As far as dessert goes, this place is amazing! Best shakes and sundaes! Slightly pricey but worth it!

My wife and I come to Tahoe every year for years for our anniversary this year is special 20 years. I come to the red hut caffe on ski run every year but this year I got to meet the most awesome waitress deb. She was so friendly and talked to us as if we had known each other for years the next day we went back and she remembered us and we again had great conversation. She made our experience great and hope to see her for years to come wanted to give her extra tip as they share tips and she kind let declined us. Keep up good work deb see you next year.

My FAVE place for breakfast. Great Bloody Mary with jalapeño bacon and celery! I always get the bacon waffle with a side of chorizo parties and a side of biscuits and gravy. YUM!

My family and I went to this place for the very 1st time over the weekend. We searched and searched. Our 1st stop was Denny’s mainly because it was right near our hotel and we thought fast and simple. Well we were absolutely wrong. Denny’s was dirty, had a crowd that was unbearably and we over heard one of the waiters saying -«Well they’ll have to wait». Didn’t even take our drink order despite sitting there for nearly 20 minutes. Anyway, point is, we left. We then came across Red hut and decided to give it a try. Right when we got there we were greeted with pleasure, seated right away, and ordered within a few minutes. The place is clean, great atmosphere, family friendly and all the waiters/waitresses are super nice. I say this because we returned for breakfast the next morning and yet again we got wonderful service again. My family and I were very pleased and the food is so deelish! Yummy, yum, yum we will be returning for sure. We give it 5 stars and definitely recommend it

This is for dinner and ice cream. Service and ice cream were excellent! Great place for an easy meal with the kids. Food is okay, expect something close to Denny’s or similar. Salad is made with deli meat(as opposed to grilled chicken, for example), and burger tasted/looked to be bought frozen. Kids loved their chicken tenders and fries! Probably better to stick with those sorts of items off the menu(or breakfast from what I’ve seen in the reviews). Ice cream is purchased separately in the ice cream shop, even if you dine in the restaurant.(Or at least this was the case for us). They have all the standard flavors, and a fun sundae menu, including a kids’ sundae. Not a ton of toppings, but enough: gummy bears, Kit Kat, variety of syrups, nuts, etc. They were generous with the toppings on our order!

I was hesitant at first to eat here but I’m sure glad I did. This place was tasty and the service was above par. Shayna my waitress was attentive and when I didn’t want hashbrowns because too many carbs, she didn’t hesitate to offer fruit instead. I ordered an omelet and it was delicious. The manager was also nice and came around offering some good coffee. Definitely a better choice than the breakfast chain down the street.

We found this little place while looking for a good little place to get some comfort food before going out for the evening. The staff was great, very friendly, very nice. The food was good and we were served quickly. It’s a cute little place and very clean. We would definitely return when in Tahoe.

Presentation of the food was a little discouraging but ended up being pretty good! The men got the big burger which got an A and the women shared the shrimp tacos which were just okay, would give a B– just because they were a bit boring. The tacos were much better with some salsa added! Kids got pancakes that were A+ and fries were amazing! Service was good, very friendly. Could have been a bit more clean as far as swept, booth chairs wiped, and the menus were a bit sticky but the atmosphere, service, and food was great. I didn’t give a 3 star because we were there busiest time of year and end of night– mess factor could have been from a busy dinner service. I’m hoping that’s why.

#174 Fabulous breakfast – thanks Henry! We have been in Tahoe several days and always eat at the same place, cause it is awesome. But… My friend Henry told me about the Red Hut and I was ready to try something new. We got to the Red Hut pretty early and there was a tiny wait, but we slipped right in after another group. Our server greeted us and brought coffee and Bloody Mary’s to start. After a good look at the menu we decided. The Usual plus sausage links Omelet with avocado and hash browns Two sunny side ups with hash browns Two bacon Bloody Mary’s Biscuits with country gravy Our server was so sweet. She made sure that no one ever needed coffee refills, or anything else. We will return to Red Hut – thanks Henry for your suggestion. Stephani Smiles for The Red Hut ;)

Didn’t feel the restaurant was very accommodating. Definitely doesn’t know how to seat bigger parties. The service of the waitress there were decent. The quality of the food is right on par with Denny’s. The menu was limited.

Went here for breakfast and wasn’t disappointed. The initial wait time we were told was 20 minutes, but we were seated in 10. All the staff were super friendly and family oriented. We were seated off the main area which was great for our 3 kids. The food came out fast as it was ready, no waiting for food while the kids melted down. Breakfast was incredibly good. We ordered Pecan Waffles, a Red Hut Rösti, a milkshake(which they split into 3 cups for us), kid plates, and 2 Lattés. Everything was delicious. Where will we eat next time we visit Tahoe? The Red Hut Café.
We opted for this location versus the Original Red Hut Café on Lake Tahoe Blvd. because this was bigger(we thought the wait would be shorter) and it was closer to our hotel and Heavenly Village. When you walk in, you will immediately notice an old-school ice cream parlor and a small section of souvenirs and goods to purchase. My boyfriend and I sat at the counter. Unfortunately, there’s no where to put your purse if you’re carrying one. No hooks under the counter like some restaurants have and impossible to hang on the back of seat since we were sitting on stools. This place was really busy for a Monday breakfast! Waitresses were zooming all over the restaurant. When our waitress stopped to get our order, I got the red hut rosti and my boyfriend got the french toast. You can select your bread for the french toast and I think Texas toast bread is always ideal for french toast. The french toast was good, satisfying, and everything that a french toast should be. The red hut rosti came with hash browns, melted cheese, sour cream, sausages(you can choose your protein), and garnished with green onions. The first couple of bites were delicious! How can you not like melted cheese and sour cream on top of hash browns? But after a while, it got a little old and I was yearning for more. More flavors, more surprises, just something more. Overall, it was a good and hearty breakfast. It is definitely a good start to your morning. I can’t declare myself a fan because I’ve had better. Nonetheless, my stomach left satisfied.

We stayed at Postmarc next door. So we decided to have breakfast here since it’s closeby. It has like the diner setting, you order, food comes, they give you the check and you pay in front. Service is barely there, as our waitress just took our order and gave our food. Then bye bye forever. Lol Got the waffle and chicken, I dont think the waffle is as amazing as what people have mentioned here. Its dry and rubbery to me :(the chicken tenders tho was super good! And it comes with a gravy! 3.5÷5 for this dish less than $ 10. My bf got the Hasbrown with 3 meats, portion was kinda tiny but it is filling and good. 4⁄5.

We got to-go tonight(ordered from the menu online). Addie was our cashier. She was lovely. The website menu hasn’t been updated forever. The price went up $ 3 per item. She said they tell the main office to fix it all the time. They don’t listen to her. Will they listen to customers? Still love the place but sorry they aren’t on top of things.(We saw the changes in June and it is almost October lol). Come for dinner at the Ski Run store. Not crazy busy like daytime. It was nice. If I had known, we wouldn’t have taken it to-go. :-)

There was a 30 min wait for a table for 2 for breakfast so we ordered coffee drinks from the ice cream parlor while we waited. The coffee drinks were good and quite filling. We both ordered the same entrée but mine with ham and a poached egg and my wife wit bacon and scrambled egg whites. When they arrived, my wife’s entrée looked so much better than mine My poached egg was poached hard so there was no yolk to leak all over my hashbrowns. Also the ham was cubed and and appeared to be thrown on as an afterthought. The overall display of my plate was not up to par. I politely let the staff know that I was not satisfied with my entrée and they took it back to the kitchen for me. There are two photos; One is of the initial entrée that was brought out and the next was of the redo that I asked them for. I had them make it with poached egg soft and add bacon instead of ham. Despite the initial first plate that came out, the second one was much more appealing and ultimately delicious. Overall we really enjoyed the food and the service and would definitely return!

I dont know why this place has mediocre ratings. Their ice cream parlour is awesome! The interior décor is very aesthetically welcoming. The place is a local family owned business and they are very friendly. The owner came over to my friends, myself, and the family next to us and was very hospitable and interested in getting to know her customers. I appreciated her genuineness. Also, we ordered Mr. Toad sundae… we switched out the chocolate with the cookie dough and my goodness, its amazing! Let alone the portions… also we had the coke float with vanilla ice cream. It comes with 2 scoops. I had a great time here, I recommend everyone to show this place some love.
