I really wanted this to be better, because I love these small mom and pop type places. But it was just okay. My turkey club was deli turkey and at the end of it’s shelf life. Roast Beef melt was better. Fries were good and coleslaw was good too. Not sure I’d make a special trip, but would go again after hiking at Blackstar. The servers were excellent and i think the breakfast foods would have made a better choice.

This is a great destination spot for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I ride my Harley through the canyon and stop for coffee and breakfast. The staff is super friendly and the food and coffee are good. I love the old-town feel of the place. The bathrooms are primitive but adequate. The parking is a dirt lot but that is all part of the charm.

Played hookie from work with my boyfriend and came here for breakfast on a random Monday. Wow. .it’s small, rustic and quaint. Serves mimosas which is key! The service was great and the food was amazing. I had the chicken fried steak topped with gravy(bacon gravy that is!), side of sunny side up eggs, a biscuit(aka, fluffy pillow of love) and the most perfectly golden brown home fries. Yep, just like random days off, this place is a keeper!

This is a perfect place to get away from the over Botoxed monsters found in South Orange County. This gem is perfect for getting a home cooked meal. Very simple interior, cash only payment, and old world charm.

Going to this place was a throwback in time! One of a kind to experience. I can’t think of another place like this in Orange County. The menu is extensive. Had a patty melt and it was great! My husband had a Mexican platter with an enchilada and taco. I’m not sure why but I probably wouldn’t get it at this place. I think he agreed. You have to order something that you normally would get in a diner like a greasy cheeseburger or something! The French fries were cooked perfectly– nice and crunchy! Staff is very nice. Very clean. I will be coming back to get breakfast. It’s a trek out to this place but well worth it. Doesn’t hold a lot of people inside or even in the parking lot so just be warned!

This is a destination that’s worth the drive. It’s a country diner in the middle of Orange County(on the map). Good breakfast and lunch items on the menu at a good price. I.E. Sandwich, fries and drink for about $ 9. After eating continue up the canyon, at 25 mph posted speed, and travel through a different state of being.

Tucked away in the sleepy, dusty canyons of Silverado, CA sits a dinner that lures every cowboy and traveler into the saloon. This rustic gem has all the charm of an Old West movie and a menu on par with any fine diner in America. The breakfasts here are excellent and satisfying. Thick, fluffy flap jacks, perfectly cooked eggs, crispy bacon, buttery toasted muffins and golden country potatoes make everybody happy. The burritos and burgers were equally impressive and worth the long journey into the mountain town. Want a sneak peak of what awaits you at Silverado Café?

I love this place! It’s tucked away in Silverado canyon and has that locals only feel. Not to mention the breakfast is amazing! Been going here since I was a kid and continue to go back. The perfect Orange County escape.

Came here after a morning hike in black star Canyon. The waitress was unpleasant and not very friendly, and the food was mediocre but still pricey. I had fish and chips. The batter was thick and hard, and the fish seemed slightly undercooked inside. The fries were completely hard and bland. Both of my friends were also disappointed in their food as well. I definitely don’t recommend this place.

I love this place. We don’t come here to often as I would like, but when we do, I make sure I enjoy it! They are very friendly and very helpful. They don’t try to sell you things over your order, in fact, they recommend other options that actually make more sence. All the food here is good and we don’t get out of here with that feeling that you ate to much and going to explode, you feel just right.

Fantastic place for your brunch! We’ve been coming here every couple of months for the last 3 years now, really good tipical american food, good and honest service too. The place is your classic American old school diner, with photos of John Wayne and desert paintings on the walls. Recomended for the whole experience.(Food, location and the whole interior)

2nd visit, I had wet chicken burrito. It’s stuffed with just all chicken. They could’ve add stir fried onions, bell peppers, jalapeños, and cheese. My beau had a breakfast machaca huevos burrito with potato fries. Huge burritos and very filling. This is not Mimi’s Café so expect it to be in such same décor as Mimi’s.The prices are reasonable. Dress very casual. Hikers and locals often stop here to eat.

Hidden gem for sure and I hope it stays that way. I try something different every time and have yet to be disappointed. The food is great. It’s a Sunday tradition :-)

Decided to take an adventure and head out to the canyons in Orange County. We always knew this place existed but didn’t know much else. We were a little hesitant at first since they don’t have a website with a menu and pricing, and they only take cash(not alot of ATMs in this area either.) Very small inside. Maybe 10 booths, 5 tables and a small counter. No air conditioning. We were greeted by a friendly girl(who is also the server) and said to sit anywhere we wanted. Half the menu was Mexican food and the other half was traditional Gringo café food. Prices were very reasonable. I got the carnitas plate which came with rice, beans, tortillas, and a large portion of pork. Very tasty. Only improvement would have been to serve with guacamole which I understand they only have on Taco Tuesday. My wife had the combo plate with a carnitas taco and cheese enchilada. Looked good and she was very happy. Total for two meals, soda and two beers… $ 27. Not bad for the OC. Going back next time for breakfast.

This is my second visit to the Silverado café. The first visit was decent at best, today’s visit was an all-around mess of both service and food. The four-star rating this place gets is mind boggling. It was somewhat full today, but there were still open tables entire time we were there. It has a homey local feel. it seems to be a popular stop along the road with bikers, as I’ve seen bikes and bikers at this place both times being there, and there’s not much else around. The service today, or lack there of wasn’t just our table taking notice. Multiple tables would have to hunt the waitress down, for coffee refills, silverware that wasn’t put out, or for simple food requests. Anytime your customers have to start leaving their seats to find you in one room restaurant that is not a good thing. cmy wife has gluten allergies, and simply asked for there to be no toast on her food. Her food arrives covered and toast. So they take her food back, and it does return minus the toast, but now it’s missing the potatoes that it had the first time. Then trying to track the waitress down to get those potatoes back was a new challenge. My Denver omelette came out greasy and just overall looking unappetizing. My toast came out unbuttered and bacon crispy as all heck when I asked for it not to be. The cheese in my omelette was kind of melted but just globs of cheese. The him inside was burnt and onions were soaked with grease and huge chunks of bell peppers. I could not of been more disappointed with my meal or the service and will not be back to this location.
