The place is now closed. The food was not good. The service was terrible. The place was very duty inside.

It is simple! It is obvious that it has been sold! Disgusting and everything is put in the microwave, Horrible smell to the joint and everything is greasy. ie tables walls windows. Sorry Burger a Go Go… your not as good as it once was when Tony owned it. BTW…wash your hand after handling money and before you touch food! That alone gave you one star…

This is one of those«Best of Tiimes, Worst of Times» places. Depends what you focus on. Well, don’t go to this place for the atmosphere. Definitely a hole-in-the-wall, somewhat seedy feel, complete with a dusty, quirky, overpriced used book corner. The best part: I had the Western bacon cheeseburger, and it’s the best hamburger I’ve had in the area. Since this is primarily a burger place, I needed to give it at least three stars for this alone. However, the rest of our lunch was disappointing. I came for the shakes, and my chocolate/peanut butter combination was only average. Very thick and only barely sippable through a straw; the chocolate shake is made with chocolate ice cream resulting in a strong, dark chocolate-like taste that overpowered the peanut butter part, and was not to my liking. My wife chose a vanilla/butterscotch combination shake which she didn’t like at all. It was barely sweet and almost impossible to taste the butterscotch. She also had the veggie burger, and that was not the thing to order here; not good. Go for the burgers, but venturing beyond that can be problematic.

Totally gross. I ordered the grilled cheese, and it came on a hamburger bun! Melted American Cheese on a hamburger bun, this is what they are selling as a grilled cheese. I find this highly offensive. No restrooms. They charge for refills. Come on, everyone knows each soda actually costs like .0003 cents. Give me a break on your charging for refills! I hope someone buys this place and makes it not suck. Oh — and, newsflash current owners, there is such a thing as vegetarians in the world now and we love nothing more than to spend money on good food — get with the program.

Don’t judge a burger joint by its cover! Good food, great location! Looks like a dive though. You just have to know that this place is good eats! Try it and you’ll be hooked! We come here every time we are in South Shore! Prices are a bit over priced but I don’t mind because the food is worth it and service is as well. We ordered: the hot dog! They use Caspar’s so you know it will taste great. You dress it yourself. It was longer than the bun and diagonally slit along ‘top’. Cool looking. Double burger, Mom likes it with only tomatoes so that’s how it was served. Again you dress it. Corn dog kids meal w/fries. My son scarfed it down! So it musta been delicious! He ordered another! Fries are not home made but standard none the less. The Bear burger! OHHEAVENLY!!! Its a ¼ patty with lettuce, tomato, bacon, cheddar and ranch dressing topped with 2 fried onion rings! OMG! I wanted it on a wheat bun but they only have white buns, no worries. I was so happy I ordered it! I usually get the Hula burger… delicious in its own right. Strawberry milkshake. One size fits all! Freshly made and thick! It was perfect for the lil man. They have outdoor or indoor seating and a walk up order window. Service is a very down home Tahoe feeling. NORESTROOMS! Place is for sale still.

I have been visiting this place for year(10 – 15 Years) — Every Summer when we are Camping just down the road at Fallen Leaf Campground. Colombo’s is always a treat, From a Greasy Lunch to their huge Variety of Frozen treats. I really enjoy their milkshakes or a dipped cone. Can’t give them 5 Stars because their Ice Cream Prices(Frozen Treats) are kinda high and they seem to take advantage of all the Summer Tourists Crowd… There are lots of better Burger Spots close by, but stop in for a shake and sit in their grassy side yard dinning area.

Had a very tasty burger at Burgers a Go-Go yesterday. After looking at the menu I decided on the Western Burger, a ¼ lb of beef topped with BBQ sauce and onion rings. The burger patty was shaped big-a-round and on the thin side, and cooked to order, the BBQ sauce was good. We also got fries which were just the way I like them, extra crispy, and an order of onion rings which were absolutely excellent.

I hate to do this, but a lower star review is in order. The burgers: Are still pretty dang delicious. No complaints. Period. The milkshakes: See above. The fries: Completely killed lunch for me. They tasted fishy. How do you make fishy tasting fries? By frying your fish and your fries in the same oil, which I believe, is against CA Food Safety Standards. Or worse, reusing old oil for so long it takes on a fishy quality(*shudder*) I hope they were just ignoring the fish/fries standards… Also, I know they’re trying to sell the joint and retire, but something changed recently. I can’t put my finger on what exactly, but you know the difference between dive-y and scary? Yeah. Still, they get mad props for being the only burger joint in town to cater to the burger eaters(the only vegetarian option is grilled cheese, God love ‘em). Maybe things will improve during summer season.
