Very nice and thoughtful staff, I do Postmates and while I was waiting for the order the lady was kind enough to bring me out water and chips/​sweet & sour sauce. Very kind. Haven’t had the food but that alone will def bring me back

Everything we’ve ever ordered here has been tasty (seafood and vegetarian only), but I’m giving five stars because of the service! They go above and beyond to make sure that my husband and I, and our 3 year old daughter, are well taken care of. My water glass is never empty, the dishes never pile up, and their food is always fresh and made to order with incredible speed. My daughter actually asks for Kung Pao Bistro specifically most weekends! When we walk in, she goes running towards the lovely waitresses there and hugs them! And then she asks them for crunchies :’) We feel a sense of calm and coziness that most other places on Ventura lack. The waitstaff are always so friendly and remember that we predictably order orange tofu every time!
Although we usually dine in, I’ve also ordered takeout — and they are super fast and accurate every time. Every vegetarian meat dish I’ve ordered is yummy, but my favorite is probably the Kung Pao «Beef». As far as seafood goes, their calamari appetizer is awesome! And I pretty much love all of their shrimp dishes. I often order the sweet and sour shrimp with the sauce on the side. The thin, non-​greasy, crispy batter never disappoints! Oh, and to make me feel a little better about eating fried foods, they do offer perfectly cooked brown rice, which is always a huge plus in my book!
As long as we live in Los Angeles, we’ll be coming here for our Chinese food fix!
Also, it is important to note that this place is SPOTLESS. From the table and chairs to the bathroom, this place is so well maintained. It’s rare that Asian eateries are kept this clean!

Our answer to Mandarin Tiger! One MT closed our family needed a new Chinese restaurant for xmas dinner! Enter Kung Pao China Bistro. Family run and GREAT vegetarian chinese menu with a bunch of meat substitute plates .
The delivery we get from them is always on time and food is always more than need. Portions are not small at all.
Try the veggie orange chicken… it’s better than the real orange chicken. But shhhhhh you didn’t hear that from me.
People complain about service… it’s family owned and ran. it’s a Chinese restaurant. You do not come here for service but for good, no GREAT, food in the area!

The fastest Chinese delivery in Sherman Oaks! They average about 15 minutes from hanging up the phone to being at my doorstep. I love this place.

I was somewhat disappointed after my dining experience at Kung Bao Bistro. We ordered orange chicken and cashew chicken during their lunch special. The food arrived freakishly fast. This always raises eyebrows as you get the idea that their food was re-​heated after the leftovers from the day before. Well, to no surprise, the orange chicken had that leftover chicken taste. It didn’t feel fresh, and the texture felt somewhat soggy.
Customer service was okay — nothing special. While we were dining, the server approached us with an awkward platter of pastries that did not seem to fit in with the «Chinese» food theme.
For the price you pay here, one would definitely expect a higher quality of meat. I’m sticking to Bamboo Forest in Sherman Oaks — tastier, cleaner and more bang for your buck!

This Place is HORROBLE. They are so rude the lady on the phone literately was begging for a tip ! I couldnt tip this time and i just had enough to pay for the food. At first she was NOT going to deliver because i couldnt tip then she said it was okay. So when they got her the delivery man told me «next time pick up» because i didnt tip him!!! WHAT THE HELL ?! Plus the food was NASTY, im sick after eating it and it was cold !!! I am NEVER going here again, i reccomend that you save your little bit or money and spend it else where. This place has horrible customer service and the food sucks !!!

this is my favorite chinese restaurant in los angeles and i am flabbergasted that it does not have more stars! excellent food, ambiance and service. I cannot speak to their delivery service but know that we have never left kung pao unhappy or hungry!

They have the best lunch special in the valley. For roughly $ 7 you get soup, salad, choice of rice, and entrée. I come here every week and it is consistent. Good quality, good price.

My friend and I were walking down Ventura and wanted a place to eat. We stopped by and gave this place a shot. I live close by and I’ve gotten their advertisements in the mail but never tried it. The food was delicious. I ordered the mangolian beef and rice, we ordered the chicken dumplings, miso soup. I usually don’t care for dumplings but these were really delicious. I recommend this place did you want good decent Chinese food at a great affordable price. The inside of the restaurant is big and spacious and extremely clean. The staff are also very nice and provided great service. I’ll be coming back and ordering take ours from this place.

Mediocre Chinese food. Nothing to really recommend. Orange chicken tasted like orange candies were the base. Other dishes were kind of flavorless. Only gave it two stars out of compassion.

I went to this place for the first time this weekend. I went with my family during lunch time and we were seated immediately. Our server seemed genuinely nice and provided us great service! The food is also very good for the price. They have delivery and to-​go as well.

The 2 stars are food based only. If you want small servings, rude delivery service and incomplete orders this place is for you! Ordered online, in the special instructions section I asked for 6 sets of chop stix, extra soy sauce and extra chili paste. When the order arrived it was small. I asked if everything was there. The delivery guy rudely counted containers and considered that enough. I asked about the chop stix which he didn’t have, I asked about my extra sauces which the driver replied, I’m only the driver. He then had the balls to point out that I had checked the box pay a cash tip. I told him he was just a driver and my order wasn’t as requested. Don’t know about anyone else but I would carry a bag of those kinds of things in my vehicle if I were a delivery man for a restaurant but that’s just me. When I open the containers I felt like is been given half orders. I checked the website and realized it had advertised no delivery fee but then when you select delivery it added 3.00 and another .27 tax
The food was good but not as ordered. The delivery which was advertised to be free cost me 327 the delivery service was rude and didn’t deliver my order complete, the portions were small and I had to pay for white rice after spending 57.00 on 3 dishes and a noodle order.

I will NEVER EAT HERE AGAIN!!! The delivery man. DEVIN or whatever is so unbelievably rude!!! First off my mom called and ordered me and my daughters food, I normally get take out from them every couple of weeks. My mom lives in Arizona. Because her card wasn’t present he TOOK THE FOOD OUT OF MY HANDS!!! Said there was I charge but they definitely charged my moms card!!! Just flat out rude.

I order take out from here a lot. Tonight it was crazy salty. No idea what happened. Are cooks and chefs losing their minds? Really too bad. I love salt, but even I couldn’t eat it. Is it me, or is this happening a lot?
Update. Whatever else they did, has me in the bathroom for the last two hours. Multiple trips. I guess it couldd happen anywhere, but just adds insult to injury.

Their signature «Chef» dishes are a must try. Another must try are mostly their beef & seafood stir fry dishes. Their chow mein are ok.
For delivery service, the food they delivered are in good condition, freshly hot, & not soggy & worn out.

Stopped by Friday night and had Szechwan chicken salad with their legendary peanut sauce. Ethan gave us awesome service not to busy. I highly recommend coming in right away!

Made a delivery order.
It was the only thing I ate the all day.
I got food poisoning and was sick for more than 24 hours.
I contacted them and they wanted to see a Doctor’s note.
Be carful!

I’ve ordered from here before and I would have given then at least 3 stars at that time but not after last night.
It was Christmas so I was looking to continue my tradition of Christmas movies abdominal Chinese food. I places an order through Eat24 and I got a confirmation email. It was a large order so I expected a longer wait. My boyfriend went to pick up the food but told him that they knew nothing about my order. EAT24 tried twice to call but they never answered. My boyfriend gave them my order number but still nothing. I had to go down to the restaurant myself to sort it out. They had the nerve to tell me that I had to cancel my Eat24 order and place a new order with them to get any food (I had already been charged through eat24).
I contacted Eat24, they notified me that they had confirmed with the restaurant that they did in fact get my order but it never got made. I was given a refund and Eat24 posted that the placed closed so they wouldn’t send more orders to them.
I will not be returning to this place. If they had honored my order or treated me nicer while I was there, I might feel differently.
