Went for my first time for dinner with a friend and was not impressed with the menu. Neither of us like fried food in our sushi, and that left us with only about a fifth of the menu of choose from. From the reviews it seems like we should have sat at the sushi bar, but it was full. The sushi we did order was pretty good but not spectacular.

Great sushi, and I do mean GREAT! I tried the Volcano Roll and the Absolute Roll… amazing! Good little spice kick to some of these rolls, though. The spicy mayo is truly… you guessed it… SPICY.

Visited tonight, Saturday, for dinner. Very slow service. Appetizers were fairly good(calamari, tofu, and crab) Below average entrees.

Fantastic lunch menu. Soup, salad, and two choices of small plates for around $ 10. High quality and made with love. I have not varied from my original order — so I get the sushi jalapeño roll and chicken cutlet. Lots of food and really well done. I need to try some other items but that goes against my self imposed dining rules.

Since I live right down the street, I come here a lot. The sushi is always great, right along with the service. The sushi chefs are very engaging, and I haven’t had a bad roll yet. Highly recommended.

The food was fantastic! But I’ll never eat there again. We made a lunch reservation to celebrate a friend’s wedding. The service was so slow we got our soup after waiting over 45 minutes. But didn’t even get that until someone in our party inqured if the waitress had forgotten us. To which the owner replied that next time we shouldn’t have all come in one group(11). REALLY!!! They weren’t packed and most places could easily handle a party that size. Salads came out after most of us already had our meal. So regardless of the convenience in location I’ll take my business back to Orient Expess in Vinings.

This place has one of the largest sushi menu’s I’ve ever seen. It is huge! Very small place, but we were able to be sat right away. The open ceilings make the noise travel/echo. It was EXTREMELY loud inside. Prices were very reasonable and a seaweed salad is included with your meal.

Chef Don has such a sense of humor and makes the best sushi. Try the Sea Volcano. Don and his older brother are handsome too.

Been craving sushi and it hit the spot. Volcano roll was great. The room was a little sterile. Next time I’ll try sitting next to the bar in a more ‘loungy” area. Other than that no complaints.

This is consistently our go-to spot for sushi in Atlanta. Don and Keith are both excellent sushi chefs: talent + personality. Look at the daily specials for yummy treats like Pork(Buta) no Kakuni(slow braised pork) and Aji(mackerel served three ways). This is a family owned/mom & pop shop, so when it’s busy the service gets harried. But the sushi, sashimi, specials, and rolls are worth going back time and time again.

Sushinobo is pretty good but definitely has some issues. I’ve gone for take out a couple of times and I’ll probably keep going for that only. Parking is easy and the place seems clean. I like the sushi lunch combo– two rolls, miso soup and a salad for $ 10.60 after tax. The catch– the soup and salad are miniature. The salad is the classic iceberg lettuce with ginger dressing. Their ginger dressing is not good, and really the salad is sad looking. The first time I got the miso soup, which tastes good, I was given maybe half a bowl’s worth. The next time I asked them for more and they came through, no hassles. If I were them I would consider doing what most places do and give you a choice of one, and focus on making that one substantial– or are people really fooled by getting TWO sides? The most important part– the sushi! It’s pretty good. The fish I’ve had has been fresh, the rolls sizable but not overwhelmed by rice. That is enough to keep me ordering lunch from them. I’d be hesitant to eat there on your lunch break. They only have one waitress running around tending to customers and to go orders.

This is probably my favorite sushi restaurant in Atlanta. The restaurant is close to my office so I have been several times for both lunch and for dinner. By far my favorite roll is the jalapeño roll and I’m a huge fan of the tuna tartare. They offer great, reasonably priced lunch specials and the service is pretty good.

It has been over a year since the last time I had sushi. This is mostly because I’m really strict about the raw fish that I consume. I need to be assured it is fresh and I will not die from it. I had only ONE place in Illinois I use to go to, otherwise I would not eat sushi. One Friday I could not take it anymore, and decided we should try Sushinobo to satisfy my craving. We made our way over to Sushinobo and it was not busy at the time. We were promptly seated, and we waited, and waited, and waited. Finally someone came over and took our drink order after about 20 minutes. Of course we had time to figure out what we wanted, so we started our sushi journey with a Volcano roll and the Monster roll. At this point we are starving, but we hold off on ordering another roll just in case it will be enough. This was a big mistake since it took them about 40 minutes to make 2 sushi rolls, and again, not busy. When we did receive our sushi rolls they were fresh, delicious, and exactly what the Doctor ordered. The problem was I wanted more. Naturally, it took longer than should ever be acceptable for our waitress to come check up on us. We ordered a Rainbow roll. Still even after already ordering 2 other rolls, it took too long. What I did notice is that if you are siting at the sushi bar, they definitely turn around your food twice as quick. I genuinely enjoyed the Sushi at Sushinobo, but I was incredibly disappointed in their service. I’m just happy that I live in Vinings so I can order sushi to go, because it make just be quicker than dining in.

Great for lunch. Always good food, fresh and prepared with care, from the miso soup to the sashimi. The lunch noodle bowls are AMAZING value, $ 8, and easily enough for two. Very nice people. This place is a real find. Deserves a try for sure! Two minor problems: tucked away /hard to find, and the interior could be ‘warmer’. A bit hipster-sterile. These guys deserve way more attention than they get. You will not be disappointed.

Had a bit of a family reunion here a few nights ago. Sushinobo is located in West Village, a nice little walk-around area in Atlanta. The good: — Everyone at the table liked the wakame salad you get as soon as you’re seated. It was fresh and crisp and very, very good. — I *really* liked the volcano roll. This isn’t the most obvious comparison, but to me it tasted like Peruvian ‘aji de gallina’ made into sushi. I kept sneaking bites at this, and I ate way more than my fair share. The not-so-good: — The décor isn’t killer. Sushinobo isn’t really all that inviting from the outside, either. In an area with so many nicer-looking options, you really have to be set on sushi(as my party was) to not walk right past. — The prices didn’t really seem to match the frugal décor. It wasn’t expensive per se, but I shied away from adding a beer or sake to my meal after a glance at the menu. When I asked about drink specials, I was told that there aren’t any. I… I love drink specials. Anyway. — Our server was stretched between a few tables, and she didn’t really offer super personalized service. My water was refilled and my plates were taken away, but it felt… hollow, I don’t know. — All of two days later, I can’t really remember the other two rolls I tried. One was, as other reviews note, kind of bland. The other was there, too. — A little bowl of miso soup was three dollars. Conclusion: If you know what you like and you’re coming for the food, rock on. We tried a fairly healthy variety of things, and I just wasn’t overly impressed. I expected a level of service(or yummy, or fun!) commensurate with the prices, and I didn’t get that.

There are a handful of restaurants in my vicinity that make me wonder«Why haven’t I come here before?» This is definitely the case with Sushinobo. I can’t speak to the service as so far I’ve only had take-out from here. From the outside this place always looks closed. I guess this has to do with the darker interior, but for the last 2 years I’ve driven by here, I thought it’s gone out of business. Far from it… Tonight, I had the Hot Dog Roll, which was absolutely fantastic and an oldie-but-goodie a Philadelphia Roll(can’t really get that wrong). I really liked the selection at Sushinobo and the large variety of both cooked and raw sushi. Personally, I’m not a fan of tempura-everything and there seem to be a slew of «sushi» restaurants that serve hardly anything but tempura fried sushi. While I got two«cooked» rolls today, next time I’m going to be a bit more adventurous. I thoroughly enjoy that I have a very decent and moderately priced sushi restaurant in my complex.

Sushinobo looks like a trendy sushi restaurant inside of Smyrna West Village. They offer a ton of variety of sushi rolls and a few appetizers. Sushinobo is owned by a husband and wife team. The husband, the sushi chef, is Japanese while the wife is Chinese. They used to own Mt. Fuji in Marietta. On the tables, they had tablecloths. And on top of the tablecloths was paper. I guess they do this so they don’t have to wash the tablecloths. But they still want the fanciness of tablecloths on tables. Why even have tablecloths at all? The paper is fine enough. When you walk in, they give you some wakame salad. I liked that. Their wakame salad tasted good. So I got the Chirashi and some nigiri. The chirashi came with complementary miso and salad. The miso seemed like your standard miso. The salad was soggy and gross. I just don’t understand Japanese places that serve salad. They rarely do it right. It’s frozen, not fresh, and/or soggy. I’m not a fan of ginger dressing either. But since everyone does it, I guess people love this junk. Inside the Chirashi comes with crab meat, salmon, mackerel, octopus, shrimp, spicy tuna, squid, egg, tuna, white fish, white tuna, yellow tail, and shiso leaf. It tasted okay. I felt the sashimi was cut too wide. I needed several bites to eat it. I guess that’s better than cutting it too thick like Minato. But I felt they should’ve just cut the sashimi in half and give 2 pieces instead of 1 big piece. The chirashi looked like a huge dish. They used a bigger bowl than the other places. But it’s the same amount of fish with a ton more rice. So don’t let the size fool you. I mean, if you like rice, I guess you’ll like this chirashi. Their sushi is fine. It’s fresh and tasty. But it in the end, it’s just another average sushi restaurant in Atlanta area. So far, nothing stood out to give it 4 stars. I had more complaints than compliments about this place. However, I should come back and try their rolls.
