First time trying this place due to the high ratings. I got the mix(fries/tots/bacon/cheese) and built my own sandwich. The mix is nothing special, looks really good but all it is was fries/tots/bacon bites/cheese, they didnt do anything special. I can make this at home, 2* for the mix. Built my own sandwich(dark sweet wheat bread/pepper jack cheese/mozzarella cheese/bacon/fried eggs/grilled onions/sautéed mushrooms.) This was pretty good, 4* for that. Service was friendly, but they brought my food out as dine in when it was a togo order. Then it took them 5 – 10 min just to pack it. By the time i got home, food was cold. Maybe ill give it another try but dine in next time.

I came in and had the grilled cheese sandwich. Bread was good, cheese was awful. It is obvious that Mix n’ Munch uses the cheapest cheese possible. Maybe their other food is good, but stay away from that grilled cheese sandwich.

This place offers a variety of sandwiches. You have the choice of creating your own sandwich or you can choose their standard sandwiches. They also have what I like to call a mini cereal bar. Think of this as a cold stone but for cereal. You have the choice to add any mix in to your cereal. Amazing!!! You can get the combo which includes half a sandwich with fries/tots or you can substitute the fries for a mini cereal. Customer service is amazing here. I will be coming here often.

My girlfriend and I took the Metro to South Pas to walk the area and stumbled upon this place — and absolutely loved it! I built my own ham/turkey/cheese sandwich on sourdough while she had the California Cheese Steak and they were both fantastic! The bread was toasted just right, there was an ample amount of meat and cheese, and they were both delicious. The staff was friendly and courteous, the place is quaint and clean, and there’s ample table seating as well as a counter looking out onto Mission St. which is where we sat. We’re already looking forward to returning and trying out more menu items!

It is easily missed as one might think they are walking into the adjacent bookstore. The overall experience is unique and customer friendly regarding personalization of orders. I customized my breakfast sandwich and my boyfriend got the bacon mac and cheese sandwich. We both enjoyed. Although mine was assembled rather messily(and fell apart easily until I had to reassemble it myself) the food was great and the service was quick and easy.

Just came here for breakfast and shared breakfast tacos and banana walnut French toast my wife. The breakfast tacos are genius! Perfect to share(or not) and full of flavor. I love breakfast burritos but I think I’m a convert to breakfast tacos now. I don’t know why more places don’t do this. The banana walnut French toast is really good too. They top it with a lot of fresh bananas and walnuts. Really tasty!!!

$ 5 for a bowl of cereal is a bit ridic but the different combinations you can pick are so awesome! Also, eating a grilled cheese and a bowl of cereal, yum! I customized my own grilled cheese sandwich and got a small bowl of «the cookie bowl.» My grilled cheese sandwich– dark sweet bread with a fried egg, grilled onions and provolone & Swiss cheese. Yum. The cookie bowl– Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Golden Grahams, Cookie Crisps and Oreos. There’s a milk station where you can pour however much milk you want into your bowl of cereal. The Oreo dissolved fairly quickly and I was basically eating cereal with cookies and cream milk. Actually really good. So good. My friend got the Firebolt, which was a lot cheesier and more gooey than my grilled cheese. Cute place. Fun. Chill. Great for kids.

Wow… Love the idea of this place and all the various sandwiches they have! I came in and tried the chili cheese tots and the strawberry Nutella sandwich. Both amazing and super affordable! My total came out to $ 7.50. The strawberry Nutella sandwich is probably the most delicious sandwich I’ve ever had. I’ll forsure be back. Though I wish they were open an extra hour in the morning and night, this place is awesome.

The overall atmosphere gives a small town feel and a sense of community. The bread for the sandwiches are nice and crisp. I tried the Chocolate Peanut Butter Delight cereal bowl and it was great! The variety and multiple options of cereal mixes makes it a fun time!

If you love grilled cheese sandwiches this place is the bomb! I wish I could come here every week but alas, I get outvoted by my hubby who can’t have the same thing over and over every week no matter how good it is… I definitely could! Maybe I should go back to being single just so I can go here every weekend lol. I would compare this place to the grilled cheese truck but honestly this place blows them out of the water. They even have an awesome collection of cereals that you can mix to your hearts content. You gotta try this place!

The minute I entered this restaurant I realized my bro picked this place for his toddler nephew! Don’t worry they serve more than cereal here although they have a wide variety of cereal favorites from cap’n crunch to fruity cocoa pebbles. The servers are wonderful friendly people. One of the servers(I didn’t catch her name) was a petite Asian girl with blonde hair she got us boxes and offered to take a group family photo for us since she saw us trying to get everybody in a photo. She was so amazing! I love friendly people that go out of their way to make your experience that much better. The coffee was dark, bitter and rich. Not my fav cup of java but my husband loved it. I prefer my coffee sweet.

This is a pretty random combination but simple– a place you can get grilled cheese and cereal. I never really thought of the 2 things together but who doesn’t love love both those things? The cereal aspect seems kind me of a rip off. One bowl is easily 3 bucks. But I guess it’s nice if you have commitment issues with purchasing an entire box of sugary cereal(like myself)…and you can mix different flavor so which is not ever an option I have at home. The self serving milk fountain is cute too. The grilled cheese is more interesting to me. They have their signature grilled cheeses and a build your own option. Everything on the menu sounded so good, I had a hard time deciding! I ended up getting the Firebolt(yay Harry Potter!) with chicken on sweet wheat bread. It has jack cheese and chipotle mayo. It was so good, and I can’t wait to try all their other items! My friend ordered a pesto grilled cheese and that was very satisfying as well. The place itself is big and had plenty of seating, although it wasn’t very crowded when I went on a Saturday. Also, street parking only but it wasn’t hard to find a spot on some neighboring streets. It’s in a cute part of town, attached to a bookstore and other coffee shops and cafes in the area.

I stop by everyday to order their really yummy watermelon lemonade. Also, I’m a really picky eater and the staff is always super sweet about taking my custom order and delivering it just right. Congrats on 5 awesome years!

One thing you should know about this place — it’s very kid friendly! Bring your kids or nieces and nephews and enjoy breakfast together! PARKING Street parking available. We turned on the same block as the Metro stop and parked on the streets. It was a two minute walk to Mix n’ Munch. INTERIOR/EXTERIOR This little brunch spot is located on Mission in South Pasadena, right next to La Monarca Bakery & Café. The area feels very much like an old town with the historic buildings. Inside is spacious — many tables available. It’s a cute place with its large cereal box décor, milk station, and menu boards. MENU The boyfriend got the Mix ‘n Munch Sandwich which was grilled cheese, tater tots, bacon, and egg. It was delicious — definitely getting it on my next visit. He also ordered a side of tater tots which was overkill, since the sandwich was pretty generous in size. I went for the traditional cereal instead, and got the Runner’s Choice specialty mix that included fresh strawberries and bananas with honey bunches of oats cereal and almonds. It was a very good mix and taste fresh and healthy! The cereal option has great customization, since you can mix and match your favorite cereals and choose your choice of milk. They have a large selection of cereal and three choices of milk — nonfat, 2% and whole. I also tried their Cookies ‘n Crème Rice Krispies treats and I loved it. SERVICE No friendly greeting from workers upon entering — we were left unattended before we were asked to order, but not the unfriendliest people either. Other than that, the workers that brought out our food was nice.

Decided to come here for brunch yesterday and the first thing I noticed about this place is how much they let you customize everything! I loved having the option to make my own grilled cheese. I went with pepper jack and cheddar cheese, avocados, lettuce, and jalapeños. I was a little disappointed that the sandwich doesn’t have any sauce/condiment options. Anywho onto the cereal… it’s a bit on the pricy side but it was quite yummy. Now one thing I didn’t much care for at all was the tomato soup it was very… sour. Also it’s very annoying that the cereal is about $ 4 for the mini size and then you have to pay another $ 1 if you want milk. Overall, I enjoyed the grilled cheese options but in my opinion everything’s else was just okay or too pricey to come back.

I know they are famous for their cereal and grilled cheeses, but my bf and I got the breakfast tacos and yogurt parfait, and omg everything was so good! I got the yogurt parfait with granola, strawberries, blueberries, and honey. It looked so good and tasted even better! My bf has been complaining about the lack of breakfast tacos in California, and this is the first place we found that he deemed to be decent haha. I love the egg on the taco! Definitely recommend both!

It’s more like a 3.5 star but rounding up to 4. Super quaint and casual lunch spot in South Pasadena. The concept of having a cereal /sandwich shop seems so bizarre yet cool. Came here for the first time for lunch and it was busy! I decided to make my own custom grilled cheese sandwich. I think with all the toppings I got, it ended up being a little over $ 5. The hubby got the breakfast sammy sandwich and liked it a lot. We both thought the sandwiches were on the greasier side. But heck, it’s a grilled cheese sandwich. My favorite thing was the watermelon water. It’s homemade and tastes so refreshing and not too sweet. Parking can be bit of a challenge since it’s only street parking. But, it’s a great spot for casual dining and awesome for the kiddos :)

Mistakenly arriving for my out-of-town Dr. appt 2 hours early, we needed to kill some time. Having rushed my kids out of the house without eating and relying on über to get around, we turned to Unilocal to find options close by. First of all let me say that this historic area of South Pasadena is SO adorable and filled with personality and overflowing with breakfast options. We found the coolest one! With a sweet assortment of crunchy cereals and flavorful add-ons, plus a mouth-watering assortment of gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches, I knew we were in the right place. For a split second I was afraid I might have to skip a warm egg breakfast til I saw the Mix ‘n’ Munch breakfast Sammy! Bingo! Warm gooey cheese, crisp toasted bread, perfectly delicious egg and tots! PARENTS: A bonus for the kids — a white board with magnet messages to be creative or write«Sarah was here!» Our Three-thumb review is 3 thumbs up! My teen-age son dug hanging out and playing«I spy» in a book that featured pop-art from well-known candy and food(including cereal, of course) labels. My decade-old daughter loved her Grilled America cheese sandwich(with a back-up thumbs up from my son). I loved the tots, I’ll be honest, they(like donut holes) are like glitter for food. But I also thought the non-electronic family bonding time was simple but priceless! #ThreeThumbReviews

What a fun addition to the South Pasadena area! Enter through The Battery Books and Music and hang a quick right to get to Mix n’ Munch. Grilled cheeses galore! This comfort food took me back to my childhood and they offer many different options. Don’t see a combination to your liking? No worries, you can build your own grilled cheese or check out the specials board! The Firebolt– Roast beef, provolone, pepper jack and spicy mayo. I like the little kick this sandwich has to offer. Rice Krispy Treats? Who doesn’t love those! Mix n’ Munch offers Munch Bites which is their own spin on this favorite treat. I tried the Cookies and Cream, Cinnamon Toast Crunch and Rice Krispies, Golden Grahams and Cocoa Krispies. I think the Cinnamon Toast crunch was my favorite. If grilled cheeses are too much greasy goodness for you, they have healthier options like oatmeal and a plethora of cereals to choose from. I’m ready for a return visit! Keep an eye out for street parking as you approach Mix n’ Munch!

Mix n’ Munch is the perfect little sandwich spot for this area in South Pas. they really cater to your comfort food cravings, but best of all, Me and my Little! it just so happens, that cheese and fries are two of the booger’s favorite things to eat, and he’s quite the picky eater. being that MnM is right around the corner from the library and Amy’s Playground, it makes South Pas the perfect low key outing for us. i don’t have to fuss about packing a lunch, and we get to have ours warm and freshly made. we usually get a GRILLEDCHEESE on sourdough with Provolone and Mozzarella and some ham. TATERS on the side, and their MELONJUICE(more like a cantaloupe agua fresca) make it the perfect combo! i’ve also had the BLT which was spot on, but there are tons of other possibilities, depending on my mood and craving. in addition, they have a big screen TV that’s often tuned in to a cartoon and their white board with magnets, the toys and books also make it the perfect hang out so mom can eat while booger is busy mingling with toys and munching around. there’s also a great used bookstore right next door with a train table, for more kiddie fun and reading for all!
