The Flame Broiler

I wish they would have had a sign stating their sauces contain wheat or gluten (but I also didn’t ask cause I forgot to) but the food here is very good.

I have to say this bowl tastes great!!! I like the location and so far I’m really enjoying my bowl. I got the half and half and I paid 7 and change! If you near by I recommend you check it out

I was really excited that flame broiler finally has tofu. So I went to this location the other day and I had a horrible experience and definitely won’t be coming back to this location! I wasn’t looking at the time before I walked in the place and they yelled at me all rude we are not open! If your not open then keep the door locked! And it was 7 minutes before them opening. Then another lady walked in after us and they took her order. I didn’t want to eat here after that but my mother in law was already set to eating flame broiler. So then we went in and the chick who took our Order was very rude. She needs some training in customer service! She was very serious and it felt like she could give a crap about the customers. If you hate your job then don’t work there! The least you can do is smile!

Really bad employees. Horrible freakin manager who could not careless about his customers. Had a terrible experience there. Honestly drive to the one in Northridge way better customer service. FYI if you ever get a refund you will have to wait for about 3 business days to get your money back and meanwhile will have to pay again if you want to order all over. Lousy manager!

Worst flame broiler I’ve EVER been to! I’m guessing the beef bowl they gave me was someone’s who ordered over the phone and failed to pick it up or left over scraps! I ordered and it was finished in less than 30 seconds and it was cold, burned and hard. Worst experience ever. Completely inedible for $ 8+

Ordered takeout here so many times I couldn’t count it!!, Ive tried their beef bowl, chicken bow and half & half (combination of beef and chicken). I could honestly say they are all the bomb!
For a fast food, its absolutely delicious, The price so cheap but the quality is just WOW. The sauce included in the bowl adds more flavor to it, although the taste is good enough even without it!
All in all, I would definitely keep continually ordering from here either for lunch/​dinner. It has not disappointed me yet and I don’t think it will!
I would definitely recommended this place to anyone looking to try healthy delicious food in the valley!

The hell is wrong with flame broiler employees??? I traveled to this flame broiler that’s 20 minutes further then my house to avoid bad customer service I receive from the one that’s literally around the corner from where I live. I stepped inside 20minutes before closing, and the employee working there Joanne was really upset that I had dined in! She bagged my food to go pretty much telling me to get out of there because she had to clean. Very very rude answering my questions like I’m retarded. I asked her for some ice because the machine was out. She says oh there’s no ice? Like no that’s why I’m asking you??? She turns around and doesn’t say anything leaves me waiting 10minutes she comes out and starts ringing up some one else that had been waiting there about 5minutes to order. She finally puts the ice. Simply to break it down bad bad customer service. I don’t know who the hell hires these people. At least smile! I just spent $ 30 to swallow my food because she was mopping around me with chemicals that smelled nasty. The only good thing about this place that it’s next to a yogurt land, so you can sweeten your day after having such a bad sour experience at flame broiler.

Loved this place, had great food and a really awesome concept. I’d definitely go back for a lunch time meal– quick, tasty, and healthy and didn’t break the bank.

This place was amazing when it first opened and I was constantly here. Based on that great experience, we returned after a few years and were disappointed. The chicken was dry and rice was decent. The service was great. The girl that took our order was phenomenal!

Food is dry tastes like carboard. Manager didn’t care. Tasted like grill cleaner. No salad dressing. Salad was all cabbage.

They completely recently changed their menu to make it a more chipotle style experience when you order. Far fewer options than before, pick a rice, pick a meat etc. I will not be returning.

It was my fault for the awful experience I had here. I was on my lunch break and headed to Subway. I parked on front of this flame broiler and as I was walking by for some reason decided to walk in. First thing I noticed was there was not a single soul in there besides the 2 ladies that work there. Should have left then, obviously no one likes this place! But No I ordered some chicken rice bowl. Then went to the restroom to wash my hands… Had I went to the restroom before ordering and paying I would’ve Walked out of that place real quick! OMG it stunk! How could your restroom smell so bad if there’s no customers???
I look at the air freshener thing looks like something you get at a cheap grocery store and hasn’t been replaced in months. WOW owner must be STINGY!
now my food comes, under cooked Chicken with no flavor. Poor tasting rice. Its seems like everything in this establishment is just geared towards Cutting costs. I can’t believe I wasted $ 10 on this. Unbelievable.

Don’t eat here you’ll get sick! Rice undercooked, meat doesn’t look nor taste impressive either.

This particular location of the Flame Broiler lost us as customers when they switched ownership and things changed.
We used to love this place and always ordered all white chicken. A few months ago, when I was pregnant my husband went to order and pickup. He came back with what looked like the regular dark chicken. I tried eating it but didn’t like the flavor at all and couldn’t finish it. I assumed he had forgotten to specify it was all white meat. A few weeks later he went back. Came home with the same dark meat. I looked at the receipt, and he had paid extra for all white so I called the restaurant. They said bring it back we’ll check. He took the food and was told that IS their all white chicken.
Prior to the ownership change, the all white chicken were squarely cut, perfectly white pieces of delicious chicken breast. Now their all white chicken looks, smells and tastes just like the regular chicken pieces (which you don’t have to pay extra for). I called the restaurant to tell them about the disappointing change, and what annoyed me was that instead of hearing me out and acknowledging the change they made in their choice of white chicken, the girl on the phone kept insisting nothing had changed and their white chicken was always this crap they sell now, which is not true!

Ordered the angus beef plate, which comes with brown rice, half an orange, and cabbage salad. The beef is supposedly Korean-​style, but way sweeter. I liked the hot sauce. It’s not the best meal, but it definitely serves its purpose when you don’t want to cook and don’t care for anything fancy.

I’m lowering my stars to three. This is the second time in a row that my chicken bowl has been just DRENCHED in sauce. It’s disgusting. Isn’t the reason you offer extra sauce so that you can add it if there’s not enough? I haven’t been back in a couple of months because I was so grossed out by the Sauce Bowl last time. It may be quite some time before I go back.
Also, once again I asked for my chicken to be «well done» and it came out regular. I sent it back and the girl cooked it more so it was better. Hard to overcome the drenched in sauce problem though.

This restaurant was empty when my friend and I walked in. The service was excellent. I will give them credit for that. I wish the food was as good as good as the service. When the food came out within two minutes of me ordering, I knew I was in for something. It was only OK for the $ 7 I paid. I wouldn’t recommend it. But then again, it was only $ 7 for a bowl

Based on my service last night, Tuesday ¹⁰⁄₆ @ 8pm. I like flame broiler a lot but this location sucks and made me sick. The lady taking my order was rude. Coleslaw had no dressing, I mean is it required for me to remind the person to give me it or take it before I go? The orange was mushy, old and tasted like vomit. I think the chicken was slightly undercooked. I won’t be going to this location again.

As the owner suggested, I visited again. It has been four month since the ownership changed, and I had very unpleasant experience there last time.
Anyway, I went to this place today.
What do I find? Same dirty floors! Same unfriendly service!
Even worse: food is now just horrible, unpleasant smell everywhere!
My friends and I had to just trash that food. I simply don’t understand how a place like this still in business in the middle of Sherman Oaks!
One can expect to see a place like this in the middle of Pakistan, maybe in Northern China, or perhaps in very poor Nicaragua, not in SHERMAN OAKS!
Owners should be ashamed of themselves!

This place is great if you are on the go but don’t want to eat crap fast food. They have a bunch of healthy options including brown rice. I love a place that offers brown rice. The chicken and vegetables taste fresh and really good. The service is good and the food doesn’t take forever to come out. There saying is healthy fast food but it really is!
When I’m on the go I stop here and eat lunch a lot. I love the chicken, veggies (cabbage is especially good) and brown rice bowl or plate.
The only reason I gave this place 4 stars is that there aren’t a lot of options. That’s ok for me though because I’m happy with what they offer but some people might like a better variety.
Also the parking lot is not my favorite. It’s always filled, even the street parking is filled. There is more parking in the back but it’s just busy. There are a lot of food places in that little lot so that’s why it’s so busy.
