Trying for first time. Liked the appearance when passed by on a bike ride so I made the drive from Arroyo Grande to check it out. Food was average Mexican fare. Had shrimp enchilada plate. The shrimp were fresh but the red sauce did not do them justice. Service okay but not over the top. Dog friendly on the patio… which seems to be an attraction for the locals. But I’ll stick to my regular place, thank you.

After reading reviews we decided to eat at Zorro’s. I had a lovely serving of chilaquiles for breakfast. The flavors were beyond fabulous and we will definitely go back again.

I’ve always liked Zorro’s… The ambiance, the location, the food, the service has never disappointed me. This is a great little local place in the small town of Shell Beach. Dining indoors or out on the patio. They sometimes even have live music. It can get busy here at times, so around Sunday brunch, I would recommend making reservations. Today I tried something different than the usual bacon & eggs… I got the Maraca Machaca & Eggs with shredded chicken – and it was Goooood! Make sure to get extra salsa, pour it on top of eggs &BAM! It’s delicious! I’d have to say this is one of my fave breakfast places around here.

This is a great place to come to in Shell Beach. The food is always good but usually it’s crowded so plan ahead. Came here this morning for breakfast. I usually sit outside however there was no seating so we were seated inside. I do not recommend this if you want to talk to those you came with. It was ridiculous how loud it was inside. If the food wasn’t good I would rate it much lower. If you have to wait for out door seating do that or don’t eat there. Crazy loud. I had the huevos rancheros and it was delicious! I also had a side of bacon which was cooked to perfection and a very generous serving, it could feed several. This would have been a 5 star review but the noise took a star maybe two but I’ll leave it at four.

The owner of the restaurant was quick to respond to my review and rectify the situation. Will update again when we give this place a second chance!

Great food! They had an outdoor band and old Mexican blankets in case you got cold. Order the flautas!

Had a basic fish sandwich. It was good, nothing special. Good service and seated right away. Nice cheap spot to grab some quick food

Didn’t really enjoy the food here. I got the Spinach Enchiladas and the green sauce on top was just aweful. The rice seemed to have been cooked with too much chicken bouillon or some other salty seasoning. The black beans tasted like they have been sitting for awhile just waiting to be served to someone. Our waitress wasn’t to smiley. Not very professional to pull out a chair and sit next to me and take my order. Just saying. Overall, one of my least favorite Mexican food places. This is the first and last visit.

I found Zorro’s from a Unilocal recommendation while visiting the area. I walked up and there were already people waiting for tables. I put my name on the list. Since I am a party of 1, I wasn’t waiting long as I was willing to accept bar seating. I was seated prior to two other parties at the bar, however, they were served first… my only negative. They were busy though, I get it. The chips were fresh and salsa good, although they served the salsa in a tiny little dish to be certain there are to be none wasted I would imagine? I ordered a chicken taco salad, no sour cream. It was decent, nothing spectacular. I wouldn’t go back, I didn’t feel anything about it was exceptional enough to require a return visit.

We were lucky to read about Zorro’s somewhere. I think L.A. Times. It is a homey little beach place with outdoor seating as well as indoor accommodations. We like the kick back attitude of everyone; patrons and employees alike. Oh, and they are dog friendly! Enough about ambiance. How is the food and service? Over the top. About the best chile verde I have ever had. Clam chowder is seasoned perfectly and full of clams. 4 to 6 happy hour every day with tacos $ 2.50. Any kind you want! Fish, carnitas, chicken, ground beef etc. not your usual Tuesday tacos either. Big and full of meat. Excellent. Great breakfast also. Servers are always top notch. Today we had William, and he was efficient, helpful and personable. Made me decaf iced coffee special because I drank so much iced tea last time I could not sleep. Actually, all the servers have been wonderful. We really love this place.

Pretty damn good. We’ll be back. Clam chowder is excellent. Fish tacos, excellent. Tamales, chicken taco, rice, beans, salsa, so good. Service was very attentive and the vibe is cool. Liked it, a lot.

Worth the wait! Grabbed a cup of green chile Pozole as a side, so delicious! Try the sweet corn tamale w/mango salsa for breakfast. You won’t be disappointed.

We came twice for breakfast. place is not huge, but they make good use of outdoor space with decent temperature control to make it much larger. In short, we had very good breakfast food. The Mexican/American breakfast items are really, really good. When you get there, you sign in outside. There is usually a wait for breakfast. But the tables turned pretty quickly. A good mix of locals and tourists. Important that you like dogs, because it’s pretty much a guarantee there will be at least one sitting right by you from one of the neighboring tables.

I had No Idea, coming from LA, that Pismo Beach would have such delicious Mexican food. The carne asada nachos are to die for. The meat is chopped in large pieces and it is so tender and so well marinated. The carnitas burrito(my bf got) was also delicious. The carnitas was cooked to perfection, delicate, melt in your mouth good and the sangria, ohhh the sangria. Beautiful sangria. The service is great, everyone is very attentive and friendly. The cost is also great for the service and food. The wait was about ten fifteen minutes but so well worth it. Also, the ladies restroom is cute, clean and smells good. Coming back for sure.

Looked at my bill, blinked again. Very affordable pricing. Since their entire menu is a mish-mash of items, with combinations, I enjoyed the following: Chile Verde(green) — delicious all around game, definite re-order, Chile Colorado — red beef chunks — good, Comp’ed Chips — with the saucing, very good Did not like Al Pastor Taco and will never attempt to eat the Chili again. Saw a party celebrating a birthday, and the guy ended up wearing a tremendous sombrero while being sung to. That was ridiculously fun.

Stopped here during the week for lunch. We sat right down outside, no big wait. The service was quick menus were dropped off. Interesting collection of items, American(traditional) and Mexican… odd. Which one do they do better? No idea. We ordered a breakfast burrito, huevos rancheros, and the sweet corn tamale and eggs. Everything was a bit simple, and bland. The portions were way to small to really be a filling meal. We didn’t really like anything we ate. The clientele here is also a huge negative. This seems like a spot for the folks who live at or around Shell and think it’s Huntington or Hermosa…(hint: this is not that kind of town. drive your Range Rover somewhere else) Too many yipping dogs, complaining spoiled people. Not enough class, quantity or flavor in the food. No reason to go back here.

Zorro’s delivered a great Christmas Eve breakfast after a fun overnight stay nearby at The Cliffs Hotel. My bro and sis-in-law live in SLO and every time we visit, they take us to their local favs — Zorro’s is on their short-list of breakfast places. I dig the vibe of the place — beach casual, Central Coast cool. We sat outside in the tented area which was fine as the heat was turned up. Being a bit«slow» from the previous night’s festivities, I looked to Zorro’s to dial me in on some hearty grub. I ordered the Maraco Machaca & Eggs with spiced shredded chicken(scrambled with two eggs, fresh jalapeños, ripe tomatoes, onions and cheese and corn tortillas) — $ 11.29 Verdict: delicious! I had a Negra Modelo to wash it all down — however, I wished they served some of the Central Coast’s fine local brews on tap instead. In all, I enjoyed the meal and look forward to my next visit. 4.5 stars

Cute little restaurant in the Shell Beach area. We’d heard they make a great clam chowder from our bartender at a local brew pub and after checking the menu online stopped in for dinner. We sat on the patio and had outstanding service throughout our meal. I got a glass of champagne(love when this is offered!) and my husband ordered a margarita and obviously we both ordered the clam chowder. It was amazing! Loaded with tender clams and wonderful flavors. A serious Wow! They’ve won awards in the local competition for this and deservedly so. I ordered the tiger shrimp and crab enchiladas for my dinner and my husband got the el pastor tacos. His tacos were good but, I was the clear winner. All that fresh seafood was so delicious. I wish they had an option to order this without the full combo plate. Honestly I didn’t touch the rice, beans or any of the other items there. In fact I had to open up the 2nd enchilada and just ate the seafood because I was getting stuffed. Delightful little place and I highly recommend! Yum!!!

This is probably the only place in Shell Beach you’ll find a 25 minute wait at 10:30 in the morning on a Sunday. The people like the colorful vibrant setting, friendly staff, and nice quality food. Cons: –aforementioned wait time –some of the food is bland. I always have to add salt and pepper. It would be nice to see some spices and seasonings incorporated into the meal. –Inside seating is VERY noisy. The acoustics aren’t the greatest so you really hear everything. PROS: –healthy options available… eg: my omelette had crunchy pieces of broccoli and zucchini I will return to try the lunch-dinner options.
