Long time customer. Really pains me to write this, but unless the owner is actually working, making the sandwiches… Don’t expect it to be good. Through the years, I’ve let alot go since the actual sandwiches can be outstanding! But again, unless the actual owner is there to make your sandwich, it won’t happen.
So so disappointed.
Ordered large Chicken Teriyaki sandwich. Asked only that the onions be cooked well as they have a tendency to have some that are slightly raw, usually no biggie. This time however, was a bit too much for me… chicken felt like rubber, thought I kept biting into fat actually, but was the chicken. Gross.
Until the owner can get ppl that can make a well balanced sandwich, I can not refer ppl here, nor will I be back until things change. Sigh. :(

I’m grading based on food and atmosphere. Five stars. However only 2 stars for service.
My sandwich was absolutely delicious and the ingredients seemed super fresh. I like that they dice the pickles so that there is a nice array of them in every bite. I liked that they had a big tv and everyone in there was calmly watching it and enjoying their food.
There is very low energy from the employees. More of «make sandwich, give to customers.» And that’s it. They could stand to be a little more personable.

Sub Contractor is BY FAR my favorite place to grab a sandwich. The prices are very reasonable & the portions are huge. I love love love the Italian cold cut, and the Avocado Turkey Cheese. But I think the best sandwich they offer here is their Chipotle Steak The owner makes all his sauces, and dressings from scratch. You cannot find a sandwich as flavorful and fresh. They never disappoint, even when super busy, your order is always correct, no problems.
I just recently ordered two of their 6 foot subs for my sons first birthday party. My family and friends kept asking were the sandwiches were from because they were SO good. The Italian cold cut was gone before I could even get a slice lol. I would recommend them to anyone, especially for parties! So simple, easy and delicious. Ejaz the owner even got to work before they opened to make sure I was going to have my sandwiches in time for the party. They go above and beyond to make you happy.

This is by far one of the best sub sandwich place I’ve been to! Their sandwiches are fresh to order and personally the best hot sandwiches in town! Definetly need to come back esp for their great customer service!

Heading home from the valley… My husband and I arrived 10 minutes before Sub Contractor was closing, and as we were walking up to the store front… The employee rapidly came from around the counter, quickly locked the doors and turned off the lights. Nice customer service! Sub Contractor just lost two good customers.

This place has changed quite a bit. I showed up about a year and a half ago and thought the food was pretty good. Came back today and was pleasantly surprised that it had improved that much. Not sure if it’s new ownership, but great customer service, clean as always and delicious sandwiches! I will be going back with some of my co workers.

This Deli is beyond amazing!!! Simi’s best kept secret is this sandwich shop. Everything is fresh and made to your liking. A variety of sandwiches to choose from and each one as delicious as the next. I’m a complete food nut and will pay good money for a delicious meal and one of the great things about this place is that I don’t even have to reach deep into my pockets for a satisfying meal. The owner is awesome and gets to know all his regulars. Don’t forget to try their awesome potato salad, to die for!

My new favorite sandwich place in Simi. I got one of the vegetarian sandwiches, sooooo gooood. They even have wraps, so I got my sandwich wrapped instead of bread. It had tons of avocado/​guac. Seriously, it was really really good. They have a customer for life, not just because of how good it was, but because of the owner. He has such a kind heart. He is so nice, you can’t help but want to come here everyday.

Best cheesesteak in Simi Valley hands down. I went in there today and was told they just switched steaks, so naturally I was scared it was not gonna stack up o the old cheesesteak, but they outdid themselves and it was the best cheesesteak I’ve had in years

I had the turkey with avocado and it was super delicious! They dice the tomatoes and pickles which I like because you get a little in each bit instead of the whole topping coming off. Everything tasted very fresh, especially the turkey. This is an excellent sub shop!

The owner Ejaz is so nice and friendly when it come to making his customers happy. The sandwiches here are delicious and have so much flavor. The Italian cold cut sandwich comes with Coppacola, ham and salami. I highly recommend you try this sandwich spot and you will not be disappointed.

The Sub Contractor is an outstanding sandwich restaurant. They have this dressing which is a mix of Ceasar & Italian which is just GREAT! They service is always fast, friend. y and the resturant is always clean.

There aren’t many «decent» sub places located in the Ventura County. There are very few solid ones that can hold me over so I don’t have to venture into Los Angeles. This place being one of them.
I will drop by this place at least once a month and I always go with the Vegetarian A sandwich. The sandwich contains Avocado, Provolone, Swiss, Pepper Jack, the typical loaded vegetables and fresh bread. I always go with the large because it’s the best bang for your buck between the two sizes they offer. The pricing is very reasonable for the amount of food you receive.
The interior of the place is pretty bland, but it’s always clean and the service is always friendly.
3.0 Will do when in the area.

I have been eating here for years and really like their food. They have a large choice of different types of sandwiches and options for those sandwiches. The meats and cheese are fresh and taste really good. I like that they use a lot of meat too. It fills the sandwich, it’s not skimpy like at Subway. They have the usual sandwich compliments like chips, but they also have an assortment of different drinks, and even ice cream. The service is fast and friendly. This is a great place for lunch, but I like going for dinner too.

I liked this place! Been living in Simi for awhile, always wanted to stop by but never made the time. Yesterday me and the other half decided to stop here for lunch and give it a try. As a part-​time vegetarian, I have to say I was enthusiastically impressed with their veggie sub selection. When I say impressed I mean it actually tasted really good! A thousand times better than Subway and the like, by far. Lots of mayo and avocado, onion… It was really yummy :3 The other half got a cold cut which looked awesome, his only complaint was that it was rather messy. He enjoyed the big screen TV, though ;) All in all, I look forward to coming back here. Delicious and definitely affordable!

This has always been my favorite sub place in Simi. That’s why when I was craving the avocado turkey bacon sandwich today I was really disappointed. I ordered it with «everything» that includes tomatoes, onions, pickles, olives and mayo. I didn’t see any onions and I counted two olive slices. The Avocado was guacamole… I don’t mind guacamole but I was expecting avocado. I’ll still give it 4 stars because I’ve liked this place for so long & the turkey is really good. Please don’t slip Sub Contractor.

Pretty standard little sandwich shop in Simi Valley.
Good selection, decent prices.
The restaurant had a fair amount of seating, but it seems like most of the customers were taking their orders to-​go. However, the service isn’t quick by any means, so don’t expect a quick stop, grab, and go here.
I had the small BBQ chicken sandwich, which was big (no real need for a large from this place), but a little heavy. Lots of grilled onions and peppers and loads of sauce that may have been a little too much. It would have been equally as good with about half of the amount of stuff… maybe even better.
