Was there this past Friday for dinner and the food did not disappoint. We have dined there often and can’t think of a time that the sushi/sashimi wasn’t good. The staff behind the sushi bar always does a great job. We luckily had a great waiter(Kit) too(we have suffered through some bad waitstaff there and at times some rude hostesses). Would be nice to not have top forty music blaring while dining as it doesn’t really fit the atmosphere but that’s just me.

I’ve only had the sushi here, but I have to say that it is the best in the area! Always fresh and the staff is attentive and friendly.

Stopped in during business travel alone and sat at the sushi bar. Got the miso soup(standard miso with plenty of seaweed and tofu), then Coconut Shrimp(butterflied shrimp with very good coconut flavor and texture and great dipping sauce). Then I got the spicy tuna roll(plain but flavorful) and the Rising Sun roll, which was excellent! The Rising Sun roll had great fresh flavored with perfect amount of soft and crunch. It is very large pieces, so prepare to be filled up by it. Will definitely come back when I’m in the area again!

My dining experience at this restaurant was mediocre. The staff were pleasant and the food was average. Today I had a sashimi lunch special. The role that came with it was not that tasty. The eel was very good but the Mackerel didn’t seem to be its best. I thought I was getting an OK deal at $ 12.95 until I got the check for $ 16+. I guess I felt a bit ripped that they charge me $ 2.50 for a glass of seltzer water. I won’t be going there again there is a better sushi place just down the road that I have been to quite a few times

My wife, daughter and I ate here when we visited the area. Looked for Sushi on Unilocal and found this as a good option. It was OK. There was nothing special about the food or the atmosphere. I liked the bridge you walk over to enter inside the restaurant but they should have fish in it. The service was fine but it seamed that the server had a problem understanding exactly what my wife was asking regarding Chicken with lo main noodles. Not much Chicken but the noodles were not salty so good there. I had the seafood miso. For what they charged I expected more. The sushi roles were OK as well. I will try some place else next time.

Sakura Garden is a nice upscale hibachi restaurant. They have good scorpion bowls and the hibachi combos are delicious. I recommend making reservations for weekend evenings, as it can get very busy. The dessert selection is amazing!

Generally I dont write reviews but the treatment I got here was out of this world so I am writing one. The guy who took my order was least interested. He was not bothered to answer my question. being a vegetarian I was finding it difficult to order but he didnt make an effort to explain options available for vegetarian. I decided to order vegetable hibachi. Guy bought both Soup & Salad together. I was surprised but when i noticed him looking somewhere else while serving me, i was not happy. I was still having my Salad, he brought hibachi as if he wants to go home. I was thought of leaving at that point but it was too cold to out & drive. I did ask him to get my entrée once i am done with Salad but i think he didnt understood or ignored so he put the plate and done. Food was average. Not that gr8.

Came here last night with a large group of co-workers. We sat at the hibachi table and had a great time overall. When we walked in, the hostesses at the reception area seemed a bit confused although we had made a reservation well in advance. Once the confusion was straightened out, we were lead to our table and everything went smoothly from there on out. I shared a scorpion bowl with a guy from work and it was definitely a great value. Averaged out to $ 8 each and we got a very decent amount of booze for our money. Besides it was delicious, colorful, and just fun to drink. The hibachi chef who wears the large cowboy hat is a blast. He is so fun and entertaining and works so hard to ensure everyone has a wonderful time. He tossed veggies in our mouths and squirted sake in our mouths. Everyone was laughing and having a great time. My one complaint is the prices for the food are high, but you get what you pay for. You get a fresh, delicious meal and a fun, exciting show. So for special occasions it is worth it but I wouldn’t recommend it as a regular thing because again, quite pricey. I got the vegetable hibachi and it was $ 14. Some co-workers got the steak, which looked delicious, but was out of my budget at $ 22. But again, the quality and presentation was awesome, so overall well worth it. My group looks forward to returning in a few months!

Bar was busy, had an awesome Sapporo plus my date had a frozen mango drink that she won’t stop talking about. Will definitely be back! Volcano Roll and Mummy Roll were on point! Great service

Once upon a time… Long long ago. It’s been 2 yrs since I last ate here but I’m only writing this review coz the nite was so memorable… The hibachi experience was one of a kind, I can’t seem to forget. The most unique, entertaining dinners I’ve ever had(while sitting with a bunch of strangers). The chef was funny, entertaining and had some really kool knife skills that he showed off, the volcano onion, the trick where he pours sake from a distance into ur mouth till u are soaked high up in it, he was so full of energy that at the end of the night no one at the table felt disconnected from each other(we were like a big happy family). A long due visit and an updated review coming up.

Very nice inside and food is good but nothing spectacular. They don’t do any happy hour specials which we learned once we got there which kind of was a disappointment. Good if you’re craving decent sushi but I’ll stick to the Glastonbury spot which does decent happy hour specials on food.

This is a place that tries to be trendier and seem fancier than it actually is. Restaurants like this don’t always particularly appeal to me as I’d rather have great quality food without the flashy atmosphere. And there always seems to be something so unauthentic about them. Don’t get me wrong, the food here is actually good, but isn’t better than other places that serve Asian cuisine in the area. The sushi is decent enough, but like everything else on the menu, is vastly overpriced for what you get. Hibachi can be fun and is always a good option for group outings. All in all, it’s hard to frequent this place due to their prices that don’t match up to the quality of food presented(you’re basically paying for the atmosphere), but every now and then it’s a decent option when dining out.

Had the yellow tail halapeno. It’s got a really good kick to it. For the spice lovers. Tantalizing. Yummy. Angle dragon was pretty good. Very different. Lovers the different tastes in it. Avocado was have a very creamy texture.

Pretty good local place for hibachi! We had a large group for a birthday party, about half ordered hibachi and half ordered off the menu. I love hibachi and have gone to a lot of different restaurant, I have to say Sakura is one of my favorites for hibachi! People that ordered off the menu said the food was just okay.

I looked over the Unilocal reviews. Overall they were very good, but I did see some poor reviews relating to special diets & requests. My waitress was very attentive to my adult daughters request & found answers to all their questions. Both my vegan daughters recommend this place because they often get vegan sushi rolls for take out here. My wife is the picky eater & was not very excited about Japanese food, but it’s hard to find a restaurant where we could all eat. We had three eating from the hibachi grill & my two daughters ordering off the menu with special requests relating to how the food was prepared & ingredients. My wife loved the flavor of all her food & so did I.(don’t forget, she’s the picky one) My daughters special requests were honored & we had a very special dinner with my visiting sister. I don’t think the cost was all that bad. Three adults had the hibachi grill & two adults ordered off the menu, two glasses of wine & three drinks. Total: $ 160 prior to the tip!

I’m being completely honest and saying that this is one of the best sushi places I have ever been! I came for lunch and tried the lunch special. It came with soup, salad and the main entrée sushi. I was not crazy about the Miso soup or the Salad dressing poured on the salad, but the sushi was great! It had flavor, everything fresh and tasty! The waitstaff are really nice and the environment is great. The interior is really beautiful I enjoyed it for being my first time. I will return when I’m in the area again.

I have visited this place twice. The food is delicious and quantity is of decent size. I tried the lunch box and hibachi. I was disappointed with the hibachi though. For the price we paid I expected more of the show(comparing to other hibachi places I’ve been). It was for just about 2 – 3 min in the beginning and he cooked and served food after that . They care about your food choices and allergies. The show though short was well put forward and entertaining.

I had some small questions for the staff on ingredients because of my allergies and I did not feel comfortable with their answers. The waitress did not attempt to listen or answer and seemed to rush us. I ended up quickly ordering and didn’t order enough. They never came by to refill our waters, or ask us if we wanted anything else. The sushi was good, had a nice presentation, and was light. However, while they were good rolls, I probably wouldn’t return because of the staff.

Sushi is solid. Waitstaff is on point. Loved the atmosphere. Would recommend to first time sushi people if for nothing else than the waitstaff is great at explaining what’s what if you have questions. The bridge over the pond when you walk in is pretty amazing too.
