What a great old world public house in South Bend. I have been in England and Germany and this fits the bill. The wild mushroom soup is excellent. The crown and Coke had to much syrup in it. The specials were great got to drink a 200 dollar bottle of wine for 20. The white fish croquettes are absolutely outstanding. Would most definitely recommend coming here. The staff is courteous and friendly and our server Britney was awesome. You should go see her. It was great.

This is THEBEST place for weary travelers. It’s open till midnight, offers great food, and provides a great atmosphere. Also has very interesting appetizers. One thing that I’m not a fan of was the time it took for service. I LOOOOVE this place!

This review below is only about my dining experience here recently. The times I have had drinks here had been exceptional. The Morris Inn did a great job with the ambience and decorations. It is a very classy bar. However… The service was terrible. Getting the waitress to notice us was more difficult than pulling teeth. There was also a special menu at Rohr’s that night they had been advertising, which the waitress had no idea about. The entirety of the dinner took over 2 hours because of the slow service, not by the kitchen but by our waitress. I was not very impressed by the Cheese Board, with just three cheeses(two of which we didn’t even finish), some dried fruit, and bread. The Whiskey Glazed Salmon Sandwich was really good, I have to say. I was deciding between that and the Whiskey Glazed Salmon dish, which the waitress told me had the same sized salmon but is more expensive. It was tender, juicy, and a nice portion. Inspired by the ones at Evil Czech, I substituted truffle fries for the side order for $ 1 extra and was very disappointed with the bland potato wedges; the truffle flavor was barely there. However, my friends were all pretty satisfied with the food they ordered. Hopefully I’ll have a better experience with the service next time.

Fish and Chips. Done deal. And a beer. The fish must have been a wild catch out of God’s pond and looked like fried maple bars from the crispy beer battered excellence. The mashed peas it came with brought me to a place of sheer bliss. This is why they call vegetables«Nature’s Candy». Not only do I not attend Notre Dame, I’m not even sure of the correct pronunciation. However, when I walked in to Rohr’s and told the bartender«I was told to get the Fish and Chips» he granted my wish like a genie in a lamp. Do it. Do it.

In a nutshell, the service is brutal and prices are high. And I’m pretty sure the place will continue to be packed anyway. I wanted to like this place, I really did. I’ve been there several times over the past 6 weeks(while staying at the Morris Inn for work), and the story is always the same: the staff is slow to respond to me being there, fairly disinterested once they have finally acknowledged my presence, and even slower to bring the food and drinks. It’s a really bad combination. Decent beer list, nice enough selection of TVs, and solid ambience. Still, unless I was staying in the hotel, I wouldn’t consider making a trip to this place…

Sat at the bar for lunch. There were 3 lunch patrons at the bar, yet I had to wait 5 minutes for the bartender to turn around and get me a menu, and another 10 to get his attention to place my order. The lunch orders for all 3 patrons were wrong(I ordered chicken sandwich with fries, got wrap with fries — next guy got wrong sandwich(mine) with correct side, 3rd guy got wrong side), all delivered cold 35 minutes after sitting down. There were only maybe 6 other patrons in the whole place! I switched with the stranger so I could get my chicken sandwich with the highly touted pretzel bun. My «pretzel bun» looked as if they drove a car over it first and tasted worse. Slow service, bad kitchen, bad food. Stick to the beer.

The service is very slow. I was there at 5pm and was seated right away because there was no crowd. It took 30 minutes to get a menu I had to track down a waitress to get it, and she didn’t know who my server would be. I did order a bowl of soup and a drink and it came fairly quickly and it was good. However, when I was done I wanted to leave right away but no one could find my server to get my bill. After at least a 10 minute wait a manager had to ask me what I had eaten, and then she prepared my bill and I got out of there. I won’t be back.

Convenient place for a drink when on the Notre Dame campus. Better atmosphere when it’s not busy. Wait staff are okay, not stellar. This is based on multiple visits not just one.

Just stopped in on my way home. Murph had the Sox-Orioles game on, mDe me an excellent Journeyman Manhattan, and recommended the Lamb Sliders for a light late dinner. They were delicious! Check out this place for lunch too. Lamb lovers will appreciate the Wednesday«Carved Lunch Buffet» of Leg of Lamb. Make a sandwich and add a salad or soup all for only $ 10.00.

Not a place for the hungry. Service took nearly 45 minutes, and portions are child-sized. I wanted to try out the wings, but for $ 11, it seemed unreasonable to order another dish. Well, for $ 11 I got a total of 6 wings, two in each flavor. Easily the most expensive wings I’ve ever had. My favorite were the Buffalo ones, and the other two were uninspiring. Had I known I was only going to get 6 wings, things would have played out VERY differently. I wasn’t about to wait another 45 minutes for some real food, so that was quite disappointing. My wife got the fish of the day(I can’t remember what it was), and was also unimpressed with the portion size, but thought it tasted fine.

Rohr’s is the pub/grill located in the Morris Inn, and I like it. A lot. The drinks are moderately priced, but made flavorful and strong, and the Old Fashioned I ordered was probably one of the best I ever had. Coming from Wisconsin, we’re also pretty picky about our bloodies, and while there wasn’t much of a garnish(seems like a Wisconsin thing), the bloody itself was fantastic! For lunch, I tried the Salmon, and it was great! The glaze was just the right amount of sweet, and it fell apart with just a touch of the fork. The side of potatoes and brussel sprouts were pretty good, however they were placed directly under the salmon, and the plate was bowed towards the center, so all of the butter/oil had soaked into and all over the vegetables, making them a bit heavy for me. If they had plated them on a flat plate, on the side, it would have been perfect. The fries I tried off my friends plate was great as well, and I’d definitely come back for lunch/drinks next time I’m in town.

If I had had more time here, I think I would have raised the star rating but I’m going with what I have. The staff at Rohr’s(and everywhere at Morris Inn) are completely amazing. They are attentive without hovering, and were replacing drinks or bringing boxes before we even needed to ask. The drinks are delicious, strong, and classic. Murph is the locally famous bartender, but I didn’t have a chance to grab his attention for a chat or story. Lunch looked quite good, but I only ordered a soup. I could have eaten that soup all day. Definitely stop in for a drink or quick bite at lunch if you’re on property. At least get a good story out of Murph.

I have been back at least half a dozen times since I wrote the initial review. At this point, I have sampled the majority of items on the menu, including the seasonal dishes. The only item I would not recommend is the pulled pork potato skins. I love pulled pork and potato skins, but the combination just wasn’t for me.

Skip this place if you want good food– the food is almost inedible– if you’re a vegetarian and it’s a football weekend, you’re really out of luck. Chicken wings resembled chicken MacNuggets. But the beer is good …

What a joke. They have a bar, but you can’t sit at it «because it is a home football game.» What? Explain that logic to me? Why on earth would you want patrons of your bar to, uh, actually sit at the bar?

What a fabulous addition to the area! I’ve tried a few of the appetizers, all of which were absolutely delicious! The corned beef sandwich and chicken bacon sandwich with apple butter on a fresh pretzel bun are an absolute delight! With the newly added valet parking and family-friendly dining area it is the new MUSTGOTO place in town!
