Crescent City Bistro

My mother and I were in town for my father’s heart surgery. We were staying in a local hotel and decided to go grab a bite to eat before crashing for the evening. We couldn’t really decide what to eat and the front desk recommended a local Mexican food restaurant. We had pretty much made up our minds until I ran across this restaurant in Unilocal.I read the reviews and saw the pictures. We decided to give it a try. NOTE: the restaurant is inside the Moonrider Inn m. Keep in mind this is not a fancy, black tie place, but has very laid back, welcoming atmosphere. The wait staff were very helpful and friendly. The Cajun being played set the ambiance as if we were in New Orleans.
We started with the Spicy Crab Claws with toasted crostini — fantastic! This dash had a little heat so if you cannot handle spicy food, I’d stay away. We loved it!
Next we both tried a cup of their corn and crab bisque — also very good!
For our entrees my mother had ½ a shrimp po-​boy and soup (crab and corn bisque). The sandwich was very tasty and and was full of fresh fried shrimp (cornmeal fried crust). My mother couldn’t finish it all!
I ordered the Crispy Chicken Alfredo with a thickly fried pice of chicken breast stop a huge bed of fresh, garlicky Alfredo sauce! Again, it was delicious! I couldn’t even finish half of it as we were so full from devouring all the other food!
Where ready to leave at this point and couldn’t eat another bite. Before we left, the chef sent out a cup of their white chocolate bread pudding. Was also very tasty!
All in all, our compliments to the chef and his team. The food was beyond what we were expecting and there is no doubt we will be returning with other family members!
If you’re looking for something new to try or want to have a quick bite of food full of flavor and just the right amount of spices, I’d give them a visit!

I decided to try this little place out based on the reviews here on Unilocal.You do have to be on the look out that the restaurant is located inside rhe gates if a hotel. Now to the food. It was very good and nice size portions. I had the meatloaf with mashed potatoes which came with a side salad. I also tried their crawfish bread and it was really good. The staff was very friendly and took care of the people coming into the restaurant.

I wish Unilocal offered half stars because this place is better than a mediocre 3 but not quite ready for 4(I’ll admit that I’m a hard grader). This location is seconds from the airport and convenient to 220(3132) and I-​20. The restaurant is well lit with both natural and man made light. It’s modestly decorated and overall comfortable. The majority of the staff were friendly and receptive. The service was prompt and our server was very polite. We ordered the soup du jour which was crab and corn chowder. It was very good. We also had the fried crawfish tails which in my opinion were fried perfectly but lacked a bit of seasoning. The entrees were the crispy chicken Alfredo and Fresh fish Orleans. Both dishes were pretty good but also lacked a bit of seasoning. For my taste it could have used a pinch more salt or creole seasoning, more onion, and lots more garlic. However the dishes were still tasty, well prepared and presented. Let’s end this on a sweet note. The white chocolate bread pudding was phenomenal. Sweet, decadent, with lots of flavor profiles. The serving was a bit skimpy for $ 5, but as far as quality, it was top notch! I think this place is good now and will get even better with time. I’m sure I’ll go back.

Great food. Even proportions of spice, seasoning and flavor. The in house made dipping sauce for the fried crawfish app was Very Good! The food comes out in a timely manner and is fresh and hot! Although I wouldn’t exactly say it has the exact New Orleans flavors they promote, it is definitely a good tide over until your next N.O. visit. For a self owned establishment the location is fairly good (off I20) but they could use some additional signage. It’s inside the Moonrider Inn. It’s clean and the N.O. style music was a great touch! The service was good and the waitress was attentive (may have to ask for necessities like more water and napkins) but the personal convo going on across the restaurant was unprofessional. I didn’t really need to know about the new waiter that couldn’t start a couple days ago because she has to finish at Olive Garden… LOL! All in all the experience was nice and I’ve already referred a couple people. I’ll be back for desserts

As the waiter bought out the main dish it was presented very well, and I have to say this is the best bistro in this area. And the dessert was absolutely delicious, you will not be disappointed the food speaks for itself.

I recently relocated to a hotel down the street from this place and when I asked for a local recommendation, I was given the name of this restaurant. It is located inside of the Moonrider Inn, so I almost missed it. I went inside and the waitresses were friendly. I ordered the half po boy with a salad to go and the food was ready in no time. When I got back to my hotel, I dug in. The food was YUMMY! The ranch salad dressing was homemade and the bread on the po boy was soft and fresh. The shrimp were seasoned just right. I would definitely recommend this place!

I wish I could give this place 10 stars. It’s barely a week old and already one of the best places to eat in Shreveport. It’s worth the drive. They’re using the real deal leidenheimer PO boy bread for their poboys. They’re the only people doing that as far as I know in Shreveport. Everyone else uses gambinos. The BBQ shrimp were excellent, as was the stuffed shrimp. My husband got the filet and it was cooked perfectly med-​rare. We also got desert, banana foster cheesecake, which was actually made by them not something from a distributor, and the bread pudding, both were fantastic. Geaux eat here!
