The wait time is ridiculous. I had to cut the pancakes with a knife. Grits had no flavor

We go here often. Love the food and the atmosphere. Normally these and the service level are exemplary. Not today. Our waitress was blasé at best and the food was overcooked. So why the 4 stars? Because the manager saved it. We spoke to her and she offered to replace the meal. We told her it was overdone but it was still good and we had no problem paying for it. It was more the service by the waitress who even forgot part of the meal and was surprised when we asked her where it was. More than that she also didn’t really care much. She seemed in a bad mood. We were going to check out and the manager comped the meal. We were surprised. Maybe a discount but a comp? Thank you so much. How incredibly nice. I don’t remember the managers name bit she truly saved the experience by showing genuine concern.

Not too much to say here. It’s Cracker Barrel after all. I had an enjoyable breakfast. My hubby had the chicken and dumplings which he really likes but I find it very bland. This particular location was really crowded when we went but it was New Years day. They told us the wait time was fifteen minutes, it was more like 35. However, I think the staff at Cracker Barrel really does aim to please and cares about the customers. The food is always consistent which is about as much as you can expect from any chain.

We went for New Years breakfast so of course they were packed and a little short-staffed but the food was delicious. I always love their biscuits and Dickenson’s jelly. Strawberry is the best! My egg over easy was perfect. Very nice waitress. My husband cleaned his plate of 3 pancakes, scrambled eggs, regular bacon, turkey bacon, and turkey sausage.

Stopped in for breakfast on my way back to Nashville. Had Tawanda S. for my so called server. After waiting 20 minutes she decides to greet my table. She takes our drink order then stops by another table to take their drinks and food. It took and hour and a half before we able to eat our food and get back on the road. They were out of orange juice and strawberry jam. My food was covered with hash browns yet I didn’t order hash browns. Really gross. Take my advice and don’t stop at this Cracker Barrel.

Love me some pancakes and bacon anytime of the day. It’s a chain but for breakfast it’s off the chain. Great service usually. Gotta keep the wife out of the store though.

I have eaten here twice and this time the wait staff was great My problem is that they allowed a customer to bring in a dog in a carryall. It was totally out of line and as the dog scratched himself i nearly gagged. Thanks cracker barrell for allowing dogs in your eatery

This is a basic staple in southern hang over food. nothing to write home about. One step up from the waffle house. But really is makes me miss Denny’s.(ugh I cannot believe I miss Denny’s) They have a lovely area to spend all your cash on AWESOME trinkets before you ever get to your table. The long waits on weekend mornings are not too bad as long as there are available rocking chairs.

Its a Cracker Barrel like all the rest in the chain. I like the apple dumpling dessert but the vegetables really need to be cooked in a different way. They are really slack about bringing cornbread and biscuits unless you demand them. The service can sometimes leave a lot to be desired here and seems disorganized at times. I’ve been to worse and I’ve been to better locations of this chain.

Good for breakfast and brunch options. Quick and friendly service. Good for families and large groups.

Cracker Barrel is just your basic standard country cooking, and SHOULD, in theory, be all good, but this one is not. The last few times I’ve gone here, it’s been around brunch or so and each time, instead of getting french toast or pancakes(almost impossible to mess up), I opted for some lunch entrée instead. The last time? HELLNO. We went there wanting pancakes, but got there RIGHT as they were about so serve lunch and me and my lady friend both got fried catfish instead. Catfish? More like… fried cardboard. Bland as hell. The sides I got were not even worth remembering, because I only remember the buttered corn; or more accurately, the bowl of melted butter half filled with corn kernels. I remember thinking that I could’ve gotten better fried fish at a Brother’s Gas station! And for less dough!!! Service was S L O W W W W W… SLOW. I realize there are a bunch of people that like to crowd every Cracker Barrel for their mediocre food and they all need something as soon as possible, but damn. The time before that, I think I got a pot roast or something. Coulda gone to the grocery and got a Marie Colander’s pot pie and enjoyed that better. I’ll stick to the breakfast. It’s hard to mess up stuff like pancakes, french toast, sausage and bacon. BUT… I’m sure this Cracker Barrel will find a way.

Had breakfast there yesterday, it was terrible! The food was cold and the coffee weak. This is the second time the food was substandard. Will not go there again.

Stopped in for dinner and have to give them 5 stars for the service and the food. Jennifer was our server and she was fantastic! I had the roast beef cooked pot roast style with fried okra, fried apples and turnips. Angie had the chicken fried steak with white gravy. After eating we did a bit of shopping and all of the staff and especially the manager were very helpful and cordial. Definitely recommend a stop there if you want good food and good service.

Water is gross. Lol. I’m not from here but it’s from the tap and it tastes it. The food was over cooked. Tasted tough and dry. I had the chicken fried steak. My mom had grilled cat fish. Everything was bland. No season. The one in Arlington TX is great. Maybe they’re more hit and miss idk.

This use to be one of my favorite places. The food was always consistent, staff was friendly, and we loved to browse the gift shop. Last experience was horrible. Entering — Had to excuse myself to get pass manager & employees blocking gift shop. 1st sales lady very nice, helpful. Decided to eat first then shop. Meal — 3 broken pieces of dumplings &2 small, questionable tasting pieces of chicken. When I told our server(new), she came back saying manager said I could order something else. He didn’t bother to come to the table. No apology. Replacement hamburger steak was unseasoned, no gravy, sitting in a pool of grease. Ate two bites. Yuck.(Yes, I paid full price.) Gift shop part two — asked about price of an unmarked item & directed to % OFF sign above rack. Pointed out items not marked with original price, employee took item to back room, disappearing for 10 minutes. Well it may have been longer, but I left hungry, frustrated & angry. FYI — I did go to their website and commented. Tired paying for bad service.

I had to drive to Slidell tonight and of course it was pouring rain. To my delight the location I was headed happened to be near Cracker Barrel, so of course I had to stop in. It’s a nice place to be on a rainy night. There are lots of treats and trinkets to look at in the market. I was so happy to be out of the rain, and I was taking pictures all over the market so the clerk asked if I needed help. I explained I was happy to be out of the rain and there is no Cracker Barrel near my house so I was excited to be able to browse the store. In my browsing I came across the most wonderful item, Lemon Coolers!!! Those are the best cookies, and I can’t ever find them in any store. That alone made my night, I am easily pleased if you can’t tell. I was so delighted when I sat down for dinner. Of course I had to order the pancakes because they are consistently the best, and my waitress was delightful and so was the hostess. Even in the bad weather it’s always nice to go to Cracker Barrel where everyone is nice and happy to help. I don’t get to go often, but I’ll be back epically because of the great service!

No. The only thing I *sort of* like about Cracker Barrel is the little store in the restaurant. I like that old time candy and those old time games and all the great Christmas ornaments they put on the pretty Christmas trees at Christmas time in there. Heck, I even like those rocking chairs out in the front of the store. But the food in the restaurant? No. It’s boring, bland and often over or(even worse) undercooked. Cracker Barrel reminds me of Piccadilly, but if I’m being honest… I like Piccadilly better(for the record I’m no fan of Piccadilly).

I love Cracker Barrels, and when traveling, I look for them, since I know that I can count on good food, good service, and a clean, inviting restaurant. And this one didn’t let me down. They have a new berry pancake breakfast that includes blueberry pancakes topped with blackberries and raspberry syrup. They were so good! I’ve learned to ask for my bacon extra crispy since it comes pretty soggy if I don’t ask.

Cracker Barrel. Just the name conjures up driving vacations in years gone past. Nice thing about the restaurant chain, you know what you are going to get any time you stop at one nationwide. Decent food and clean restrooms. The Cracker Barrel in Slidell is no exception(most of the time). I get to this one once or twice a year. The last time I was there, I ordered the chicken fried steak dinner.(Is there any better way to eat a cheap piece of meat then to pound it flat, bread it, and throw in the deep fryer?) The waitress came back and said our orders were almost ready but they had just run out of the white gravy; would I want to wait for them to make some more white gravy or would I like brown? I said OK, brown rather than wait, I was hungry. As I discovered, a mistake. The brown gravy dulled the chicken fried steak experience. It has to be the pepper in the white gravy. I should have changed my order when offered the chance. Considering the number of times I’ve eaten at Cracker Barrels over the years, one bad experience isn’t too bad. I won’t complain. I could have ordered my second favorite dinner, the Chef’s salad. Like all Cracker Barrels I’ve ever seen, this one is near the intersection of two Interstates, with easy on and off access and plenty of parking.
