Great pizza! No need to drive to New Haven anymore! The pizzas are huge. Small is like a medium in most pizza places. They must be doing something right if they are only open wed-sun, 3:30 –9:00. Salads are huge & always nice & cold! .

I’m a big fan of this spot because D&V’s do something that is not always easy to find when searching out pizza places. And that is that they are able to make pizzas that are very tasty, cooked just right and have a firm crust that supports multiple toppings quite well. Many times, a multiple topping pizza is thin crust and sloppy and the toppings fall off when you pick up the hot slice. Not here. You get a little bit of topping in every bite and it’s what you want in a pizza. Plus it’s a different experience than traditional New Haven style pizza. I define D&V’s pizza as a cross between brick oven thin crust and the thicker, greek style firm crust. I prefer New Haven style but there are times I want the greek consistency and I can get a mixture of both here. So when I’m looking for a change from the excellent new haven style thin crust I come to D&V’s and they always come through.

I use to work at Vinnys first and foremost RiP joe Nigro probably one of the greatest souls I’ve had the pleasure of cooking with and he will never be forgotten, but back to the food, it is great pizza at a great price, the dough is made fresh and the sausage is epic! I was honored to be part of the sausage crew that made it for all locations, along with Joe and the owners, but best sausage and pepper pizza ever!!! Everything there is good and they only do pizza so they focus on their product! Fantastico! And if you want a cooking position you couldn’t find a nicer group to work with! I will remember them forever!!! Thanks guys it was a blast! Btw this is Adam Amato posting this, I’ll always owe u guys for the experience :-)

Vinnies is outstanding. The pies are consistently delicious. Pepperoni and cheese are my favorites, but the sausage and peppers is also good. I love that the pizza is cut in squares. The crust is on the thinner side already, but you can request it «thin crust» if you want it new haven style thin. All in all I highly recommend Vinnies!

I cannot believe I’ve been living in Southington since 2003 and have just now tried Domenic and Vinnie’s Pizza! Wow what I have been missing! I’m a fan of New Haven style thin crust pizza and have yet to find a place around the Southington area that compares. I think D&V’s comes very close! They have several sizes available. The largest one is actually a square pizza. Both the large and medium(round pizza) are cut into squares. I cannot attest to the small pizza because I haven’t ordered one. The pizza was amazing! Just be aware that if you would like New Haven style pizza, you must specifically request«thin crust». The bacon, spinach and mushroom pizza we’ve ordered each time was *covered* in crispy pieces of bacon. Not sure how many pigs had to sacrifice themselves for the large pizza but I whole-heartedly thank them! Be aware that they do NOT deliver! Pickup or dine in only folks. I can see why… the place gets pretty busy and there are worker bees everywhere! Must be hard to keep up with the orders but they manage to do so. Oh and the pizza comes in a large paper bag, inflated at the top so the pizza doesn’t stick. The biggest downfall of this that I can see is that if you order more than one, you can’t stack them in your car. Not sure if they have a solution to this since I’ve only ordered one at a time so far. If you’ve never tried this place, you owe it to yourself to check it out. You won’t be disappointed!

This is one of my favorite pizzas in Southington! Granted I am from New Haven, but this is a solid pizza. It seems like they may have a lot going against them: no delivery, limited menu(pizza and salad), they give you your pizza in a paper bag, and they cut the pizza in squares vs slices. All this said, the pizza is pretty delicious and fast, so you really won’t care. My favorite pizza is a bacon/spinach/mushroom. They have the best bacon I have ever had on a pizza. It is crispy, cut small enough, and they put a ton of it on the pizza. The smell is intoxicating and I think we had a pack of dogs chasing our car on the way home. The ingredients are well balanced, however I wish they used fresh mushrooms vs canned. Everything else was so wonderful, then to get the canned mushroom was kind of a bummer. Also, make sure you ask for a thin crust if that’s what you like, because the regular pizza can be a bit doughy for the thin crust lover. You may also need to chuck the pizza in the oven when you get home since the bag doesn’t insulate it. All this said, I still might drive down in a snowstorm to get one of their pizzas!

Ooooh. I am sooo stuffed. I just polished off 2⁄3 of a small meatball/pepperoni and onion pie from D&Vs. Been here twice now. Once I ate in, this time, got the pie to go. Both times, the pie was… PERFECT. Thin, crisp crust with a nice coat of flour dust. Sauce is both sweet and spicy, with a nice touch of fresh basil. The mozzarella is fresh and not too gooey. Toppings are generous and tasted great. Listen, I’m from Jersey. I lived in Brooklyn. And I can tell you, this is a great great pizza place. For my money, the best in the area.

I order here for work. The owner is a great guy! Pizza is delicious! I order the huge square(sicilian) pies. Nice sauce, perfect amount of cheese, and delicious crust!

I can’t believe that people think that this pizza can come close to being labeled as the best in Southington. It is oily pizza with consistency of something out of the frozen section of the grocery store. With so many options for pizza in the area, I don’t understand the decision to eat here.

This place and it’s sister restaurants serve excellent square pizza but it is not Greek style. This is Italian pizza made with fresh, quality ingredients. Pizza and salad are the only items on the menu and they put all their energy and effort into making these items the best they can be. The salads are crisp, cold and fresh and delicious and the pizza is way above average. They are only open Wed.-Sun and do occasionally run out of dough so be aware. Calling ahead is always a good idea.

BESTPIZZAAROUND If you read the reviews of people who say its overcooked its because they dont understand Vinnies. If you dont want your crust crispy you need to tell them LIGHTBAKE. You will have fantastic pizza whether you choose light bake or not. Recommend their cheese and also their sausage. And after 3p their take out gets VERYVERYBUSY. People call right at 3 to get orders!

This place was busy at 4:00PM on a Saturday. That right there let me know something good was going on inside. When I entered, the smell of the pizza was like a delicious punch in the face. I litterally became hungry the minute I stepped in the door. It’s nice and clean inside and noticably devoid of the usual paintings of canals, villas, and old men drinking wine that generally dominate the décor of pizza places. Clean and comfortable the way I like it. I ordered the Special, which is pretty much everything on one pizza.(Even Anchovies). The pizza was square, which made me dubious, but otherwise it looked amazing. The crust was thin and crisp and had a little char on it that showed they care about that authentic touch. The pizza was delicious, and I even had it for breakfast this morning. Check them out. I had a great experience here and will go back soon.

I went back to this pizza restaurant last night. Overall everything remained the same. Staff was polite and respectful. Place smelled amazing. I knew the pizza was good so I had no worries. Prices are still very reasonable. Pies average a bit larger than most restaurants. Difference with this time I was getting take out. I forgot that they served up the pizza with a cardboard bottom and brown paper bags so that was my mistake. However, driving it back to Bristol left the pizza somewhat room temperature by the time we ripped open the bag. Had it been in a box it would have stay hot. Transportation of the pizza was also a big headache as there is no support for the pizza in the bag. Stacking is not an option as the pizza would be crushed. I was in a sports car and room was not available which meant was was holding both pies in. One on my knee and one in my hands. Kind of a hassle. Other than that, the pizza was very good. I ordered a medium clam and bacon pizza and a medium sausage and onion. The crust in my opinion is very good. It is a thin crust and very tasty and chewy on the inside. The clam was not overpowering the bacon. Only thing I’d ask for is a bit more garlic. The sausage and onion was good. Meat was very flavorful, however the onion was next to raw. I prefer a caramelized onion on my pizza. I will never get take out from there again because the bags ruin it for me. I will be back but this will be a dine in only restaurant for me at this point.

Vinnie’s Pizza is the real deal! Eating this pizza is almost, dare I say it, a sexual experience. The best pizza in CT? Abso-FREAKIN-lutely!!! Nice thin, crispy and delicious crust. Awesome sauce and, in my opinion, more sauce than a typical pizza place puts on their pie. They don’t deliver but I will gladly drive to them to get it. Hell, I’ll walk on my hands and knees in the snow for a take out order. Okay, okay, maybe not hands and knees in the snow, but I’d consider it. It’s just that good. Try it sometime.

This is the best pizza I have ever had, and I’ve had a lot. I’m the kind of person that would drive an hour for good food… I’ve been to NYC for pizza, and met disappointment. Vinnie’s never disappoints. Just thinking about the their sausage is making my mouth water… the sauce is flavorful. The crust, just right!

It’s funny. I love Vinnie’s pizza but I have friends who don’t. The crust is crisp and firm. The sauce is bold and flavorful(my wife and I order with a little extra sauce) the sausage is house made, cheese is perfect, not a huge glob like some pizza. Yes it comes in a paper bag, I like the paper bag and yes it’s cut into squares, they will pie cut it for you if you ask them to, they will even cook it well done or however you want it. There s no shortage of pizza joints in Southington, to me Vinnie’s rises above the rest.

Vinnie’s has the best PIE I have ever tasted!!! I have been eating it for years. The menu is simple cause they do one thing perfect and that’s PIZZA! There only open a certain amount of time out of the week, and that’s what makes you crave it even more! Smart Thinking! You can have it cooked anyway you like. The sauce is fantastic and the toppings are top quality. Piping hot out of the bag or cold the next day its a Damn good pizza.

what is this place called? the sign on the road and building say«Domenic’s and Vinnie’s». some of the others just says«Vinnie’s Pizza». i guess that doesn’t really matter though. The rest of the sign says«Pizza The Way It Was Meant To Be». do they mean — SQUARE? Ok. a co-worker that lives near vinnies has hyped this place up for years and never mentioned the pizza is thin and square or came in paper bags. their hours are pretty non-standard too — 3:30PMTILCLOSE. I tried to go here a few times for lunch, but no luck unless i took a really late lunch. It’s too bad because I would eat this pizza often if they were open for lunch. I ordered my large cheese pie($ 17, not too pricey but not cheap). and waited 15 minutes for it to get cooked. While i waited a lot of orders came in on the phone and lots of people picked up their pizzas. By the time i was leaving the time for a pizza was 45 mins. — they are popular at vinnie’s. as i mentioned — they don’t use those bulky cardboard boxes like every other pizzeria — they give it to you in a big brown paper bag. my pizza was pretty good, not the best i have ever had and i do know i need to go back and eat in the restaurant — taking it to go in a brown paper bag probably made it a little less awesome. the crust was good, crisp, not too thick and stood up to reheating without turning to a rock the next day. the sauce was a little on the tomato pastey side with an interesting after-kick and an initial sweetness, not very typical. the cheese was a nice chewyness, lots of dense cheese coverage on the pie. overall, ordering take out with a 20+ min drive and the pie was A-OK, and next time this will probably be a 4 or 5 star pie in-house. they take charge cards, and they dont have a website.

I have no idea why the other reviewer said it was the best pizza in the state — because it’s barely«average». I can think of at least 5 other pizza places in Southington alone that have better pizza(Randy’s, the Fire Place, etc.)

honestly the best pizza you will find around this part of the state… all they have is pizza and salad, you can either eat in or take it to go… no delivery, but it’s worth the drive. go there and you will be hooked!
