The view is beautiful as it was when the place was Cross Lake Inn. The drive is way out of the way for every area other than people who live on the lake They do not have Senior plates of catfish or 2 or 3 pc. meals. Very expensive for catfish. It is all you can eat for about $ 17 or $ 18 and they give you 3 pcs of fish. Too me that is just too high because 2 or 3 is all I can eat at best. We love going out to eat and eat out several times a week, but that place is too high for what we get. They need to reconsider their menu for older people that love to go out but can eat catfish at many other places for a whole lot less. We also ordered drinks and I told the girl please hold off on the food so we can enjoy the drinks(expensive) and the view and I had 2 sips and here came the food. Made the drinks not worth the extra with the extra tax and tip. However, the drinks were all watered down for whatever reason so what the heck. We would not have ever ordered drinks again if we went back which we won’t unless they make the place more affordable. I did call and talked to the male owner and explained how I felt and he said it was a family tradition how they priced and served. Well maybe out in the country somewhere it works but I will be surprized if they last here. He needs to reconsider. And retrain or train the bartender and the servers. Again, they do have a pretty view. One more thing is we did order the pie to go and got 4 pcs of different ones since they said it all was home made and their specialty. Not worth it, not very good, would never get their pie again either. In summation I would say their family tradition needs to be reconsidered and this market in Shreveport needs to be considered. One can travel to a dozen great restaurants in half the time. They are 45 minutes from our house and there are too many great places with solid drinks for that kind of money, just 20 minutes from our house. So – hope they will rethink because I did always love the view. Thanks. Please consdier and rethink your setup.

The steak was seasoned well. Little under cooked(ordered Med. Rare, came more in the rare side). I think the reason for coming here is the ambiance and the view; that being said, when charging ~$ 30 for a ribeye there should NOT be a kids menu. I didn’t pay to hear a crying kid.

Wonderful view-upscale dining! The fish is all you can eat. We had a party of 5. They brought out ONE plate of fish with 3 wholes and 6 filets for us(we all ordered a mix of filtes and wholes). The wait time for the fish was about 25 minutes each time. They bring one plate of fries to share. Cole slaw and tarter sauce was exceptional– catfish was good. I wasn’t blown away by this restaurant.

This place is amazing! We’ve been several times and the fish and french fries are fantastic!!! We’re so excited to have a place near us and on the lake! The atmosphere is fun with a great view of Cross Lake. When it first opened we went over in the boat, that was fun, and we’re looking forward to doing that again this summer. :)

Terrible experience… Location is great, building is beautiful. I really wanted to love this place. However, I will not go back. There is no menu, they have only 3 choices and don’t tell you the prices. They do not know how to cook a steak and the only other options are cold fish or shrimp. The bean soup was the only thing I enjoyed, but the poor service ruined that too. Staff are not trained well, manager is unprofessional. I hope they turn this place around, as it has such potential.

Excellent service. Two choices… steak or catfish. You can’t go wrong with either. They bring out all the fixins which really makes the meal. Just like being at Mama’s house. Beautiful view of Cross Lake.

If you want all you can eat GREAT catfish with all the trimmings(bean soup, french fries, coleslaw, homemade tartar sauce, fresh onion and dill and sweet pickles… oh…and their hushpuppies… well, this is your place. All of this and an awesome view of Cross Lake. This is where the old Smith’s Cross Lake Inn was on S. Lakeshore Dr. Want a steak instead of catfish… they have that, too. Daniel and Caitlin Prince(the same Prince family that has the Port Au Prince on Lake Claiborne in Homer, LA) have recently opened this restaurant. Nice family and GREAT food. We had a party of 11 last night and we were ALL extremely pleased with the dining experience! Oh, and you want to save room for a slice of their homemade pies! They will see me often!
