I honestly thought this place was amazing. While working for an armoured transportation company we ran across this«teriyaki» spot and let me tell you, it WASAMAZEBALLS! lol… the amount of food you get is crazy and extra chicken is like 1.50 which to me is too cheap but hey, not my store hah. I highly reccomend this place if you need a teriyaki fix. J will definitely stop by whenever I am around the area.

Horrible the worst food I’ve ever had, it tasted like dog food. Nothing is freshly made so gross couldn’t even eat it. I’ve worked at Japanese restaurants for 8 years and I have had bad food before but this was the worst I can’t believe they’re still in business.

I remember it being better as kid. Out dated like most typical Chinese places. The food was okay. I got a spicy chicken bowl. A large one came out to about $ 5.36 would I eat here again? Probably not. This was first time in like 10 years.

I have been going to the Chicken Bowl since it opened. Unfortunately it still looks the same as it did when it first opened. Still a good value for your buck. The owners are very particular about their menu. Don’t expect over friendliness, polite is the closest you will get to it. Definitely worth checking out if you are new to the area. Small chicken bowl can feed two people.

You cannot go wrong with Chicken Bowl. I have been coming here for years and never have I been disappointed with it. Their portions are huge and every bring is delicious. I get the half chicken half steak, spicy with rice. The people who work there are friendly. It seems to be a family owned business.

So effing good. Every time we visit LA, this is a must stop. Never disappoints. Not many reasons to go to Simi Valley, but this is one of them. Perfectly steamed vegetables. Delicious sauce, not too sweet. Amazing chicken, cooked perfectly. And all for $ 5.

This place is amazing. Fast service, the food is delicious. They never disappoint. The longest I had to wait for my food would have to be no longer than 3 mins tops. Just outstanding service.

This is a small hole-in-the-wall restaurant with surprisingly good food. They have an assortment of primarily different types of bowls, such as noodle, rice, or vegetable topped with chicken, beef, or shrimp. They use a brown sauce and have a delicious hot sauce for those that like spicy food. The portions are big, which is great. The only real drawback is they don’t take credit cards, so bring cash. I don’t go as often as I would if they accepted credit cards so I’m hopeful this will eventually change.

Last week I flew in from Chicago to LAX for a Food-service trade show in Anaheim and drove, in the rain, 45 minutes for this treat. And I would do it again! Having moved from Simi Valley in the later part of the last millennium, I have seriously been pining over this place for over this place for quite some time now and was so happy to see that it is still in operation. I think this place has been in business for over 20 years now. A testament to its customer base and loyalty. The menu is crazy simple and consists of just 2 sizes, Large and Small. That’s it. A loaded large serving has got to be a solid 2 pounds of food. Into the large styrofoam container goes a bed of white rice. Followed by a layer of cooked vegetables such as cabbage and carrots(not sure if it is steamed or quick wok fried) leaving a bit of al-dente crunch to them. Then comes a selection of chicken, steak or shrimp or any combination of the 3. Just the mixed vegetables are also available. It is finished with a robust slathering of teriyaki sauce, garlic sauce, or both and maybe a bit of Szechwan sauce, if you like it spicy. That’s pretty much it, simplicity at its finest. It’s just variations on those combinations after that. Although, I see they have added noodles, effectively doubling their menu. And Bring CASH. They do not accept CC, but do have an ATM. You want a beverage? Here’s your cup, soda is on the right… NEXT! I’m telling you it’s just genius in its lean process. It’s a 2 man operation at best and they just crank it out. It’s like Seinfeld’s Soup Nazi of Asian food only less rude. Not a lot of talking here. This is a working man’s grub stop. Get it and go. We all got places to be. My last time at the Chicken Bowl in Simi Valley was over 15 years ago when I live there and made sales calls in LA and the surrounding area. It was so relaxing to come home after long drives from Victorville, Palm Springs and Barstow, just starving for a big, satisfying meal. I’d get home with a big ol’ teriyaki chicken bowl of chicken, rice and spice and eat and then collapse. I am so pleased to see that it has remained the same, with the same hefty portions and deliciousness I remember. I also see that in 20 years the owners still don’t know English very well. So there’s not going to be much conversation. I was trying to compliment them on a job well done, but that convo just wasn’t happening. Too bad :(They are just too damn busy serving up amazing tasting food for the hard working masses. Keep it up. I WILLBEBACK!

I have only been here once and I was quite satisfied with my meal. I ended up getting the Beef with rice(though I asked for noodles, though the rice was a good choice overall) with Spicy Garlic Sauce. I ended up getting the small size which was about $ 7 or so. I really enjoyed this dish, however I wish they gave a few more veggies. The flavor wasn’t too salty and the spiciness wasn’t actually very spicy at all which was nice, had just enough flavor. Again, as many mentioned you need cash, they do have an ATM($ 1.75 fee). They are quick to serve, I ended up waiting 2 minutes tops!(Tuesday afternoon). I can say I would come back here again if I am in the area as it is a bit far from me.

Really good. Lots of food!!! No way im going to finish this all. The steak bowl is brocolli and beef style with lots of rice and cabbage. The service is extremely fast. Definitely fast food. It tastes fresh too not like fast food. And they make stuff in a wok. You can hear and see the guy make the food.

Big portions and low prices, now that is something to feel good about. Shrimp and steak with vegetables over white rice with teriyaki sauce and hot garlic sauce, that is the best combination you can get. The only drawback for this restaurant is that it is cash only but you could feed a family of four for under $ 20. I highly recommend this restaurant!

Got the teriyaki rice bowl bowl I gave it three stars because of the portion for the price but for some reason some of my chicken was good and some of it just mushy and no flavor. Mighty try again.

I remember eating here as a kid, and I loved it. Fast forward all these years and nothing had changed… For $ 6 I ate a delicious spicy chicken bowl. I can’t find any other place as good. It took me about an hour & a half to get here from Fontana, but it was worth it!

After driving past this place for the majority of my life, I decided to stop in. I had a chicken and rice bowl with spicy garlic chicken. It smelt promising, but tasted less than ideal. The chicken was a bit rubbery, and had the consistency as if ti had been cooked and left out for a while before served. Maybe even reheated. The sauce was uninspiring. The restaurant is a bit dirty and old, but that’s always forgivable. No real need to come back here again for seconds. =[

The food here is ok, everything is precooked and then sauced when you order so the food comes out in a minute. I think yoshinoya beef bowl had better flavor. Nothing special, ton of rice compare to protein ratio. I guess if you want to carb up come here. The so called teriyaki sauce has no flavor it was just thick and had a taste of soy sauce. Using the chili sauce they had in bottles helped. The food could be improved if they would improve the sauce and charbroil the meats. BRINGCASH! Depending on what you order and you stick to chicken only, you do get a lot of food more rice than anything for a cheap price.

Have been eating here for quite a while now, and have always been pretty well pleased by the quality of the ingredients. The bowls are big and the taste is within the acceptable range. Is it the best Teriyaki I have ever had? No, but its not as bad as some might have you think either; just basic grub at a fair price. Another plus for me is, the entire family likes this place, and that is a good thing. The combo bowl, steak and chicken, with extra veggies, over rice, is the wife’s and my hands down favorite bowl; go large and you have a great midnight snack later on. Bottom line; its a healthy change up from the normal pizza or burger requests that many rushed dinners get turned into, and that is a very good thing.
