Run, don’t walk, to check this place out. This is the real deal. Yes, it’s behind a fake farm stand. Yes, it’s in a trailer. I can’t tell you how many«famous» ice cream places I’ve been in across the country and how often I’ve been disappointed.(Hint: If you close your eyes, taste the ice cream, and can’t tell what flavor it is, that’s bad.) The flavors are adventurous. In addition to vanilla and chocolate, when I was there they had Early Grey with plumped sour cherries, Lemon Buttermilk, and Lavender Honey(I’m told you either like it or you don’t, and I do…). On a different visit I ordered the Breck Brickle and it was superb.(You can taste the great flavor even if you’re NOT chewing on one of the delicious homemade toffee pieces). The texture is rich, with no ice crystals or gummy aftertaste. My only regret is that I ran out of room before I could try everything!(Yes, the friendly woman behind the counter DID offer my free samples, but…) Don’t forget to check out their wide selection of hula-hoops, available to take for a test spin.

We were stranded in Silverthorne this summer because our car essentially blew the engine. While walking along the river we stopped by for a treat. Just so happened the incredibly positive owner went to the same school as my girlfriend so they jubilantly yakked for half an hour prior to us even getting around to the dessert. I have worked many years making ice cream so I’d like to consider myself a good judge. This ice cream is solid. Not palette blowing yet not underwhelming. It gets the job done and the passionate service makes up for it! Consistancy-wise it was creamy and without ice crystals.(my #1 pet peeve). I had the trendy salted offering. Imho it was a dash heavy on the salt but seems to be that NaCl is the haute custard flavor nowadays. I will definitely stop again next time through to try other flavors. My only unsolicited advice in the world of ice cream is to stick to the basics and do them freaking well. I have encountered many a bastardized rendition of the classics and if I were to get back into spinning, I’d churn out simple traditional French flavors. Joy!

We read the reviews comparing it to Little Man & chose this place over all the other spots in Silverthorne & Frisco. The owner was super friendly & helpful & her truck is cute. They have picnic tables outside to sit on as well as bubbles for the kids & hoola hoops. The kids loved the bubbles & hoops:) the ambience is great, but unfortunately, the ice cream didn’t compare to little man ice cream :(The flavors weren’t strong & it wasn’t as creamy as I thought it would be. I tried a variety of flavors & the one that had the most distinctive flavor was the earl grey with cherries. So, the ice cream was just ok…

Just wow. So, make sure you keep your eyes open for this one. It’s little trailer off the side of the blue river parkway, easily missed. But! You will be very disappointed if you miss it. Very highly creative flavors, and absolutely delicious! They keep a set of flavors that are based off of Colorado beers, as well as an aray of very amazing non-beer flavors. You truly taste the quality of it being churned daily, and with local organic Colorado diary. If you are lucky and time it well, their palisade peach flavor is truly out of this world, and tastes like actual peaches! I got the distinct feeling actual Colorado palisade peaches are involved in the creation of this divine flavor! And oh, btw. They also will do made to order fresh waffle cones. For this familiar with Denver, I bet you are wondering how this compares to little man or Bonnie brae. Well, the answer is on par if not better. And made far better by the fact that there is no line!!! So, moral of the story. If you find yourself in keystone or silverthorne, you’ll be making a bad decision if you don’t come get some.

Very delicious ice cream; creamy, smooth, and flavorful. Passing through and worth the stop. Located in a trailer adjacent to 400 Blue River Parkway and a walking/biking trail with several outdoor seating to enjoy a cup or cone of ice cream. Highly recommended!

Visited Higgles at the Dillon Farmer’s Market and it was flat out fantastic. The owner was super friendly, talking to us about her different flavors, offering samples, and explaining her process. It really adds to the experience when you get that kind of personal service. The ice cream was decadent and delicious. The earl grey was easily the best version of the flavor I’d ever had, with dried cherries to contrast and bring out the flavor of the tea. The strawberry pop tart showed restraint and playfulness. The Hawaiian bacon managed to include bacon without having it overpower the subtler pineapple flavor. The waffle cones are fresh, still warm fresh, and the marshmallow at the bottom to keep the ice cream from making a mess is ingenious and tasty. I wish Higgles was somewhere I could go everyday, and though both my wallet and my waistline would suffer greatly, it would be worth it.
