Denny’s

Sorry I was not happy eating here. We ordered the pot roast and it was not good. The cook didn’t prepare it correctly missing the veggies and then brought some out that tasted like it was frozen with a freezer burnt taste. Heated over a dirty grill.
The plus side is that the waitress was very polite and helpful.

One of the best experiences I’ve ever had. The server, Cat, was friendly, bubbly, attentive, and polite; and all so while being the only server. My only problem is that my cheeks hurt from her making me smile so much with her effervescent personality. Our food came out faster than expected, and I never knew I could get chocolate chip pancakes until Cat asked if I wanted them. Definitely go to this Denny’s (at least late at night on Monday’s, Tuesday’s, and Thursdays, when Cat’s working) if you want a smile on your face from a British-​talking, Renaissance Fair girl. I am definitely coming here when I’m in town.

Didn’t quite enjoy the service. Had a really rude waitress didn’t greet just asked if I was ready and NEVER check on me to see if I needed anything else. My toast was so burnt it was hard! Didn’t not like the service at all!

We came here, had quite a wait 25 minutes, without anyone one getting seated, customers were getting annoyed because there was quite a lot of open seating. The reasoning we were told is the kitchen was slammed. So all the tables were filled at the same time slamming the wait staff and then the kitchen again! I think this puts the wait staff in a position to get less tips then they might have by irked patrons!

Try the Bourbon Chicken Skillet. It’s really great: tender, flavorful good portion. Best meal I’ve had at a Denny’s ever and comparable to what you would get at a more expensive restaurant. Frank P.

Went here on Xmas with party of 6, immediately seated and waited on. They had extra help at desk, waiters and kitchen. Our waiter was excellent, very attentive and knew right where orders went on table. Food arrived fast and well prepared. Restaurant was very clean, I highly recommend it!

Last year, I went to Carrow’s (
for Christmas meal, and it was terrible. Thanksfully, I made a better choice this year and came to Denny’s. Yes, they were packed but with their service, you couldnt tell. Every person here worked their butts off for us. The food came out in a timely manner, refills for drinks came well before we needed them, and Angelica was attentive. What more can you ask? I had their philly cheese chicken sandwich, was yummy!

Very disappointed with the manager I think her name is Betty she is very rude and mean to her employees I was eating there and she was yelling to the cookers and servers this treatment she gives to her employees makes Dennys look bad! As far as the food it was fresh and my order was just right!

I remember when this Denny’s first open you always waited for a table, I stopped yesterday evening with my niece because we were in the mood for breakfast, the restaurant was quite empty but we got quick service and food is freshly cooked to order. Prices are a bit high for breakfast but other than that we had a good experience.

Slow service. Ultimate skillet was more like a potato skillet. Barely any sausage or anything else. Quality just not there. Grew up on Denny’s. Disappointed in this one.

Great service and eggsalent food. When I walk in I’m always greeted with and hello and when I walk out a goodbye. Those 2 things make this restaurant 5 stars. Good job Denny’s.

This location is hit or miss, but it doesn’t really matter because it’s the only reliable breakfast place in the area. Lunch is also good if you are looking for something standard like a burger. (That should give a clear picture of the culinary offerings in Southern Orange County).
So if you get lucky and don’t:
— fall through the cracks
— get there when it’s too busy
— become lost in the shuffle
— have your order get lost
— find yourself ignored by your server
you will have a decent breakfast and know what to expect quality wise.
Now given this information you might feel like you’ve hit the jackpot when everything comes together, but chances are it will only happen about one out of every two or three times.
Of course, Denny’s is one step above fast food, so you should not come here looking for a five star meal or five star service. But if you are hungry and looking for something tasty and cheap, then you can count on this location. Sometimes.

Very poor food and poor quality service. This place has gone down hill.
First about the food, I was expecting a hot chicken fried steak and good Mac n cheese. What I got was far removed from my expectations. The steak was about ¼ covered in gravy and it looked/​tasted like it came straight out of a freezer. As for the Mac n cheese I have had way better times with a box of Kraft. The picture of food you order actually looked good but what came out was TV dinner quality for $ 15. Not to mention my soda was all ice and the server never got around to refilling it at all.
Next about the service. The server didn’t even attempt to be nice and make us feel welcome. He even seemed pissed off when we told him we needed a bit more time to decide. Once he brought out our food we didn’t see him again till he brought us the checks. When we saw how much it was we literally felt robbed. $ 45 for 3 people for the amount of food we got is robbery. Needless to say we did not tip at all.
In conclusion I will never be going back and I will be discouraging everyone from going there. This was a horrible experience. I remember when this place was good and the food was good. Everything about Denny’s in foothill now is horrible.

What a surprise to find that Denny’s now has some gluten free items. I had an English muffin that was light and full of nooks and crannies, absorbing the butter and jam quite nicely.
But the best part of the meal was the service. MARIO was delightful. He was very attentive, extremely courteous and friendly and should be commended by his company for representing them so well. I will definitely come back to this location. In addition, the facility appearance was superior, very clean and well maintained.

Food ok but service was horrible. If I didn’t know any better I’ll think this diner is racist. We ordered build your own slam, 3 items came and we were done eating yet the 4^th never arrived. Finally did and delivered by the manager who is the same race as the waitress and she just placed on our table and walked away. Felt like not tipping but still tipped 18%.
Don’t go to that diner if you are not white or Mexican! Unless you don’t mind bad service. Sad that we are already in our 22^nd century and in America AND in a good area.

I’ve gone to this Denny’s ever since high school. It was a tradition for us band geeks to come here after football games and competitions for some cheap comfort food. It was mostly just a place to hangout when every other restaurant is closed. Lots of awesome times spent here with friends late at night. Now I get to review this place.
Tonight was National Pancake Day so some of my friends and I went to IHOP for some free pancakes. IHOP was beyond packed so our natural reaction was to go to Denny’s. We knew that they would have some cheap pancakes. We were greeted right as we stepped into the door and were seated right away into a cozy booth. It took a while for us to get our order since our waitress noticed that we were talking and laughing quite a bit. Once we raised our hand though she came to take our order. She was super friendly and nice to us. Our drinks came right away and our food came out in a few minuets nice and warm. The funny thing was that none of my friends or I ordered pancakes because something even better was calling to us on their menu. I got the spaghetti and meatballs with a side of garlic bread and a coca-​cola. The spaghetti was very filling and generously topped with parmesan cheese. A good comforting and filling meal and only for ten bucks. This place is great for those late night cravings and get togethers with friends.

Great promotion from Denny’s cause they know that no one will go eat by themselves on their actual bday. If you are a loner who does eat alone on your birthday, sorry I wasn’t talking about you. No offense to you :)
Happy Dennying!

I’m surprising myself and probably hurting my own accreditation by giving this Denny’s a 4, but something about this Denny’s just all clicks. From childhood, I’ve had fond memories of Denny’s and their breakfasts, but over the years, those have drastically changed.
Unlike most Denny’s that upon entering, you feel like you’re going to get murdered with their dim lights and dark aura, this one has that nice family friend aura going on. There’s a lot of other customers with the right amount of noise level and sunlight that radiates through the windows. The servers are warm and friendly, and they put out an effort to make sure your day is going well. Just that right there makes you feel like you’re entering a happy place. And c’mon, breakfast should ALWAYS be happy!!!
Onwards to the food, I got the ultimate skillet which was just great! The potatoes, sausage, spinach, everything just mixed together was divine. The skillet came out sizzling hot and I was damn impressed with what Denny’s had served me. This skillet is something I’d probably pay a lot more for at some fancy hipster brunch place. The only complaint I have about this skillet is that my poached eggs were kind of small — I wanted more runny egg drip everywhere and that the skillet is TOO hot. Why am I complaining about it being too hot? Well, the heat keeps your food warm, but it also keeps it cooking. If you don’t move around the food at the bottom until a bit later (and you probably eat top down so you won’t), some of the potatoes can burn.
My sister, on the other hand, ordered some sort of omelette, which was just ok. Typical eh Denny’s fare. The pancakes as well were forgetful, but the skillet was not!

Food that we ordered:
Prime Rib Cobb Salad — this is my favorite salad here! I love the meat and just the combination of the salad
Avocado Chicken Caesar Salad — pretty good, but dressing is a bit overwhelming
Prime Rib and Chicken Skillet — totally enjoyed this! I love how the potatoes were cooked
Bourbon Chicken Skillet — this was pretty good too, again the veggies were cooked very well
Club Sandwich — it is very tasteful, can be a pretty healthy sandwich if you do not get the french fries
Desserts:
Caramel Apple Crisp — love the combo of the caramel, brown sugar, apple slices, little bits of the pie, and vanilla ice cream makes it so yummy! It is more on the sweeter side
Beverages:
Strawberry Banana Bliss Smoothie — MY FAVORITE! I LOVE IT!
Orange Groove Smoothie — basically eating ice cream!!!
Groovy Mango Smoothie — not really a fan of this
Service:
Typically service is only okay here, but one of our favorite waiters (Jesse) makes everything enjoyable and fabulous! He always has conversations with us and tries to get to know us better. Jesse always makes sure we are comfortable and that we are having a good time. He also makes the BEST smoothies! (he knows how to get it right!!!).
Note: Jesse honestly makes my rating from 3 star to 3.5 star (if only Unilocal does half stars too)!
