I have lived on Cape Cod for twenty years and ate at Skippy’s Pier I for the first time. The food was great for both my husband and myself and the service was excellent. It was so nice to sit by the window looking out over the marina. It was quiet and relaxing. The bartender, Moe, was fabulous and we had an after dinner drink at the bar following our meal. All in all it was a wonderful evening and we can’t wait to go back.

We came on a Sunday night @ 7:30 with our 9 months old child. The place is pretty empty, we got to pick where to sit. The Service was great, we got fresh baked garlic bread right away and it was yummy. Hubby had the linguini with clam which he enjoyed. I had boiled lobster, the market price was $ 32. It came with fresh veggie and choice of rice pilaf, mashed potatoes, or fries. I ordered the rice pilaf. I enjoyed the lobster, the veggie was bland and the pilaf was luke warm. But I didn’t mind it because it was perfect for my 9 mo old baby to eat. We like this place much better than the Lobster Boat down the road.

I had the fried shrimp and my wife had the fish & chips. On both dinners the crust was soft. Now I like me some fried seafood, but the crust should be crispy, not soft! We split a bowl of clam chowder-very salty! The service was attentive. The garlic rolls were good, but the french fries were frozen french fries! Hey Cape Cod when you’re paying out the money that we do for dinners on the Cape, french fries should be natural cut: no frozen french fries! Also everything was a la carte. I was charged $ 2.50 for each(2) soda I had. Won’t be goin’ back!

well… now we know why this place is rated #29 out of 4x restaurants in this place. we have been sitting 90+ minutes on a Saturday night… we were going of that the wait was 20 minutes. We got drinks. bartender is a good guy. so why are we still here? they gave us two rounds of bread and we have had 3 rounds of wine and beer… so i need them to wear off. stay away… the people that also waited in front of us also are not served! go to the lobster place across the marina.

Disgraceful meal and service and abusive reaction from the manager who should be fired. Very poor customer service and the food was not any better. Waited over an hour and half only to want to leave once we were served. It’s not like there were many people there, and it was a Saturday night. The location is really nice but I cannot recommend this restaurant at all.

Great location and view(very few in Yarmouth area), awesome service but food was mixed. There was no wait at 7pm on Friday night which was surprising. The food from best to worst. We had the swordfish blackened which was excellent(most places over cook it). Clam chowder was very good as was the lobster roll. The chicken Parmesan was not so good and the scallops were bland and seemed microwaved. The scallops came with risotto which was also very bland. All said, I would come back as the location and service were great but would be more careful in ordering.

Gross, no other way to describe it. 1. Who runs out of chowder on the Cape? 2. My «fish and chips» came out cold. The fries were the frozen crinkle fries that tasted like freezer burn. 3. I’ve never sent a meal back in my life, until now. The replacement fish and chips were STILL cold and you could tell the fish and chips were microwaved as it was soggy and you could see the wetness on the«fried» fish. 4. My husbands medium well burger was red inside and looked like a frozen hockey puck. Seriously the worst restaurant we have ever gone to in our lives. Which is a shame and waste of water front dinin

Labor Day weekend and the place is empty but it’s a nice spot with outside seating overlooking small marina. Food was average but staff was excellent. Would definitely come again.

When I first walked into this place I was skeptical because it was a Friday night and there was an insane amount of empty tables for 8:00 p.m. I decided to give it a shot anyway. The restaurant is right on the water with a good view. The service was very good. Our waitress was great and attentive. The food was good but mediocre. Several of my party members said their food was salty. The portion sizes for the price were really small. Like incredibly small for what you should expect. Overall this place was mediocre. I would go back again if I really needed to find something to eat and every other place was packed.

Hands down, worst restaurant that I have ever been to in Cape Cod… terrible food. super high prices. small portions.expensive soft drinks with no refills. calamari had a burnt shrimp and a french fry on the plate… spent $ 75 on a chicken plate and a linguini plate… I suggest you go to see for yourself… I thought I was on a hidden camera show… It is going to take awhile for this wound to heal.

Came here for lunch and we are the only customers. She ordered a sparkling wine, got Pinot. Looking for the waitress but nobody is around. Ordered the calamari appetizer. The calamari was great. The marinara sauce was bland, like canned spaghetti sauce. The chicken sandwich was bland, saved only by the bacon. Who uses iceberg lettuce? The crab cakes were frozen, though we were told that everything was fresh. You could taste the freezer burn. Another review mentioned kitchen nightmares. I agree, this place is a perfect candidate for the show, as this place is in it’s death throes.

Long wait for food it wasn’t even fair at best. Service was horrible had to go looking for waitress for water. We were there over a hour before they brought bread and we had to ask for it then. First night dinner here a flop.

Where do I start, my buddies and I stopped in for a quick bite. I ordered chicken fingers, my plate had drips of grease, tenders were your run of the mill frozen shit out of the freezer. Accompanying the frozen shit, was a pleasant iceberg salad sprinkled with diced green and red peppers, 2 carrots and 2 — as they tried to make it better, but failed. My buddy ordered a medium rare filet mignon and it came out well. The rest of his sides tasted okay at best and all for the great price of $ 35, haha, are you kidding me? The prices are way to high for the quality of food you receive. I could go on and on, basically this restaurants only hope is to be on an episode of kitchen nightmares, because its either that or getting their shit together, regardless, I won’t ever stop here again.

A good restaurant with a nice view of the marina at Pier 7 in South Yarmouth. The food is tasty, although the lobsters are a bit overpriced.

OK. I rarely give bad reviews because in general, I choose not to go to bad places. Even though I am from the cape and grew up there for over 20 years, I still don’t know the in’s and out’s of each town. We were here for a wedding and starving and didn’t know of many options… nor did I have the internet most of the time to do my thorough Unilocaling. I settled for this. You walk in and the place is HUGE and tacky. I don’t really care or judge on décor cause even tacky places can have a cool vibe but this place didn’t. It just seemed dated and moldy in all aspects. Our service was really slow despite it being dead. I felt like the girl just didn’t want to be there. Everyone I was with was from the Midwest or Arizona so they were all really excited about lobster rolls and other fun stuff you get when on the Cape. I warned them about certain things you ask about seafood including if the lobster is fresh or frozen. We asked and were told it was fresh. Honestly, it didn’t taste great or fresh. Everyone else didn’t mind the flavors but I think it was a combo of not knowing what fresh lobster tastes like and being starving. We had chowder which wasn’t bad — not the best. I had a stuffed quahog since the group had never had one and I was excited for them to see and eat one. Well this was a small stuffy to start and it was deep fried… who deep fries a stuffy!!! It was hard as a rock and tasted like shit. Someone got a side of rice that we shared and it was hard — as in not cooked and cold. I would not recommend this place nor would I ever go back here.

Forgot the graham cracker rim on the key lime pie martini… that sucked and I didn’t feel like asking for it. Ate outside, okayl view of the docks. Had some apps, just average, nothing to freak out about. Go there for a drink on the deck and the view.

Ew! My fiancée and I have been on a date night every week since moving to the Cape as we wanted to experience all our new town has to offer. Tonight we chose Skippy’s Pier 1, as it looks so cute on the exterior and boy was that a mistake! The service was slow, the food was gross, the view was mediocre and the atmosphere was a tourist trap with no actual tourists. The waiter was nice enough, it just took a very long time to get our food. We ordered the steak tips and short rib, which were both mediocre at best. We both had mashed potatoes that tasted like they were from the box and had NO flavor. I tried my best to doctor them with the sauce, salt and pepper, but they were so gross that I couldn’t salvage them! At the end of dinner, we got a bill of $ 72 for an appetizer and two meals. NOT worth it at all. Typically we shell out that kind of money with a smile on our face because we are satisfied, but this evening, we are full of gross food and dissatisfied. Overall, I would skip this place. As a new local, avoid it at all costs!
