This place is TERRIBLE. The barista screwed up 4 out of 5 drinks even after we asked them to be corrected. A 2nd barista came in to help and was rude, looked like harry potter. Threw our last drink across the counter, disrespectful. I will never come to this place again. I asked for the free drink coupons that other places offer if customers arent 100% satisfied, harry potter said they dont have those. What a waste of time. And money.

I was in with my friend yesterday, witnessed one of the most rude staff members– name was Sherry. She blocked off the entrance from the mall at 5:10 with garbage cans– the storefront closes at 6… when people kept trying to come in she would roll her eyes and point outside, indicating to come through the other door. She kept muttering under her breath she wished people would leave and that they were closing soon.(You have 50 minutes… chill!) She was sweeping around people, not even bothering to be polite or say excuse me. I guess the bathrooms were off limits too– when a couple of customers went in– she started banging the doors with her broom stick end and told them the bathrooms were unavailable and to go in the mall ones… I get closing duties can be strenuous and time consuming– but there is no need to be rude to your customers. She jumped behind the counter to help the sole barista and cashier– I overheard a customer ask for an iced coffee– her reply was«we are completely out– just like our brains!» Really? I love my occasional coffee indulgence from Starbucks– and my order was correct and tasted great– but I will not be returning if I see her again. Too much negativity!

RUDESTAFF DISGUSTINGBATHROOM I came here while on a break and ordered my coffee and a pastry. The first person I came in contact with was super sweet. She saved this review 1 star. So I walk into the bathroom and the first thing I thought was that it looked like some kind of prison bathroom. It was super dirty and the floor was wet. But I had to go BAD so I just dealt with it. Come to find out there was no tissue. So I used some toilet seat covers and got out of there. I walk up to this short little female with the short haircut who had her head down and was doing paperwork(bc there was a long line and I didn’t want to cut) and I say«hi»…she sllooowwllllyy looks up at me with this BITCHYASSED look on her face like WHYAREYOUBOTHERINGME… I ignore it and I let her know the women’s restroom is out of tissue. She immediately changes her attitude and is like OK… thanks for letting us know! — –_– B — - please! RUDE

I asked for the code to use the restroom and was quizzed as to whether or not I was a customer by a very passive aggressive employee named Marie. An odd encounter, almost like a SNL skit with a very rude/overly«sweet» character. Never been treated like this at a Starbucks before. Maybe she was just having a bad day…

I used to go here all of the time on my way to work. No longer a fan of this location. seems very chaotic employee wise. Never the same people working and some are very rude. It started changing for the worse at the beginning of the year.

Several car clubs from the area meet here every Saturday, from 7:30−9am, with anywhere between 20 – 100 local cars attending. At that time, this Starbucks can get very busy. The staff is great(never seen them rude or angry) and handles the crowd with ease but they occasionally get backed up and some breakfast food items can run out quickly. If you need a quick coffee on Saturday morning, head to a different Starbucks. If you have the time on Saturday morning, and like cars(from a 1909 Horseless Carriage to a brand new Lamborghini Aventador), this is the only Starbucks for you. I’ve also frequented this Starbucks many times during the weekday mornings and still found the staff(never seen them rude or angry) and service great. Line moves fairly quickly and they were rarely backed up or out of any breakfast food items. Easy to grab a quick drink and head to work.

Had to bare witness to the absolutely HORRENDOUS treatment of a trans female customer who came in seeking a job application. The world could see your ugly faces, even if she couldn’t see you when she turned her back to leave, you pigs. You ought to be ashamed of your intolerance. PS: You weren’t any better looking BEFORE you made the faces.

Clean location and super friendly staff. Much more roomy vs Capitola Mall location.

The location was by no means packed, but still was noisy inside. The barristas moved quickly but there was still a pile up waiting for the drinks. The patio looks like no one has attended to it in quite a while, with crumbs and dried(and not so dried) spilled drinks all over the tables. The cashier was friendly though.

My first visit here was fun, but this last time I was there it was really busy, long line both to order and waiting for my order. The folks at the cash register were very sweet and playful they seemed happy. The barista’s seemed a little tired or in need a break? But I didn’t hear my name called just saw my cup at will call. My cappuccino was not as good as the first time I came by, but it was passable. I think I’ll give 41st and Soquel ave. Starbucks another try just because I want to like it there. I feel more at home at the Scotts Valley Starbucks but time will tell.

Staff very friendly! You can tell they care about their customers, acknowledging them by their first name, and keeping the shop clean and tidy! If I lived closer this would be my regular place to get my kick-start in the morning!

White girl coffee. Not real coffee at all it’s just full of sugar plus the frapps are basically a dessert not coffee.

The restaurant was clean and everyone was friendly. I stopped off for a quick hot peppermint mocha and noticed there was a car collection event happening in the parking lot. What an added bonus.

Was just in Starbucks waiting for 25 plus minutes for my two drinks. I wanted to purchase a breakfast sandwich, but they had no more sausage sandwiches available today. Strike 1. Ordered my two drinks, waited way longer than normal while the male barista chatted in a persistently prodding way with the couple in line in front of me about getting him(the barista) a job at the marijuana dispensary one member of couple worked at, located across the street from this location. I overheard the barista make a comment to the manager after she said something quietly to him. The barista said to the manager, «I bet you’ll put me back over at the register right away now hahaha» to which the manager replied, «no, I have you right where I need you, but you’ve gotta pick up the pace!» in a cheerful yet serious tone that I recognized immediately, being a manager myself. The manager then gave everyone ahead of me drink tickets; meanwhile, the barista calls out that one of my drinks is ready. I waited over 25 min total. I waited 10 min after receiving my first drink to get the second drink of my order. I did not get offered afternoon drink tickets. I asked the manager why the wait was so long today and she said they were understaffed. Fine, but the barista was rude, unprofessional, and inappropriate. And clearly, I was miffed that everyone else got free drink tickets and I did not. I don’t know what the reasoning was behind that.

I know, I know, there are a MILLION Starbucks in this world. Sometimes they are located across the street from each other. Actually there is a Starbucks in the Safeway located in the same shopping center as this Starbucks. I can tell you that no two Sbux are the same. This is by far the most efficient Sbux I have ever seen with the nicest team members. They create special relationships with frequenting customers and are just as nice to those who stop by while going through town. While Sbux is a corporation which goes against the grain of the Santa Cruz vibe, the team members of this Starbucks make you feel at home. It may be a «Starbucks» on the outside but on the inside, the team mates make it as local as it gets. And when I say they are efficient, I mean they are efficient. This particular Sbux has a classic car meetup that occurs directly outside their front doors every Saturday morning. Sometimes it seems more packed than on a normal weekday morning. These folks are prepared for it. There is always enough staff and the fastest moving line I have seen at a Starbucks. Drinks are served perfectly and on time. And if you don’t like it, they’ll fix it for you promptly. Highly recommend this Starbucks. The team is super awesome!!!

In many ways this is your typical Starbucks. It is one of four on 41st Avenue. It is located across the parking lot from Safeway. It has internet access. The staff is friendly, the early morning customers are mellow, and there is a big parking lot. I found this place while having my car serviced across the way on Soquel Drive. Interesting to note that there is ANOTHER Starbucks inside the Safeway across the parking lot.
