Al Tahoe Laundry

Otherwise just a normal laundromat with more than just washers and driers to pump your quarters into (vending machine; pinball). I’m super bummed about the wi-​fi situation though :/.

Attempted to clean some brand new sheets at the laundry mat. All of them came out stained, not sure if it was rust/​burns (on medium heat) or just dirty machines but thanks for letting me leave with dirtier sheets than I arrived with. More frustrating was the lack of personnel or any place to leave complaints about the machines.

As others have noted laundromats aren’t anyone’s favorite place but this one is clean, seemingly well maintained, and offers free wifi. It seems to be usually unstaffed so there is unfortunately nobody here to do full service laundry for you. There are a number of sandwhich and coffee shops in walking distance, so if you have to use a laundromat in south lake tahoe this is a safe bet.

I hate laundry mats and bus stations. That being said this is an okay laundry mat, clean, quiet and easy to use + free wi-​fi

I’ve driven by here a number of times and something special caught my eye!!! Yes it was a pinball machine…
Not just any pin mind you but one that’s just made my «Top 10 List» of pin’s I’d buy:
Medieval MADNESS (see:
) details: $.50 /​game or $ 1.00 for 3 games. It’s in crappy condition — hasn’t been cleaned in about 10 years, the ball gets stuck consistently, and the volume was too low. I’ve never played the title before but it’s fun and even though it was poorly maintained I would love owning one of the other 4016 units that were produced of this title.
The owner/​operator of Al Tahoe Laundry, Joby Cefalu, was there collecting coins out of the washing machines etc and we chatted. He’s super cool and I learned a little bit about the coin-​op laundry business, his Lake Tahoe Fishing Charter: Mile High Fishing Charters (see:
), and that the Medieval Madness wasn’t his and was NOT FOR SALE. =(

Oh by the way, there are 50 well kept and clean machines for your laundering pleasure at Al Tahoe Laundry. It’s a pleasant place to do your cleaning if you must when you are in the South Lake Tahoe area.
