Wait what? Why all the bad reviews? I had the BEST omelet there along with home fries and rye nicely toasted. Coffee was good. BF’s kids both ordered the pancakes with peanut butter and chocolate. They swear these are better than their father’s. I thought this place was great. Also the service was EXCELLENT

There’s a reason why there was only a 15 min wait on LDW. I would rather go to IHOP. They have nice sized portions but the pancakes were rather doughy. It’s also cash only which I found irritating.

Good service. The pancakes were more«cake like» than what I prefer but not bad. Prices are high, but not terrible for LBI. Would not go out of my way to eat here, but satisfied my fix for pancakes.

If your a pancake fan and you really do not know what good pancakes should taste like, then this place is for you. This place is a rip off and charges you for every little item with an added cost. Forget about sharing a dish here. They charge you if you share with your kids. If pancakes still are not your thing and your forced to eat here because you do not want to make the hike to chicken or the egg for a real breakfast, then do not even try to order anything with eggs. Omlets are a foreign concept here, especially if you want one with egg whites. The kitchen staff is thrown off their game and make the servers ask questions how to make your egg. Also not to mention the music on while you eat is hilarious. Here at Jayson’s they are the last to actually use an antenna for music. So in conclusion, if you want an analog type restaurant and a shitty overpriced breakfast where the food is bland this place is for you.

Had a delicious breakfast here the other morning. Everyone’s meal came out perfect nothing over cooked or under cooked. The service was excellent. It’s a cash business only but they have a MAC machine on location. I’ll definitely be back.

I love quaint, family-style, cozy diners and Jayson’s Pancake House completely fits the bill. We visited for breakfast while we were visiting LBI for the weekend. I absolutely loved it! The food was tasty! My 3 blueberry pancakes were perfectly fluffy and delicious. Excellent portion sizes! And their crispy bacon on the side was fantastic. Perfectly crispy and a very generous portion as well. I was very impressed. Service was very friendly and the wait wasn’t too bad — about 10 minutes on a busy morning during Memorial Day weekend. Not bad at all! Our food came quickly and the ambiance was very family-oriented and welcoming. I loved Jayson’s and would certainly visit again! It’s a great breakfast option on LBI.

Pass on this restaurant. My step-dad and I went there for breakfast this morning. We were Lourdes there by the smell of onions and potatoes, but what he got was mediocre at best. I ordered a western omelet sans toast. The omelet was rubbery and didn’t have any cheese. The potatoes were simply thinly sliced fried potatoes… no flavor and no onions! Hash towns should be fried up on a flat top or in a big skillet!!! The omelet was $ 10. My step-dad ordered a simple and plain waffle. He said it was«fine». $ 7. Coffee was $ 2.25/cup and was the highlight of the meal.

I gave this establishment 5 stars for the obvious reason. Their food is excellent! Not only is the food delicious, but the restaurant is adorable inside and out with a friendly and attentive staff! Looking forward to returning there on our next trip!

The food is fine. Nothing wrong with it, but nothing exciting. They have the basics. And on an island where everything is expensive, this place is more expensive than it should be. The service is nice, plenty of room and doesn’t seem to have the wait that some others do. Scojo’s is better, but if I ever had to wait at Scojo’s(it’s not worth the wait that everyone seems to think it is) I would walk down the street and go here instead.

All around good experience. Had some hash, scrapple, eggs, pancakes. Nothing is gonna take home the culinary award, but I’d say everything is a notch above your average diner. Jayson’s does solid pancakes, a nice hash, and serviceable scrapple and eggs. Might just go with the jumbo next time — the potatoes looked very good and I missed out. Service was attentive and helpful.

Was dragged here against my will last year(when Scojo’s was crowded and we were too hungry to wait) and it went about as well as I expected. The texture of the pancakes was off, the potatoes were lacking in any kind of flavor, and even the ‘cranberry’(I’m still not sure that’s what it was) juice was disgusting. Décor/ambiance is lacking — this doesn’t feel like the fun family place it should. (Note that the address listed is incorrect — this place is in Ship Bottom, across the street from Woodie’s.)

Got the Jayson Jumbo — 3 eggs, 2 strips of bacon, fried potatoes, toast, pancakes, sausage. Split with my boyfriend and we enjoyed everything without feeling ill and stuffed after. It was just enough — pancakes were fluffy, potatoes were the best I’ve had in awhile — fries really, baked beautifully and crisp and warm — and just enough grease and grit in the sausages. Who doesn’t love bacon? Eggwhites to round it out for a dose of healthy. Cheap and solid home cooking at Jayson’s can’t go wrong.

They have the best food and the service is great! My daughter got 2 pancakes with bacon on the side without the whip cream. It was fantastic! They even had coconut pancakes! We loved it so much we went back the next day for breakfast. I will definitely go back there next time I go to LBI!

When staying on LBI last week, my family and I really enjoyed breakfast here. I ordered pancakes with fresh strawberries and bananas, which were delicious! My husband had an enormous omelette made with eggwhites with spinach and tomatoes, and came with a mound of crispy homefries. both my kids enjoyed their chocolate chip pancakes, and when we came back the second day, they had chocolate chip peanut butter pancakes. I had to taste them. Amazing! Definitely recommended by us. Great service, Cash only.

Went a few days ago with my wife. I ordered scrambled eggs which were terrible. They were extremely over cooked and tasted horrible. Pancakes were alright but didn’t really impress me or my wife. Place wasn’t busy and we were seated right away but with food like that I figiured out why.

Came here on Monday my sister found a hair in her pancakes. Decided to give it another chance on Tues only for my fiancé to find a hair in his eggs. Extremely grossed out. Will not recommend to anyone I understand stuff happens but two days in a row? C’mon! Hairnets needed at jaysons pancake house!

The beauty of breakfast food, like waffles and pancakes, should not be hidden by whipped cream. But at Jayson’s in Ship Bottom, I think they believe the phrase, «comes with whipped cream» equals«smothered in whipped cream». Had I known my strawberry waffle included 3 dollops of the sugary mass, I would have requested it ‘on the side’. Instead, I opted for a side of bacon, which by the way, was a meager 3 thin slices. Even though I wasn’t paying for this meal, I don’t think the prices reflected the portion sizes. The service was above average, thankfully, and our coffee mugs were never left empty. But, I could see how someone might feel more like a number than a customer. Perhaps there’s an inevitable weekend morning wait across breakfast houses around the island, Jayson’s began about 9am(we’d arrived @ 8:30am). With Mustache Bill’s open an hour & a half earlier and a few more miles away, this place really isn’t worth a long wait. But get there before 9ish, and you’ll beat the rush.
