Looks like they closed up shop! NOOOO! This was our spot we could walk to for coffee and a decent breakfast in a pinch. Very sorry to see it go. Hopefully another coffee shop will take its place.

Really good espresso! Best iced almond milk latte. Not too sweet and deliciously creamy. Tasty breakfast sandwiches and fast friendly service for take out or dine in. Casual atmosphere.

If you want to listen to terrible EDM for 20 minutes while your frowning barista makes your drinks, have dripping wet eggs on your breakfast sandwich, and be given your cost by said barista using just her index finger to point to the register rather than speak… then Espresso Time is the place to go. Also, if you’re a decrepit senior citizen who loves ogling female customers, you’ll find yourself right at home.

Not sure how this place is still in business considering I never see anyone here on the weekend mornings(which I’d assume is prime time). I stopped by on Christmas morning and paid $ 2.25 for black diner coffee — no bueno. I was also interested in purchasing a pastry but all I found were wrapped Costco muffins. The gal working the counter was nice but I ended up only drinking a few sips of coffee and throwing it away. The place itself seems very outdated and lacking personality and quality. It’s nooked in the Gelsons strip mall — perhaps the location isn’t the best? I won’t be back unfortunately.

It’s an okay coffee place. In contrast to the hours posted here, I found that they close at 4:00pm on Saturdays. That’s really lame. Are people in this area really that parochial that stores must close at sun down?

Espresso Time has maybe the best breakfast sandwich I’ve ever had. The mix of fluffed egg whites, avocado & lemon aioli kills me. The shop is darkly lit, quiet, and their great selection of food, smoothies, coffee & tea is a welcome part of my weekly habits. If they were a late-night café I’d be there even more, but in lieu of that, I’ll be happy waiting for the weekends for my visits. A hidden gem that can be found in the best buy/Gelsons/Solleys center. Parking in the lot.

This place serves the best coffees and i have tried many places and this is the best!!! I often come almost every week to do my schoolwork since it has free wifi and is a quit place to study and i have a veggie sandwich with a fresh squeezed juice. And the lady who owns it might not speak english very well but is a great and kind person.

Not open during their posted hours(on Sat 10⁄26 at 2:30 pm) Wasted my time. No sign either to explain why. Had to sit through traffic, very frustrating.

THEGOOD: Very unique dishes, handcrafted salads and wonderful customer service. Not only do they treat you as if you’ve walked into a five star restaurant, its clear that they take pride in the dishes they have created. The salads are very large and very good. There is a great selection of sandwiches, drinks, and chips which was surprising for such a small place. Free smoothie samples, YUM! PERFECT for a vegan or non vegan alike. Smiles, good food, good girls and great service!

I try to come here at least once a week. I love this place. I do love their organic coffee and caramel macchiato. The place is big and and has an out door patio which is perfecto:) for my morning coffee. If you are ever their try their Breakfast Special sandwich and home made spinach and cheese turnovers. The owner bakes them herself and its jst delish. You can always call them in advance and have your order ready when you come:) Jst love it!!! The owner is the sweetest person ever and all stuff are friendly and nice. But I personally love Toma and this new girl Zhenya. If you are in the area this place is worth to try.

Ordered the chai and morocco mint tea. I noticed that they use the standard chai mix that you cold get from any store, which I was fine with since I knew the taste(obviously be better if they didn’t use powder but whatever) and when I tasted it, it tasted off… come to realize that the milk was spoiled. The mint tea was whatever. Wouldn’t come back for either.

I love this place!!! It’s privately owned by this sweet woman who hand makes the whole menu from scratch! From delicious pastries to yummy salads and sandwiches; All organic ingredients. And the coffee… Triumphs Starbucks! Latte’s, cappuccino’s, fresh squeezed juices etc. I come here all time and they never let me down!

I actually LOVE this place — been going here since that location was in its original iteration as «Arrosto» Coffee, then«Ciao» and now it is «Espresso Time.» There are very many things to appreciate about this quaint shop, especially its owner who is a very sweet Russian Lady who always smiles and makes some of the BEST pastries and sandwiches!!! O.K. not everyone on the staff is stellar, but today when I went in for a Caramel Freeze, Katya was super-nice!!! The WiFi is very nice to have and there is always a seat to be found… the outdoor seating is also lovely when the weather is pleasant. There is a magazine stand right next door so I love to go in, purchase a newspaper or magazine and read while sipping coffee and/or a killer pastry! Parking is always easy. Thank you for being our neighborhood Gem! Treat them right, people…

I am SO happy I found this place! The selection is amazing. They have fresh pastries daily, a large selection of breakfast and lunch meals, delicious teas and coffee, and my favorite of all, FRESHORGANICSMOOTHIESANDJUICES. The staff is very nice and the atmosphere is great. There is also outside seating which is great. I highly recommend this place. It is definitely one of favorites! =) (Also, great options if you are a VEGAN like me)

OK, people, here is the definitive deal on Espresso Time from a patron who has been there from day one. This is a great place to come, hang out, have a bite, have a cup o’ joe, read a paper, read The Hollywood Reporter, or get work done on a laptop WITHOUT the obnoxious overrun experience of a Coffee Bean(go to the one on Ventura near Laurel and you’ll see what I mean) or a Starbucks where you have to pay for wifi(go to any Starbucks), and without the intrusion of a million people. You wanna break down every single food item and coffee drink, be my guest. I stick to a few items like the smoked salmon bagel which is amazing and affordable(go to Jerry’s Deli or neighboring Solley’s and see what I mean) or one of the wraps. The coffee is perfectly fine and the prices don’t bother me a smidge for the space that I get there. If you’re like me and SUPPORTLOCALBUSINESSES then you’ll be happy to know the owner is a lovely Eastern European lady — Russian, I believe — who is there at her shop every day trying to make a living and make it work. She remembers me, treats me very well, and is a kind soul. I have absolutely no idea where Erika R. is getting off writing such a slanderous and childish review. First of all, Erika R., spell-check. Second of all, grammar. Third of all, grow up. I am not in any shape or form affiliated with the ownership group. I am a local resident who ardently supports local business and who believes that environment and effort are quintessential to business ventures like this. If you’re looking for an expensive opulent coffee and pastry, maybe check out Aroma on Tujunga. That said, Espresso Time, is very, very good. More importantly, the value you get being able to read a paper or do work is unbeatable. The parking situation is an embarrassment of riches. And the mental comfort one gets by being able to work without bother is second to none. Thumbs up. Big supporter. Keep on keepin’ on, Local Biz, Espresso Time. I got your back.

I used to love this place. Now. Watery coffee horrible pastries. And attitude behind the counter. Go next door to gelsons. They make the food fresh every day and the coffee is dark and Tasty. Best doughnuts ever!

I was heading next door to Greco’s for a slice of pizza when I saw the sign here for homemade borscht. Decided to get a soup/sandwich instead to be healthier. It took them 25 minutes to bring me a soup /sandwich combo and I was the only one ordering food! The owner herself was preparing it so who can I even complain to? Not acceptable speed at a coffee house where service should be speedy. Stick to drinks or desserts here. Iced green tea had excellent flavor and I would buy that again. The interior looks chill and they have free wifi so If you want to sip a tea or juice or coffee or smoothie and surf the Internet that’s great. If you’re expecting to grab cooked food and be out the door then this is not the place. If you have time to linger than sure.

Went into this quaint strip-mall indie café on a weekday morning for a quiet alternative to Starbucks, hoping to enjoy a little breakfast while knocking out some work. I was left with mixed feelings. Ordered a double cappuccino and croissant. The croissant was possibly the worst I have ever had. Dry, heavy, and stale… possibly baked days earlier? I tool it back and asked if I could order something else. The sweet girl working the bar was very apologetic and offered me any other pastry at no charge. I opted for a blueberry scone, which was much much better. The cappuccino was not was I was hoping for. The roast had an acidic flavor, not like the smokey sweet espresso roasts I’m familiar with at Starbucks. A disappointing cup for sure. Based on my samplings I would rate this place lower but it is saved by their kind service and quaint vibe. They have an extensive menu of sandwiches and smoothies which I have yet to sample, so perhaps those are their saving grace. I really hope they live up to their name and improve the quality of their espresso, however, or they will stand little chance in a town that knows and loves quality coffee so well.

I have been to this place three times now, since the change in name and ownership. The first time, the girls were wonderfully helpful and super friendly. The drink they recommended was spot on and I was quite pleased with the service. The second time I went, the two ladies there said that the morning girl had not shown up, so they were unable to make me a blended drink, so I left., disappointed. The third time, all was well again and I got my drink and it was great. what I love about this place is that they have the option of Almond milk for coffee drinks, and not just Soy, like Starbucks. I don’t drink regular milk and to be honest, I am not that big of a fan of soy milk, so having the option of Almond milk is a big plus in my book. I have no idea how the food is. I only go there for coffee. And the coffee was good.
