Really good food but a bit pricey for essentially a diner menu. Daily special menu said pumpkin pancakes but apparently that was old and they had no such item that day :(

Good food, good price. For a tourist trap it’s a solid stop with normal foods! High recommendation for breakfast(Chicken and waffles was great, biscuits and gravy were less than ideal). French dip sandwich was thick cut roast beef — yum! We liked the fries too. We were seated and waited on by obvious ski bums, which made us skeptical — but they were super attentive and accurate with the order! I’m def keeping this high on the list of places to eat in S Tahoe and will be here multiple times while I’m in town.

I don’t like the wait on the weekends. Hint: get there before 830am otherwise close to a one hour wait. It’s really cute, but smallish and popular. There’s a few other locations in South Lake Tahoe(and Carson Valley, and Reno), so get there early. The Hostess, albeit young, was way on top of things. Great communication, and she kept everyone at bay. Once the gf and I sat down, friendly and warm service, and again — on top of things so we felt very taken care of. The breakfast was the standard types of eggs, waffles, and pancakes… but by the time the food was served, it was the best food EVER. It’s probably a 3.5 for the food, but overall service deserves a 4.5.

One word: Jalapeño bacon. Finding good food in Tahoe isn’t easy. Red Hut Café is now my go-to place. This location(which is actually called The New Red Hut Café — Unilocal needs corrected) serves breakfast all day — which is just fine with me. In addition to the bacon I got a huge omelet and loved it. Highly recommended!
