My fam and I stood in this line for way too long! There were five people working and we didn’t get up to the counter for our order for at least 15 minutes. There might of been a lot of people but I’ve seen baristas move at three times the speed that these workers did. I tried to be understanding but I felt like the baristas were taking their time. After checking other reviews, my frustration has been confirmed. This place needs to get its act together. Nobody wants to wait for coffee for 20 minutes.

For some reason I continue to give Starbucks a try once or twice a year. I drank a frappucino a few days ago from the Placerville store and it was sweet and tasted alright. So here I am getting stupid and I try the same drink at this store. The true Starbucks comes through… burnt flavored coffee that couldn’t even be covered up with the 80 grams of sugar in this frappucino. This is almost impossible to drink it tastes so burnt and disgusting. I even have a Starbucks lover a drink and she finally agreed that Starbucks burns their coffee and should be called Charbucks. $ 6 for this over burnt disgusting drink. Somebody at this store needs to learn, from one former barista to all y’all, turn the espresso machine off a few seconds earlier and you’ll stop making such terrible espresso and coffee drinks! Stop disappointing. Let’s hope I don’t make the same mistake a year from now and give Charbucks another try.

Not happy with person on the register at all. He won’t let my wife use her phone app to make separate transactions due«too many people in line». All staff on duty are not friendly. Will definitely try a different location next time I’m here in SLT.

Great little location. Don’t bother going when the tourists are up it just gets too busy. People complain about slow service sometimes in these reviews because they’re not local and choose to go when things are crazy busy. Use common sense. If traffic is backed up all the way to the Y because the idiots drive up to the mountains in their two wheel drive vehicles putting on their chains it’s probably going to be busy and service will be sub par. Monday through Friday morning is just perfect.

Pleasant, warm and cozy place to get coffee. But difficult to find a place to sit when busy. Baristas are pretty prompt with drinks. Elongated set up of room makes for the crowded feeling one gets when one enters.

Place is run horrible, there’s a couple nice girls who know how to make a drink well, apart from that… Good luck! I would give one more star but after watching some unsanitary things behind the counter, and«interesting» interactions between staff, I couldn’t justify it.

Took 17 min for them to get a morning bun ready and a sausage sandwich. When asked the lady at the counter just rolled her eyes at us. Very rude starbucks

This Starbucks was amazing! For a quick wayside location in Tahoe, this was much better service than expected! Talk about great service, Makenna greeted me with a smile and took my order without error, Emily was quick to help and warm up the nice treats and eats I purchased and Dylan made a superb latte and Carmel macchiato. No complaints. I left with a smile and my hot drinks.

I’m in Lake Tahoe spending the weekend and I luckily came across this Starbucks while shopping at Raley’s for some groceries. I ordered two drinks and asked for my name. Everything was going ok… it wasn’t really packed… so my boyfriend got his coffee and then someone ended up with my drink and I ended up with their drink. So they had to remake mine and the other persons drink. He got his drink well and once again my drink went to somebody else. I don’t understand why baristas ask for your name if they don’t yell it out causing the chaos of mixing up drinks. Finally the third time came along and I finally Got my drink and once again no names were called so I assumed it was mine so I asked and they confirmed it was. All in all it was very confusing… you can definitely find a way better Starbucks than this place…

Good overall service… great setting and can’t beat the fireplace! Obviously it’s a tourist run town and they are super busy in the busy season. I hope the people that work there know that they are working harder then most drive thru starbucks I have been too!

Okay I never really go to Starbucks but the one time I do we have to wait 15 minutes to get coffee. Then they bring it part of the order and then we have to wait another 10 minutes for the rest of the order.

Don’t come on a busy day. They can’t keep their non coffee orders together! My coffee was ready and the pile of orders for food had not been started. I should not have to ask.

My wife and I are regulars at Starbucks, so we were thrilled to find a Starbucks near our campsite. My wife drinks specialty Frappuccino twice a day, day in and day out. I like plain old coffee. In the 5 days we recently spent at South Lake Tahoe, the poor soles at this Starbucks did not get the drinks(two drinks) correct ONCE. One of my cups of coffee had enough grounds in it to fill a teaspoon. My wife’s drinks were not completely blended(leaving chunks of ice) and the ingredients were wrong several times. This drink costs in excess of $ 4… PLEASE… How hard is it??? The part that REALLY burned me was when my wife had ordered and was left to wait while airhead baristas helped their friends ahead of her(after she had ordered)… Meanwhile, the woman I assumed was the manager stood near what looked like an office and kept calling names of the baristas(distracting them). Dumb is Dumb, but Rude is not acceptable! There are other Starbucks in the area and we’ll make it a point to drive the extra distance on our next vacation and hopefully avoid the frustration…

Came in on a Tuesday afternoon and expected a horrible service but to my surprise, the staff was nice and fast with my order. Probably because it’s off season, the store is pretty empty. This Starbuck has plenty of seats out and indoors. It’s pretty spacious comparing to many other stores I’ve been to. Drinks are just like any other typical Starbucks.

A reasonably good SB location. Unfortunately, they have a lot going against them… they’re the only SB, they’re in a busy shopping center, in a vacation area the crowd can vary up and down within a 5 minute period, there’s a small pool of potential employees and they’re not close to SB supply and support functions. Despite all this going against them, they press on and do their best to crank out the drinks. It’s all about consistency at SB, so the service, speed and beverage quality have been better than average in the handful of visits I’ve had here. There’s not a lot of space to hang out with your laptop here, although there is some. As there’s a fair amount of traffic in and out, I’d recommend Alpina if you need a place to actually get some work done.

I go to Starbucks all over the state of California. It seems every time I go to this one they are super slow. I get Tahoe time, but there is a difference in that and just slow. A few weeks ago my 21 year old son bought a sausage sandwich and the middle was cold. He told the young manager there and the kid said there was nothing he could do about it, they all come out that way. tonight I waited 25 minutes for a tall iced coffee with 2 people in front of me. Ok, back to Tahoe time.

I don’t understand, yet this seems to apply to every Starbucks I have ever been to, why the staff are so holier and thou because they managed to get a position as a barista. I don’t want any attitude from some dumb goth with gaping holes in their ears and head gear. Really? You think you’re so fucking cool making people drinks all day huh? What a joke. Other than douche bag staff, the place is rather small. The only redeeming thing about this place is that it has a outside lounge area, with a fireplace, couches, and other table seating. But that’s really about it. Not impressed, but as with any Starbucks, this seems to be the norm.

Visited this quaint Starbucks location twice over this past weekend on my mini vacation to South Lake Tahoe. The atmosphere was warm and friendly and the staff service was quick and accurate. I enjoyed the nice, cozy ambience that the two-sided gas fireplace provided on both the inside and outside of this location. I would definitely recommend this coffee location to any one in the area passing through or looking for a quiet place to study. I will continue to visit this location at «the y» every time I pass through Tahoe.

Ideas for ways to occupy yourself while waiting in line for an inordinate amount of time at this location: 1) watch four employees flounder about the pastry case and help each other serve one customer, together, at a time. 2) watch the guy who looks to be a supervisor pop his head out from the back room, look at the long line of customers, and pop back into the back room. Count the number of times that he does this. Bonus points for when he does it twice while you are in the same spot in line! 3) Watch him put the only cashier on break, then finally put on an apron and start ringing. At this point he may get a phone call from what sounds to be an employee calling in sick… It looks like this location has already been identified as a bad place to go if you are expecting the standard Starbucks pace and efficiency. Do yourselves a favor and go to Rude Brothers down the street instead. I haven’t even been there yet but they could only be an improvement. Update: when the coffee was finally cool enough to drink, we realized it was burned to a crisp. Even the lemon loaf slice was stale. BOTTOMLINE: THEREISNOREASONTOPATRONIZETHISLOCATION.

I love this Starbucks. Everyone there is awesome and so nice. They know my drink when I come in, I feel like Norm from cheers. Now there are a few noteworthy rock star baristas that are amazing,…Mykel, Rafa, Josh, Madison this is just to name a few(they are all pretty great). The place is always clean, your never waiting and the whole vibe is so not like most Starbucks. Its laid back with happy people. I give this place 5 stars…
