We came here with my inlaws and I was surprised by the quality of food. The atmosphere is okay and for some reason made me expect a lower quality of food. The service was excellent. We had a young waitress and she was very attentive and polite. We took a while to decide and she was patient with us. We ordered different foods to try. I ended up trying the seafood gumbo and crawfish. The seafood gumbo was delicious and spicy how I like it. I am a big fan of seafood gumbo, and this was one of my favorites. The crawfish were pretty good too, but I am new to eating crawfish and havent had any bad crawfish. Overall, the atmosphere was okay, the food was delisious and the service was great. If I lived closer to this location I would visit more often.

Flavorless brisket. Cole slaw did not taste good. Flavor of ribs nothing special. Disappointing. The place was freezing too.

Great étouffée. Casual atmosphere. We also had a fried seafood platter. Cornmeal style batter, good portions, fast service. We were passing through headed for Dallas and we will definitely stop by again.

There is no beer here. Crawfish without beer is like Oreos without milk. While that is one reason for the low rating, it certainly wasn’t the only reason. Crawfish was«just okay» but, in all fairness, our visit occurred in December. There was very little spice to the boil. Fries had a Cajun seasoning. Bbq ribs were a bit greasy without a whole lot of meat. Fried pickles were good, but we’re almost too salty. Sweet tea was good. I felt the meal was a bit on the pricy side. Our bill was 43.00 for two soft drinks, three lbs of crawfish, a side of fries and a small rib plate. A bit high, especially considering Shane’s has pretty poor ambiance and only adequate service.

I feel sorry for the people who actually think this place has«great» Cajun food. They just don’t know true Cajun food. I am from south Louisiana, so I know how true Cajun food is supposed to taste. And Shanes sells some bland food just slathered in Tony Chaceres seasoning. Seriously? They call this«Cajun food»??? I call it garbage. They even have Tony’s in a shaker at the table. If the food was good, why would your customers need to season it some more??? If people in the Shreveport area think this food is good, they would probably not know how to act if they ate somewhere like Prejean’s in Lafayette, LA. I even gave the a second Chance and tried their«famous» BBQ, which is just as horrible. The baked beans even taste like they just emptied a can of pork n beans into a pot and added a little barbecue sauce. These people have a lot to learn, and so do most of their customers obviously. Because I hear of people bragging about how good this place is, those people just don’t know what«good» really tastes like.

Shane’s is awesome! This is the only place I get crawfish from & I’ve never had a problem after all these years. i can not wait until crawfish season begins but even out of season the food is really really good. I always get seafood gumbo or a fish combo. i have never been disappointed. The inside is very large so them being packed has never been an issue. I dont know what shreveport would do without Shane’s!!!

Little to pricey for me. Uh, crawfish or filet mignon! Well that’s about all I got to say about that. Service is decent. I prefer there barbecue over there seafood. I had there 3 meat platter and was big enough to feed me twice which I sayin something. Not sure how good that looks to them sayin the barbecue is better than their seafood considering its a seafood place well… It’s just my opinion. A lot of my friends like the place and I do eat here just not very regular.

When in my wife’s hometown — this is our«go-to» for some of the best Crawfish in town. The key here is to pay extra and get their«select» crawfish — these are some of the best I have had, really good size, Big, but not too big. At $ 4.99 a lb its still less than you will pay outside of LA, but trust me it is worth it. How good? The 3 of us put away 10lbs and would have loved to have had more! The Spice was spot on and I like it spicy, its what I don’t like about Crawfish elsewhere, they don’t make it spicy enough. In the past I would have only put Shavers above Shanes in terms of Crawfish in Shreveport — now I would put them both on the same level. When not having crawfish, they have several other Cajun specialties on the menu and their BBQ is good too, I have been several times, and have never had a bad meal. On my visits to town, this has now become a «Must do»

I was in Shreveport recently and needed my Crawfish fix so my dad and I ventured out to Shane’s. I’m from Bossier, and I most recently lived near the Shanes in Bossier on E Texas down by the new BPCC campus. The wife and I usually went to Shanes for Crawfish because it was close, although the best is crawfish palace out on HWY80. That said, the crawfish here at the mansfield road location are delicious! Totally tasty. Cooked right because they are easy to peel. It was the first week of the season so they were on the small side. Still, 4 stars for the crawfish. I downed 3 pounds and could have eaten a few more. The red beans and rice are also really good, and the Gumbo is just OK. Minus a star for the following: My favorite part of a crawfish boil is the corn and potatoes cooked in the seasoning with the crawfish. Here they cook them seperate so you have to sprinkle on seasoning at the table. It is NOT the same. The BBQ here is just average. Honestly, Podnuh’s is way better. It’s OK, but I don’t taste smoke. I feel the need to drown it in sauce. The rest of the seafood is all pretty good, but it’s mostly fried stuff. The crawfish is the way to go when they are in season. Shane’s does them right, and has been doing so for several years now.

My BF always talks about how much he misses crayfish boils and food from Louisiana when we are in California so when we finally went to his hometown for a wedding he was sure to get me some. The little shack around the corner from his house was closed so we Unilocaled this place. We got 3 lbs of cooked crayfish along with 2 pieces of corn and 4 pieces of potatoes for around $ 17. I think they have a 3 lb minimum for crayfish. We got it to go and they we were in and out the door in 10 min.

I’m not real impressed here. Bit too salty and $ 8 for a la carte shrimp that were teeny tiny? Nah, I’ll not be running back real soon. Sorry. Not horrible just not my fav.

MMMMMMMMMMM! This place is sooooo good. They have everything you expect to find at a cajun seafood restaurant plus barbecue, alligator, and other items from the south. I sat and deliberated over the menu for about 15 minutes. From fried pickles and green tomatoes to etoufees, boudin, po’ boys, and gumbos they pretty much have it all. They also offer all you can eat soup(including etoufees, gumbo, red beans and rice), potato, and salad bars for a very satisfying price. I am a HUGE fan of this place now, especially since they have the best boiled crawfish of any restaurant I have been to in Shreveport. At $ 2.39 a pound it’s hard to beat. I myself demolished 4lbs today alone. They have giant orders of fried pickles for a little over $ 2 and they were some of the best I’ve had. We also had the fried green tomatoes which were OK… and a thing called pistolettes which are dinner rolls stuffed with crab, shrimp, or crawfish and deep fried which were just crazy(and incomprehensible). The portions are HUGE and you definitely get your money’s worth. The service was sweet as you would expect from any southern neighborhood restaurant. We pigged out since it was our first time sampling from their menu and I expect we will time and time again. I definitely recommend this place to anyone wanting to sample good down home cajun food! MUCH better than Crawdaddy’s. Go here and you won’t regret it.
