very thick with a lot of meat. The beans were firm and not mushy.
Husband had brisket and fries. Again meat was lean. No visible fat. Very tasty. Simple white bread but it held the sandwich well. The fries are different. They aren’t crispy. At first I thought they wouldn’t be good but they are. The texture isn’t what you expect but the flavor is great. They taste like a potato skin.
Looking forward to going back.

I have been to a lot of BBQ places and Blind Box BBQ has just become one of my favorites. I got the combo platter which was a bit pricey but everything on it was great. Sausage, burnt ends, baby back ribs all great. The ribs were especially good which I find is pretty rare for a bbq joint because they are easily overcooked. The combo platter also comes with two sides of which there are many to choose from. The fries were pretty decent and the mac and cheese was good too.
One nice surprise about Blind Box BBQ is that they offer non-​BBQ options like steak sandwiches and chicken BLTs. This is nice if you want to go out to BBQ with someone who isn’t in the mood for the classics.
Finally, while the restaurant is located in a sort of strip mall the inside has a cool cowboy vibe too it and a respectable line up of beers at a bar. If you are looking for a new BBQ place to try and your in Shawnee I would definitely recommend Blind Box BBQ it may just become your new favorite spot.

I’ve been twice now, both times ordering the «Lightweight platter.» Which consists of two sliced meats, two sides, a few pickle chips & pickled onions.
My meat selections both times have been Ham and Pulled Pork. For my sides the first time, I got Onion Straws and Sweet Potato Fries, my second go round, I got Onion Straws and Hand-​Cut Fries.
First the meats: Yum! The pulled pork was great! Tender, juicy and very flavorful! To me though the winner was the ham! I don’t care for thin sliced ham at BBQ places, and theirs is not! It’s cut to just the right thickness and has a smoky flavor. Wonderful!
Now the sides: The onion straws were great! I can’t complain. They came out hot both times and tasted really good. The sweet potato fries on my first trip were slightly overcooked, and a little dry but a little BBQ sauce to dip them in took care of that. The hand-​cut fries were fine too.
Service has been great both times. Even the first time, when I happened to come in in the midst of the lunch rush and it was wall to wall people! I was treated as if I was the only one there.
On my second trip, I also asked for hot BBQ sauce. My server brought it out to me in a bowl. It almost tasted as if it had an Asian flair to it. I will definitely try that again!
My only suggestion would be to add some Onion Rings as a side option.
I haven’t tried any of the appetizers yet, but I plan to come back! It’s a tad expensive to make a regular lunch/​dinner option, but I do plan on coming in as often as I can!

Who says a good BBQ place needs to have sticky floors, cashiers yelling at you when you walk through the doors, or serve food on meat paper? The Blind Box BBQ is breaking all rules when it comes to the atmosphere, customer service, and how BBQ is served.
Let’s start with the atmosphere. Think of it as a legit whiskey bar, with mixologist grade cocktails and serves great BBQ. The rusty and modern environment is a nice touch, you wouldn’t think a place like this exist here when pulling into the parking lot. It’s conveniently next to Power Play, so parents can drop the kids off with their friends and have a drink while the kids burn off their sugar high.
The food is very good. It’s served gourmet style, so those die hard KC BBQ guys might be a bit upset. All meat I’ve had here is good, the chicken is slightly dry and I’m going to cut them some slacks as they’re still getting their process down. The sauce is proper KC style.
The service. Nice wait staff, delivering prompt and noninvasive service. We were greeted promptly, water came quick, and we didn’t feel rushed.
Overall, Blind Box BBQ is a nice gem to find in Shawnee, KS. They’re breaking many rules here. I love bourbon and I love BBQ, so keep breaking those rules.
