This was my second time here. It’s a good steak house but not Mortons or Ruths Chris. I had the filet mingnon and the server asked if I wanted the prime cut I said yes because I knew it would be a few bucks more, She failed to inform me it’s an $ 18 upsell. Way to try & pad your tip Sandy. It was a good cut of meat but for some reason it was swimming in Teriyaki sauce. Since I was now paying $ 55 for this 60z. filet, let’s not kill the taste with some crappy sauce. When a server pulls something like that, it comes out of her tip. I normally tip 50% and because other than that deception she got 18%, which was more than she deserved not because of service, because of dishonesty.

Have fun with this taste of Texas in Sonoma. Put on a pair of cowboy boots and get ready to … relax and take your boots off. The food is excellent, the décor upscale and the atmosphere is comfortable. The service here will make you feel like you’ve done everything right to get here. The steaks and the fish are prepared classically, and done the right way. There is a right and wrong. Right is starting with the best, most fresh and as local as possible ingredients. Be prepared to bring a big appetite. The plates aren’t as big as the state of Texas, but they’ll fill your boots just the same.

My family and I came here for my birthday and it was fabulous. The ambience was upscale and relaxed and our waitress Sandy was the best. She was attentive without being overbearing. The food was excellent as well. I ordered a med-rare filet mignon and it came out more med than rare and Sandy swooped it away and ordered another(perfect) one. She then bought my dessert! All in all it was a great experience, I highly recommend going there and will definitely go again!

except for the B. S. when you check in: [ for example;” let me check with my manager to see what might be available. I don’t know if we have a table”.] Then the manager came acting like this was a major task to seat us. Finally I lose my temper and say«you have twenty tables available whats the problem? We are then seated. Bottom line cut the crap and seat people promptly and don’t act like your doing them a huge favor. We have eaten here many times food is very good and so is the service if you can get to your seat.

Decent steakhouse in Sonoma if your looking for a big steak after a day of drinking wine :). They offer prime rib and bone-in ribeye but make a reservation well in advance since this place is popular.

We were celebrating our anniversary and my husband chose this restaurant, and it was just ok the food was ok the waitress wasn’t very friendly just going through the motions took forever to keep getting water refills. We ordered prime rib which was chewy the crab cakes was ok the stuffed mushrooms were tiny but yummy the liver moose didn’t have much flavor But great presentation. The cornbread was over cooked and dry. I wouldn’t go bad and with all the great food here next time I’m rather just get a picnic basket with local cheeses meats and wine Instead. We tried to go to oso but couldn’t get a reservation.

I stayed in the inn and ate breakfast and lunch here. The breakfast is about average, better than perhaps breakfast at the Hilton but nothing exceptional. For lunch, we had the spicy shrimp salad and the fish tacos. I got about 4 shrimp in my salad, the tacos were dry though the fish was moist and grilled well. In essence, nothing about this restaurant grabbed me, the food met basic standards and was palatable.

The atmosphere is so cute and nice love the saddle seats in the lobby/bar. The food was amazing my favorite was the smoky sea salt they put on the table made the filet taste even more amazing and something I’d never had before. The cheesecake was divine and the service was great attentive friendly and knowledgeable. We will definitely be back

I was battling between three or four stars. To begin the property is really pretty the interior of the restaurant is unique in design. To begin with the food we all participated in restaurant week for Caesar salad’s and one asparagus soup. The Caesar salad was extremely bland lacked any flavor besides The Parmesan barely any dressing and a few croutons off to the side. Asparagus soup was delicious could have used a dollop of sour cream in it. Now for the main dish for steaks and one pasta dish. The steak was really good potatoes were good in the vegetables were cooked just right. The pasta dish had decent flavor but overall was not that good. Took it in a box home. Now for my favorite part desert sadly they only offered one choice apple pie. The pie was served warm and tasted really good topped with vanilla ice scream. Was nice to come try a new place but not sure if I will be back anytime soon for dinner. I might come back to stay at the gorgeous hotel. The service was good and the food came out in good timing!

BEST steak I have had, hands down. Our server was awesome and helped us celebrate our honeymoon! He waived our bottle corkage fee which was awesome because we found the perfect wine to pair with their amazing food. ALSO– THEVEGETABLESARETHEBEST! I even got my husband to eat them! Thanks for making it a special night!

Totally 5 stars. The service, food, décor. Of all the meals I enjoyed during my stay this was my favorite ! It’s a steakhouse and I am a vegetarian, but with all of the fantastic side dishes it turned itself into a more than satisfying dining experience. Each dish I had was excellent. Salads were fresh with the best dressing ! I loved the décor and the saddles you can sit on or just look at in the lounge area. Very good service without being smothered. I would suggest reservations as they do get a good crowd from people staying in the hotel surrounding area. If you visit Sonoma make it a point to at least checking out the cool bar or having a meal . You can dress up for come on in wearing your cowboy boots like I did! Fun place! Easy parking too.

I started with a chopped iceberg lettuce salad with kale, bacon, tomatoes, and a soft boiled egg all topped with a blue cheese dressing. If you put blue cheese on anything I’ll be a fan. So. yeah… I liked it. I had a very good flat iron steak with a baked potato on the side. Simple caveman fare. It was all very good — as was the service. If I’m back this way I’ll go back.

This casual gem of a steakhouse set in the business district of Downtown Sonoma is just flat out good. The menu is bare basic steakhouse cuisine with no Fru Fru celebrity chef flare or ego. The salads are cold and crisp, the appetizers are thoughtfully prepared; like their version of shrimp cocktail and the steaks are cooked the exact way you ordered it and are kicking with flavor. The bar pours generously and the staff(all inclusive) are knowledgeable, nice and professional. As I’m writing this review I’m racking my brain to think of something negative — I cannot. The California wine country has a bevy of Michelin rated restaurants along with chi chi expensive establishments that set a very high bar in fine dining and wine pairing. The Saddle Steakhouse is a welcomed spot for any hungry soul who just wants a down home VERY good dinner.

Pros — we had a very nice waiter who was attentive and also engaging with our son– excellent customer service from he other staff we encountered — beautiful presentation — solid steakhouse food, LOVE the extras for the baked potatoes(a nice side of bacon– who doesn’t love bacon?! And the smoked salt was yummy!) memorable dishes– if you are looking for something«off the square» this is a lovely choice — my son loved the saddles in the waiting area and it was cute décor Con — not really a «con» but can’t decide if this is supposed to be upscale or not? Got a weird vibe like the restaurant wasn’t sure either. I liked the waiting/bar area décor but then the main dining room was über fancy with weird painted horses on the walls. The waiter and buss boys were dressed in formal attire but then the hostess had cowboy boots and a sundress on. Just a bit miss matched. Pick one or the other I think(I think you should be a touch more casual but that’s just me).

During our stay at MacArthur Palace, we made dinner reservations at Saddles Steakhouse. We were greeted courteously when we arrived and since we had reservations, we got seated immediately in the veranda dining area. I enjoyed the ambiance — classy and romantic. After scrambling through the menu, our choice was: — Crab cakes for appetizers — Filet Mignon — Lady Godiva cocktail While waiting for the food, we were served complimentary home made bread, with a side of soft butter, roasted red bell pepper paste and olives. The bread was fabulous — warm and soft. Just melts in your mouth and just the way I love my bread. The thought of throwing in a sprinkle of sea salt on the bread was a smart idea. While we devoured the bread, our appetizers arrived. A crab cake served on a bed of avocados, and a side of veggies. Delicious. Highly recommend this dish. Then our entrees arrived, served with a generous portion of mashed potatoes. The steak was very well cooked and I enjoyed the sauce and the sauteed mushrooms. Al though we wanted to eat dessert, there was absolutely no room in our stomachs. And also because my cocktail was really a dessert cocktail. Service is fantastic. Great food, al though I’d like for them to go more creative on the entrees. Highly recommend if you are looking for a good steakhouse in Sonoma.

I brought my husband here for our first night in Sonoma. It seemed like a nice place to eat by the pictures and price point. The service here was great, no doubt about that. But considering how much the food costs I felt like I completely wasted my money. The quality just was not there. Maybe because compared to other«steakhouses» like Mastro’s the quality doesn’t justify the price. To start I ordered a martini which had pineapple juice and cranberry… I didn’t like it but I drank it. At over $ 10 for one drink the portion was tiny!(At Mastro’s they make you your drink in a shaker & give you the whole darn shaker to keep refilling. And the drinks are strong! For dinner we ordered the pork chop, the beet salad and Mac and cheese. For dessert we had the s’more panna cotta. The salad was… Interesting. It was beautifully plated but the mangos and beets had the oddest tanginess. It was like the fruits weren’t fresh and tasted like they had been tossed in some kind of citrus to help them keep… Not good. The Mac and cheese was awesome, but not the best I’ve ever had. The pork chop was ok. It came with puréed potatoes and veggies… The veggies tasted like they were frozen… The potatoes tasted like they came out of a box and they were really salty and … Just tasted gross. The chop itself was not bad it was pretty good but not the best I’ve had and certainly not worth $ 30-something. The dessert looked great but… The panna cotta was virtually flavor-less. The«s’more» was good… two home made biscuits with chocolate ganache in the middle. The chocolate ice cream was also good… Not the best dessert I’ve had for over $ 10. An overview: service is phenomenal… But completely not worth the money. A huge disappointment compared to Mastro’s, which is no more than a dollar or two extra for the same kind of food. I apologized to my husband for taking him to this place.

We were recommended to go here after visiting the Ravenswood winery and I am SO happy they referred us. The food was amazing and the staff were phenomenal. I got the Salmon and my boyfriend got the filet and both were outstanding. We also got the loaded potatoes as an appetizers which were excellent. An upscale but relaxed atmosphere, everyone welcoming and nice, we will most definitely be returning.
