Great buffet! My wife and I have been here a few times and it’s become our favorite buffet. Food is always delicious and they have a great variety. Sushi rolls are hand rolled right in front of you and the atmosphere of the the dining area doesn’t feel super cramped like other buffets.

This was a nightmare for anyone with food allergies. There is milk & mayonnaise in all but 3 of the sushi offerings. The labels on the buffet don’t match the food beneath them. The Mongolian Grill is your best assurance of being able to control what you will be eating. But, it is essential to supervise the grill Master as he started with butter! There is gluten in all but the most naked food items. The most interesting item I found, and tasty, was the lychee jello! There are plenty of fresh fruit & salad items, but that’s not what I was hoping for when I came to a Chinese restaurant. If you have no allergies, and enjoy buffet, then you will probably enjoy the Canaan Buffet. They have many offerings and the 6 other people in our group gave a 50:50 review. They all enjoyed something quite delicious and surprising. But sadly, everyone also found items they would not finish after the first bite.

Living in North Idaho my standards for Chinese buffets have been pretty low. Visiting North Spokane area I noticed good consistent reviews on Unilocal and decided to try it. Food here was outstanding and place was the clean. It was a Sunday lunchtime but dinner prices applied $ 13.99 for adults all day. I almost left when I heard the price upon entering however the place had good ambiance and was very crowded(a good sign for buffets) so I splurged. Food seemed fresh and well stocked. Sushi was excellent with a large selection from what I’m used to. Crab legs were delicious. The cook to order grill offered steak, chicken, beef, shrimp, eggs, noodles and fresh veggies — well worth the wait in the line. The guy in front of me had a heaping plate of shrimp and recommended the shrimp with garlic and butter which I did and was rewarded with the best tasting shrimp ever. I look forward to my next visit here soon!

Food is great and customer service is 100% better than the 1st time we ate here. Could use a bit more cleaning.

We always enjoy visiting this buffet when we are on the North side of Spokane. It is clean and the service staff is kind. We enjoy the uplifting Christian music and knowing that we are supporting ministry even while we are being spoiled with great food. The sushi used to be so-so but the last couple of visits we were impressed. The buffet is large and the salad bar fresh and well stocked with REAL greens. The main food items are fresh and tasty and we always walk away feeling like we’ve had a real treat. Try the pork dumplings, bok choy, and fried rice! We will look forward to visiting Canaan Buffet again next time our travels take us North! :)

Honestly this place is our go to buffet place– I love Asian food and even thought it’s not too of the l Line sit down Asian food I feel like it is great for what it is buffet food. I always get sushi and if your lucky and the sushi chef is there she is sometimes willing to make what you want. I enjoy the grill just wish they had a little bit more variety but hey. We are talking about a buffet. Overall we call this place our go to buffet especially when we want to eat out but are on a tight budget as it is priced really fair. We’ve met and talk with the owners every time we go and they really are amazing people and open to suggestions.

The food was ok, nothing spectacular. My favorite Chinese buffet has closed so we thought we would give this one a try. Nothing bad, just nothing outstanding, except for the service. Our server cleared the table quickly each time anyone had an empty plate, she kept our water and beverage glasses full. Best service I have had at a buffet! I thought it was a bit pricy, but then again they did have shrimp two ways and crab. The sushi was good. If I go back I will try the Mongolian BBQ(when we got there no one was operating that station, they showed up as we were leaving).

so once again my husband talked me into A Chinese food buffet. I was ready to just eat salad bar until we went here. The place was very clean and the hostess was very friendly and helpful. Their noodle station had oodles of fresh vegetables to choose from to have cooked for you with noodles while you wait. There was a large variety of entrees and sides on their buffet. Overall the food was very good, tasty, and abundance of choices. The down side was the dishes were not clearly labeled as to what was on the Buffett and the ice tea I ordered and was charged for was very weak and barely colored water. We will come here again.

We are a group of Asian Seniors visited Spokane on August 14 and 15th. Half of our people, 57, ate at the Canaan Buffet on the 14th and the other half, also 57, ate there on the 15th. All of us haf enjoyed the food and everyone left the restaurant with a BIGSMILE! Not only all hot food were hot and delicious, the green vegetables actually showed its color GREEN! Besides the food, the service was excellent, too. The hostess as well all waitress were very courteous and friendly. Canaan Buffet is FANTASIC! Thank you for making our trip more enjoyable!

WOW! What a fantastic buffet! My husband and I went on Saturday at lunch time, and we loved Canaan Buffet! It was 100x better than Hong Kong Buffet in the Valley. The food was all hot and delicious, and such a great variety! They even had sushi and a Mongolian grill! We also loved the atmosphere with the koi pond at the entry, the 3-D paper/cork booth divider scenery, and the table top print of an ancient Chinese town. My husband and I were very impressed, and for $ 8.99 a person at lunch, it was a great deal!

Basic buffet… many choices but little flavor. Wonton soup very blah with extremely soggy dumplings. Mac n cheese water/soup?(Not sure) Peanut chicken very crispy and dry. Service was fine. 6 p.m. visit

This place is so hit or miss. But when they miss, they miss huge. It’s very expensive, unless you get the lunch special. Food is soggy and flavorless. I don’t understand how their sushi passes as sushi also. The staff on the other hand is so nice and welcoming. Restaurant is always clean and smiles all around.

This place is alright. It’s spacious and clean, but the food isn’t anything to go crazy over. Its just decent. The prices are ok, for me and my boyfriend at lunch it only costed $ 33 and that’s not too bad at all for a buffet. I just wasn’t super impressed with the service or food. I don’t think I’ll be rushing back here.

We brought a group of 175 high school students in three large buses. We arrived earlier than expected but the food was ready and fresh and delicious. I feel like I have pretty high standards for restaurants. I’ll admit I was dubious about this place. It was truly delicious and the experience was overall excellent. Thanks.

I really wanted this place to be good. Anything that wasn’t fried was foul, over salted, and just down right disappointing. Two stars were for a decent price and helpful/nice staff. Avoid the fish, I have a feeling I’ll be paying dearly for that choice.

How this place has good ratings is beyond me. Aside from having pretty good sushi for a buffet of this type, everything else was mediocre. The egg drop soup had no flavor, and was orange. ORANGE. What is… I don’t… why? I went there based on the reviews here on Unilocal, and feel like it was a huge mistake. The only thing saving this place from a 1 star is the sushi, and if I could rate 0 stars it’d be only a 1 star. :(Though I will say the interior was decorated lovely. The staff was kind of intimidating, the waitress stared at us a lot and looked pretty pissy.

My parents have a weird fascination with buffets. It’s like they moved to Spokane, decided they needed a hobby, and chose buffet dining. Not even buffet dining in a casino, just run of the mill strip mall buffet browsing. On a recent trip up to Spokane to visit them, they suggested an Asian buffet they found. After we realized there was no way we could say no, they dropped the fact that it was 30 minutes away from their house. Ugh I thought. After the trek out to Canaan Buffet, we walked in from the frigid, terrible Spokane weather and were greeted with a large water feature full of healthy looking koi. I was unable to determine if the koi are being farmed for the sushi buffet section of Canaan. As a veteran of many an Asian buffet, I was pleasantly surprised with Canaan’s selection. They go way beyond the normal buffet fare of General Tso’s and Chicken with Mixed Vegetables. I had positive experiences with the jalapeño chicken, duck curry and a few of the sushi options. The snow crab legs and crawfish were both over steamed and had rubbery shells, but they tasted OK. The service was helpful, the décor was tastefully garish, and pricing was low for what you got. In the realm of possible terrible experiences that could have arisen from my parents saying«Let’s get Asian buffet», this was one of the better outcomes.
