vegetarian friendly phở and it was good — vegetable based broth with veggies and tofu #19. I wish more phở places offered this.

Phở Real has the best phở in the whole DMV. Their bubble tea is delicious too. I love the atmosphere, the staff is so friendly that I feel like I am having a meal with my own family :) If you have not checked this place out, you really need to… you will not be disappointed!

It was just okay to me. I think the next time, I will have to sit down and eat at the restaurant in order to really appreciate the experience.

Not fancy at all, but the food is good, service is friendly, and the restaurant is clean. A must-visit every week in the area.

This is probably the best phở in the Maryland area that I’ve tried(and I’ve had plenty in Baltimore county, HoCo, MoCo, and Baltimore city). Clean broth, good portions, quality rare steak(get it on the side and then add to your soup yourself so it’s tender), and a simple menu… what more can you ask for? This family gem is located in a little strip mall and has a simple menu: phở, bubble tea, spring rolls, and summer rolls. If you’re looking for other things like bun(vermicelli), banh hoi, bun bo hue, rice dishes and the like… then seek another place. This place specializes in phở and they are great at it. The broth is clear and clean — not greasy tasting at all, and there’s a good portion of noodles and meat. I always order either rare steak/tripe/well done flank or rare steak/tripe and get the rare steak«on the side.» They bring out the meat on the side so that I can put it in myself and this makes it more tender and not as cooked but if you’re not fancy of putting your own raw meat in the soup, then don’t ask for it on the side. I also order a bowl of onion in vinegar and add Sriracha and hoisin sauce and mix it up to eat with my phở. The staff is friendly and always a constant so the service is always on par. If you’re looking for phở, this is the place to go… you won’t regret it! Bön appetit ya’ll!

The 2016 cheap good food tour starts here. Of course based on that WP article that appeared at the end of 2015. Tried the summer rolls with peanut sauce. Very light tasting and refreshing. Mild tasting. Thai iced tea very tasty not too sweet or over powering. But I know, you want to know how the phở is. It’s good. It’s real good. It may have improved my life in mysterious ways. The broth is flavorful and fresh. I like to put in a couple of jalapeño peppers and some sriracha for additional kick and it really brings out the flavor of everything. Noodles are also good and the meat is fresh tasting. You can tell it hasn’t just been sitting around in a pot like some other phở places(not mentioning names). Price can’t be beat.

Not fancy at all. I’d been driving pass this place for years and ended up going with coworkers one day. Best phở I’ve had! The place is clean and the phở is the best I’ve had! Definitely worth the drive. Working on being a regular!

It is a great place for couples to large groups. The phở is always perfect – no matter what you decide to get. The service is first class and the attention you get is NOT over bearing!

Just as good as Phở 75, but on my side of town, in Silver Spring. Inexpensive, and the kids love it too. A winner all around.

Oh so good, phở real!!! I must admit I love phở, but I am not a beef phở fan. The first time I tried it, I just didn’t like it. So, today I ordered my usual phở ga(chicken). The broth was definitely on point. I ordered a small and was super super full, but it was so good I just could not stop! The portion of noodles was great, and the amount of chicken was also pretty large(nice big slices). So I will admit, this place is as good as it seems… And here is the main reason I gave it a 5⁄5; I tried my boyfriend’s beef phở, and OMG!!! I actually freaking loved it. The meat was actually tasty and the broth was just delicious. So next time, I am definitely getting a bowl of beef phở! I will never be afraid of beef phở again, phở real! Other: *young coconut juice. Fresh and delicious. *Tofu summer roll with peanut sauce(nice size rolls, and tasty firm tofu).

To begin, I’m not a huge fan of phở. If I’m dining Vietnamese and there’s something else on the menu… I’m getting the something else. At Phở Real, where I ended up on a whim last night with my phở-craving boyfriend, there isn’t. You’re eating phở or you’re not eating, and at 9 months pregnant, I’m eating. And I’m glad, because such limitations led to a truly righteous meal. I got the skirt flank, and honestly, the quality of the meat kind of blew me away. For whatever reason I’d grown to expect subpar cuts of meat in phở, either tough or fatty and relying on the broth to carry the dish. Not the case here. Remarkably tender and flavorful. The«small» size was well priced and more than enough. Washed down with some top-notch Thai bubble tea, I left a happy camper. The staff was super friendly, too. That’s what truly made this a five star locale. The proprietor chatted with me about their fruit teas(made from real fruit, not powder) and how stinky durian really is(answer: very stinky). Very cool place. Will be back!

I travel around and visit every phở place I can in moco. Staff is always friendly. Phở is decent. Although I feel that used to much MSG. I prefer Heip Hoa or Cam Rahn Bay in Wheaton.

Still in my top 3 Phở spots in the DMV after all these years. Really good broth, plenty of meat and noodle, clean, and great service. I only wish it was closer to Rockville.

Let me just say, this is a great place for what it is. It’s a quick quality meal. The staff is very friendly and remembers the regulars. I tend to come for lunch when I work at home and the food is always super speedy. There’s not much place to wait, but there’s usually seating fairly quickly or always available seating since the turn around is quick. It’s not fancy by any means, but very clean and the food is fresh. The menu is limited outside of phở and spring/summer rolls but the phở is excellent.

They only sell phở — no other noodle dishes or rice dishes. They also have eggrolls and bubble tea. But wow that broth! I could drink it for forever. It was light and clean, but still flavorful without all the salt! Normally I drink the soup and need to drink about equal amounts of ice water because I think it’s so salty, but I could just drink a whole tub of this soup! I loved it. They also gave a decent amount of noodles with the order. My only negative comment would be that the portion size compared to sized seemed more expensive than I think. I think I’m too used to giant portions of phở, so I was a little surprised at the smaller size of the bowls. Therefore I think it is slightly more expensive than I’d like, but that doesn’t mean I wasn’t full since they gave a good amount of noodles. The broth is worth it!

This location has my attention. Honestly the broth is what can make or break your meal. The broth must taste fresh and not fatty or oily. I usually always forget the number so I ask for the phở with no fat. This location(so far) is the only one ive visited that sells smoothies with tapioca balls. The mango is my favorite! I will definitely be back.

I’ve been to Phở Real numerous times. It’s hands down my favorite Phở restaurant in the Baltimore/DC area. THEGOOD … –easy parking –polite and friendly staff –takes credit cards –vegetarian options –phở broth is excellent –noodles are big and delicious in soup –summer rolls with peanut sauce is good THEBAD… NOTHING! Overall I enjoy coming here when I can. The food is filling and very good. Highly recommend to Phở fans!

Another small strip mall phở places kicking out some pretty good phở. The broth here isn’t too onion-y and seems to have a little less salt which makes it a little cleaner IMO. Sometimes they are a little short on the beef other times not. Also prices have been going up but I’ve noticed this at most of the phở places I regularly visit. Currently I think a large is around 10, small is around 8. The coffee is pretty good and is a little less sweet than other places. The service has always been good and the phở comes out pretty quickly, staying true to the fact that this is the fast food of Vietnam. You’re supposed to get it quickly. Also the hoisin sauce isn’t as thick here. I’m a fan.
