Starbucks

Located on Lomas Santa Fe Drive (exit 37 on the 5), in the Dixieline shopping center (CVS, Jamba Juice etc), it’s right next door to Jamba Juice, which was perfect, as I had birthday freebies to claim at both locations.
This Starbucks is one of the biggest locations I’ve seen. Plenty of tables/​seating. Very friendly and attentive service.
My birthday freebie was for a food or beverage of my choice, so I got a thai chicken wrap $ 5.99– all free. Thanks, Starbucks!

I love dropping by this Starbucks when I’m running work errands in Solana Beach. I’ve only been here a couple times, but I’ve always had a great and quick experience here. Katie rang me up yesterday and a guy (didnt get his name) made my drink (smores frappuccino, so yummy!). Both of them were not only friendly, but just had a really cheerful and energetic vibe to them. This starbucks is very spacious and clean. Love this one (:

Service here is really slow. It’s not a busy day but I took 10 minutes to get my ice white mocha.

Stopped in for my usual afternoon latte, drink was made well and tasted nice, not burnt which is a plus. Friendly staff and helpful also.

Very friendly and diligent staff! I stop here before work sometimes and I’m always in and out within 5 minutes or less, even in the busy mornings. And my iced passion tea is always made perfectly!

This Starbucks is awesome — it runs like a well oiled machine! I read the previous reviews and am shocked that people would say such negative things about such a great place. I am always greeted nicely, and receive what I ordered. It is a busy Starbucks, and there is usually a line in the morning. I want to add that I think Michelle is a fabulous employee — always kind and pleasant, and treats everyone with respect and politeness. She is really fast at making drinks and is always cleaning up. I don’t know how she stays nice when it is so busy in there! The other people seem to rotate in and out but she is usually always there. They keep remodeling this Starbucks to make it hold more people and make the employees area larger. The only thing that would help is to have more people making drinks in the morning. There is another Starbucks on the other side of the freeway that is smaller and less crowded.

Spiced flat whites are pretty good. But review is for Scott, who was fantastic and the baristas who made their first spiced flat whites today. Thanks! It’s delicious!
Note: someday, they will have a liquor license to serve wine, and hopefully, Irish coffee.

Has great service. Always a blast on my way to the coffee shop. Usually I prefer teas but when I decided to go outside my circle of safety I tried the frap’s and coffees and treats wow was I amazed. Reasoning of price was the only default, has a bit of a pricey side but still is yummy for what you get but some people wish for a more satisfying amount for the price you pay

I absolutely love this location always supper friendly staff, it’s always supper clean, and always supper busy, but your drinks are made supper quickly as well. (:

Took forever to get an iced tea with 5 employees working and only 3 customers in front of me. They were too busy planning their get together and trying one another’s root beer drink and taking espresso shots. Please get your staff together and put the customers first. Very unprofessional atmosphere.

Every single time I enter this Starbucks, I am always warmly greeted by multiple baristas. I love the new look ! its very spacious, i can usually find a seat. I especially like the vibe of their outdoor section.
I’m very inconsistent with my coffee drinks and like different things on different days. This usually annoys other Starbucks because I ask alot of questions about what everything taste like, but my last experience here was with a Barista named Liz. She was very patient with me and explained very well what something new on their menu was like. I very much felt welcomed and not a pest. Thats what i’m going for in my Starbucks!
Also, they have never messed up an order of mine here, while at the one closer to my house (this is closer to my work) its literally ⁵⁰⁄₅₀.
I appreciate them!

I stopped here because I knew it was really close to the freeway I was trying to not fall asleep on… I was on my way to a job site and was in a huge hurry so instead of my normal extremely complicated iced coffee cocktail. I thought an iced Americano ought to be quick!
I walked in and it was weird from the get go. not busy at all, but a lot of employees talking to each other and moving in slow motion.
I ordered my drink thinking, it’s just espresso and water.
A few minutes go by and nothing is coming out… there are two women waiting ahead of me, one looked like she had been there for quite awhile already and the other was pregnant, looking at the baristas, she was wondering where her other drink was… we both looked at each other, like «what the heck is happening?»
I watched as «KT» moved like molasses, sooo slow… no sense of urgency, chatting with another employee while he wiped the same spot on the counter for five minutes. seriously, why was she the only one making drinks??? I never, EVER, ask about my order, and when I did, she snapped «it’s coming» and then I watched her grab a cup with espresso, add ice and water. When she put the drink 2 inches away from me, with no eye contact, smile, or acknowledgment of my existence, she yelled as if she had no idea it was my drink «ICED AMERICANO!» Um… I’m still standing right here…
Worst starbucks ever. I waited over 10 minutes for the most simple thing when there was no one there. I watched as the line grew and grew and boy, did I feel bad for all those behind me… KT, the wonder slug, needed back up.

I’m always reminded that I have a Starbucks addiction when all of the baristas know my order as soon as I walk in! The staff here are very friendly and fun. The interior looks wonderful and modern since the recent remodel. Usually busy, but there’s a good amount of seating inside and out.

I WANT A NOOO STAR selection!!! Walked in wasn’t acknowledged no other customers in sight. Ashley finally said hi after about 45 seconds. She passed by us and was wiping down equipment. When she passed by again, I asked are you still open and her reply was, «our doors wouldn’t be unlocked if we were closed.» Seriously? Nice customer service missy, you have a positive attitude. When I placed my order, I said no whip. Left, got into vehicle and low and behold… whipped cream! Went back inside and said, I specifically said no whipped cream. She said she didn’t hear. I told her I think she did hear, but because I asked her about being open, did it intentionally. She said she was busy, apologized and said it wasn’t that. I then said, you had no one in here, how can you say you’re busy? Every Starbucks I’ve been to, has always acknowledged their customers and when it’s «busy» say they’ll be right with you. I know this for a fact because I drink my share of coffee and tea. I’ve been a gold member since 2009. I ended with she is very unprofessional and what she did was UNACCEPTABLE!!!
P. S. I’m a tipper, but for the first time… didn’t. That upset me as well.

Pros: nice big interior with usually plenty of seating, friendly baristas as usual, great outdoor seating space, close to Sprouts and other food
Cons: the WiFi is TERRIBLE — slow as snot. This place needs Google WiFi ASAP

Starbucks has gotten pretty good at being ‘standardized’ across the board, so it takes a lot for a location to stand out for me.
I travel a LOT and work from home (ie, in coffee shops) — and this is by far the worst Starbucks I have ever been to. Ever.
I’ve been here 10+ times (when we lived nearby), and not once did the baristas get my order correct. Not only that, but they’ve been incredibly rude when I have deigned to request my drink be made properly. They also charge you for a splash of soy milk on top of your drip coffee (which no other locations do– they only have ever charged me for soy on an espresso drink — which makes sense since it is basically a whole cup filled with milk). Never once has there even been so much as a ‘oops! Sorry we made that incorrectly, we’ll remake that for you’. Your request will only be met with disgust.
On top of the fact that you’re unlikely to get your drink made correctly, be prepared to wait. Basically forever. I have no idea how it takes the baristas at this location so much longer to make your drink than in other Starbucks, but it does. On more than one occasion I have waited over 20 minutes for a drink, when there were only 3 – 4 drinks ahead of mine in the line.
I imagine this has something to do with the fact that the baristas are super chatty with one another — I’ve overheard totally inappropriate conversations between baristas while they’re ‘working’. On multiple occasions I’ve seen the staff drop both cups and blender containers on the floor and then not wash them before making a drink (or toss and give a new, fresh cup). Gross!
While the location is good and they have a lot of seating, this doesn’t come close to making up for the rude, slow, and incompetent staff. Wifi is usually so slow it is barely usable. Starbucks should be ashamed of this location — seems like it is time for a better manager in here.

While waiting for a friend to get to Solana Beach train station, I stopped by this Starbucks and I was happy to see that there were a lot of seating, both indoor and outdoor. The baristas were all very friendly and nice with smiles on their face! It made the experience very pleasant! The only thing I thought they could’ve improved was to ask for customers’ name so they can put it on the food order. I ordered a sausage breakfast sandwich and wasn’t sure if it was mine to take since there were few people waiting in line for coffee/​food.

Large location! Lots of seating available inside and out! Clean facilties. Staff is nice and helpful. Got my first pumpkin spice latte of the season and it was made perfectly! Thus Starbucks stands out from the others! Located right off the freeway.

Friendly Baristas and they remembered my drink the second time I went back.

Store is spacious and atmosphere is great, but avoid this place if you are in any kind of rush. I’ve been there about six times and there has always been a long line and wait. Also, the other day I bought a coffee and breakfast sandwich and my purchases never showed up on my starbucks rewards. :((
Wish there was a Starbucks on Via de la Valle! More Starbucks are needed in Solana Beach!
