Came here to celebrate my and a friend’s birthday. I’m not entirely sure what I expected but I had a lot more fun than I expected. And best of all, my kids(7 and 5) had a blast. My kids hate eating out so honestly, this was amazing. This place is amazing for young kids because the antics of the hibachi chef keep them entertained. I think they’d start rolling their eyes around 11 – 12 and you definitely can’t go all the time or the novelty wears off. The food? I mean, it’s Benihana. It’s pretty expensive but you don’t come here for just the food. It’s really about being entertained. With that said, everything tastes just fine but if you’re about food, go elsewhere. The service? The hibachi chef was great and definitely knew who he needed to impress(the kids), but our waitress was a bit hard to flag down. The adults wanted alcoholic refills. Usually when you want to drink more, the wait staff can’t serve you fast enough, so I’m not sure what that’s all about. I’ll be back with the kids when we need to do something different.

So I’ve been to this Benihana a few times over the years, as well as a few other Hibachi spots, and I used to think they were consistently one of the best. Well things have changed… When we went we noticed the menu looked limited/bare, and a few people at our table made comments. The waitress casually mentioned it was their new menu, although I’m unclear on whether or not this was just a special Fathers Day Menu or their new main menu. Their were a limited amount of «specialty cocktails»(only 3 when I know they used to have at least a dozen) and the only hibachi options were either the combos/specials or the seafood. So if you wanted just chicken or just shrimp, it wasn’t on the menu, essentially forcing you to purchase one of the higher price options. Lastly, the rice was stale and old. I know they use pre-cooked white rice for the fried rice, but when exactly was it pre-cooked? White rice is one of the cheapest grains, so their is no reason not to dump old rice and consistently have fresh rice ready. We will be trying some other Hibachi restaurants going forward.

The food wasnt really great and the price was extremly high for only 2 people! I didnt know that a small soda is worth 4 dollars. Like i said before the food was like not bad, but not«ok». Not even close to being amazing. I would go again because of the price. I dont care bout the food, like you want good food but there charging me alot for like a regular fried rice you can get more 2 dollars at chinese fusion take out.

Ahhhh benihana’s. What can i say about this place that no one knows. It was the middle of the day when i went so it wasnt packed. And this location is the most spacious i have ever been too. someone comes and takes your order and drinks and any little appetizers that you may be interested in. The cooking is the best part. The cook always tells jokes during the process which is always a plus. They start you with the soup which is always good. I wish i could take some home. Then comes your choice of rice and then the food. Most times by the time the food reaches my plate i am already full. But i still enjoy it anyways.

I have gone to this Benihana location quite a few times. Today the server was slow I had all types of empty glasses & bowls in front me… Why?! The chef was very dry no personality while cooking. Food was good just could of had better service on this visit.

Been to many Benihana and it is what it is chain of hibachi restaurants so the over all quality of the food will not be the best but it will taste solid and that’s pretty much same here. Great experience for my mother and cousin who never experienced it and was worth it for them to see the Flaming Volcano and Egg Trick. I will say the staff at this location was the best of all locations I have been too and also one of the cleanest.

I’ve been to this location several times, no complaints. Staff is friendly, restaurant is clean. Would love for them not to lose their enthusiasm while cooking. It’s one of the many reasons people visit!

This benihana location is my favorite hibachi restaurant. This is definitely the cleanest hibachi restaurant ive ever been to. Some places have the greasey and grimey feeling and i dont get that vibe at all here. The drinks are really yummy and fun. Wait staff has always been kind even when theres a problem(my sushi appetizer came out during the dinner once). Hibachi food is great of course. What i love most about this location is how much personal space each table has and how clean it is! Otherwise hibachi is hibachi.

We had a great dinner here tonight! The service was excellent and very attentive and it was quite kid friendly at 5PM on a Sunday, although it was surprisingly busy! I had the steak and shrimp and a Sapporo draft which was quite good. My wife had basically the same thing but with a different treatment on the steak and the Benihana punch and my two year old daughter had noodles and ate them all! We’ll definitely be back, the location was nice up on a hill and the restaurant was a bit dated but still very nice. Definitely an excellent hibachi experience!

I love this location! The sushi and hibachi are yummy! I look forward to the $ 30 birthday certificate they send every year via email. it’s so worth it. The punch bowl drink is just ok. It should definitely be stronger for $ 23. The food is so good. The prices are fine. My preferred location.

Went last night for dinner; didn’t do chef experience. From the menu they gave me, there were only 2 entrée selections, steak and chicken, quite pricey as well(5 course meal apparently, I’ll explain in a bit.) I went during happy hour so there were a few rolls for $ 6 so I got the Crunchy Shrimp Roll, this was good. The 5 course meal included, onion soup, house salad, shrimp appetizer, chicken, and green tea(upon request). Onion soup and house salad came out first with my sushi roll. Chicken and shrimp came out same time. Chicken was dry, there were 4 pieces of broken shrimp to make it seem like more, the dipping sauces weren’t good. My cup of water was never refilled, the restaurant only had about 4 other tables of people, it wasn’t a packed house. I checked on their website what their menu was for this location and it’s completely different online than it is in store. Again, I didn’t do the chef experience however I don’t believe there will be different menus. Overall it wasn’t that great, the sushi is the only reason I gave an additional star. I wouldn’t go back.

Dirty, worn and smelled disgusting. Horrible service and repulsive food. They tried to put us at a table with 2 very young children. We refused so we sat it the skank bar area. Food just not fresh, came out fast. Strange cleaner smell in the air. Dirty bathrooms.

Nice new and clean Benihana. The staff was professional and attentive. Only one japanese chef in the whole place… this seems to be a disappointing but consistent trend. Good fod as always but our impression was that some of the sushi elements had been frozen.

It’s Benihana, what’s there to really say. Good, consistent restaurant chain serving up simple but pretty yummy American-Japanese food. The entertainment value is not there at this location. The Benihana chefs in CA seem to show off more creative knife handling skills, food handling and have brighter personalities. Here, they seem like they are following a script and doing it somewhat reluctantly. After all, we go to Benihana for that communal table buzz and when there is no buzz, the food had better be that much better. But Benihana is Benihana, the food doesn’t necessarily get better or worse because of that type of menu. The allure of the place is the chef and his ability to dazzle us on the teppan grill. The sour apple sake is damn tasty. Tony Robbins should come in for an hour, give the rah-rah motivation speech to the chefs, then perhaps they’ll give us a better show. Or a Harold Prince type producer to manage the entertainment. Oh, the real value here is lunch. For about 12 bucks, you can get a hearty meal and it’s quieter. No kids screaming when they flame up the grill. It’s a nice midweek, one hour break from the office.

Came in today for lunch. I chose the Hibachi scallops. They come with hibachi vegetables which include zucchini and carrots. Entire dish was very satisfying. The scallops were very nicely cooked. Dessert consisted of a refreshing pineapple boat. Customer Service was excellent all-around !!!

I came here for hibachi with several of my co workers. It was very good. I had the Beniyhana special which was steak and a lobster tail with a grilled shrimp appetizer. First I was brought out a mushroom broth, then a salad with ginger dressing. The finer dressing has a little kick to it. I think they add horse radish to it. Then it wand the hot shrimp appetizer, followed by grilled vegetables cut julienne style and fried rice. Along with the main course of the lobster and steak. It was all very good. I also shared a Beniyhana roll with someone else at my table that was excellent as well. The dessert was amazing and worth trying. It was a deep fried banana sundae. The banana came out piping hot mixed with my cold ice cream was amazing. One bad thing– they didn’t have coffee which would of been perfect with my sundae. The serving size was large enough that I took some of my food home. Pricing is a little on the higher side, mostly because of the location being short hills. But if you have the money to spend this place is definitely worth it.

Think of the worst qualities of all the chain restaurants you’ve been to, combine those into one, and the resulting product is Benihana. Generic, uninspired sauces? Check. The«spicy sauce» for our chicken was basically a more artificial version of sweet and sour, with chili oil thrown in. Formulaic, tasteless food? Check. When you have to douse your food in sauces, you know the quality is bad. When you douse ALL of your food(from the noodles, to the veggies, to the rice, to the protein) in black pepper, salt and unknown white sauce(perhaps tartar), you know the quality is terrible. It definitely isn’t very appetizing when my chicken tasted like my veggies which tasted like the shrimp. Vague menu that tries to up-sell customers? Check. Their entrees come with a soup, salad and rice, but they don’t specify that it’s white rice only. So when my friends asked what other options for rice they had, and our waitress rattled off fried rice or noodles(without mentioning that it would cost additional, mind you), they would obviously go with something different. Obviously, this led to an unhappy situation when we got the check, as we were charged extra($ 4.95) for EACH order of fried rice/noodles. And don’t even get me started on their terrible«entertainment». Terrible. Just terrible. TL;DR? Benihana, you don’t even wanna

My date started out fine. I picked her up and we headed to Benihana. She ordered the sushi and I the chicken stir fry. The soup and salad were great, as was the rice. Typical fun grill master, flipping shrimp in to his chef’s hat, etc. Chicken was tasty, but my intuition told me that it just… wasn’t…cooked…quite…enough. Soon after, my instinct was confirmed, as my stomach(and intestines) started growling violently; embarrassingly loud. Long story short, that’s when the date ended. Moral of this story: if you want to risk taking a date to this type of restaurant, make sure they cook your food well enough to lessen the chances of it being spoiled by an upset stomach.
