Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers

Love Freddie’s! Food is fantastic and the fry sauce is to die for. Love the seasonal pumpkin pie concrete. Super friendly atmosphere and clean tables. So glad to have one close to home.

The closest thing to an In-​N-​Out burger in Houston. Everything is fresh and tasty. Good service. We asked the manager if they use MSG in their seasonings and he showed us the allergen list and confirmed the entire restaurant is MSG-​free.

I would have totally given this place 5 stars but the reason I didn’t is because their accuracy, every time I go they never get my order right, I order a chili cheese dog and I never get cheese. Or I order a cheeseburger and don’t get cheese. They don’t want me to eat cheese lol. I love cheese and the cheese blockers can’t stop me… Okay pretty cheesy I know

Sorry to see all of the negative comments on here. We LOVE this place. We have only ever tried the burger and fries but have always had a good experience!

I drove 20mins because my niece wanted Freddy’s. There were mice running around near the dumpster which is expected but the number of mice was alarming. On the way home I noticed they forgot my custard. The drinks weren’t filled all the way, the lemonade was basically tap water the burgers burnt and dry. The manager said they were supposed to be that way. We threw it away, it was not even edible. To say I want my money back is an understatement. Their corporate office called and offered me a gift certificate to Freddy’s, I declined.

Really great burger without much fuss. They call it 2 patties, but together they are the size of a normal 1 patty, so don’t fret the whole «OMG, it’s 2 patties» freak out mode and just enjoy them.
Great burger, but so not a fan of the fries. You get a large portion, but they are so thin you need about 4 to equal the size of a normal fry. So I spent so much time trying to find 4 fries of the same size and dipping fry after fry into one of the dipping sauces that not only did they go cold, but the burger went cold as well.
The best thing is if there were a Wendy’s next door so I could get a burger from Freddy’s and the fries from Wendy’s. Hey, I guess that means I’d rather have a Freddy’s burger than a Wendy’s burger.
I also had a frozen custard. It was velvety smooth and very good flavor. I had mine topped with warm fudge and cashews. The portions were perfect so I had chocolate and nuts in every bite.
Nice staff, clean place. Just small fries.

This is one of my favorite fast food joints at the moment. I love going in the restaurant itself and eating there because I love the whole diner feel. I also enjoy their food A LOT. I’m a big desserts person and their big array of selections makes me immensely happy. My family and I got so obsessed with their sauce (even though it’s like ketchup and mayonnaise combine) that we bought the bottle itself cause why not. And for my aunt’s birthday we actually got one of their custard ice cream cakes and we all died over it. I recommend this to everyone I meet, again because why not.

Burgers are pretty legit for a fast food joint. Ice cream is stellar and very good. I don’t visit fast food joints, but to me I guess it rates up there with smash burger and 5 guys.

EVERYTHING is good here. I love the seasoning on the fries. The burgers are awesome and very filling. The dirt and worms is my favorite as far as custard goes. You can’t go wrong coming here!

Freddy’s has some great concrete, they are my favorite item on the menu by far. Last night, I tried a steak burger and it was pretty good. The burger was a little dry and they over did the mustard a tad but it might just be the way it was done by a specific person. The three stars is for the overpriced meals and the slow service at the window. May try the food again, but will be back for Dirt N Worms for sure!

Had a FANTASTIC experience here today. The staff was super friendly and helpful! Everything was absolutely perfectly done, and the girl who made my Pumpkin Pie Concrete made sure it was perfect and gave it great attention to details that matter.

I’m sorry S&S. You are no longer number one in my book of diner type, grilled steakburger restaurants. This place is no joke, and I literally ordered the wrong thing, took a bite of my wife’s burger and that alone won me over!
Get the original steakburger! It’s exactly what a thin pattie grilled burger should taste like! The fries were thin, and crispy! On the side definitely try their Fry sauce and seasoning. Their Fry sauce is one of the best I’ve had and the seasoning on top of the fries is a must! Don’t forget to get a concrete or sundae to wash it all down.

So there are so many reviews here. So this review is going to help the transplants here to Houston, specifically the Mid Westerners.
Growing up in Chicago, steak and shake is a late night staple. A night of drinking or bored at home you go there for some thin fried and $ 4 burgers. This is as close as your going to get to steak and shake here! (Unless you make the hour drive over to the select couple in the Houston area.)
I personally love these types of burgers. Simple thinner pressed flat top cooked. I ordered the single and the fiancé ordered the double. We both added lettuce and tomato because I believe they said they usually only come with cheese, mustard, onion, and pickle. Which I’m so happy they add the others on at no charge! It’s super adorable just like our beloved steak and shake. They also have custards (was to full to try though but will save room next time!)
The staff was super friendly and the young lady taking our order could tell we were newbies and was so nice making sure to confirm what we wanted on the burgers as we had no idea what came on them! Lol
I love the thin season fries the burger comes with and you get a huge portion with your burger (couldn’t even finish mine, but I go out to eat with my garbage disposal so nothing goes to waste.)
Ooo and they have fry sauce! I thought it was good, but the fiancé loved it. It taste like a mix of dill pickle juice, ketchup, and mayo. And they keep it next to the extra seasoning for the fries.
And I CANNOT forget to mention they have Vienna hotdogs! I didn’t get it this time around, but you other Chicagoans or mid west people might be going through some withdrawals such as I am, so I have to go back for that as well!

Very friendly service, good tasting food, plentiful portions, extremely clean and happy atmosphere with good music at just the appropriate volume level. The custard was so delicious that I had to eat it before the meal!

I was happy to find Freddie’s opened at 10:30am! I was in mood for an early lunch. They are so friendly and food is always served quickly. Freddie’s sauce is a must when you have any of their Steakburgers.
I highly recommend for a quick stop that’ll fill you up and won’t cost a lot. Love the clean environment and sweet staff!

I tried Freddy’s for the first time with some friends after catching a movie recently and overall I enjoyed the whole experience.
I did not know what to expect so when my boyfriend and I decided to order, we chose a few more items than we would normally order to test out their menu. We got the combo meal #4 which included a single steak burger, hot dog, and fries, and combo #5 the original double patty melt with fries, and I’m glad we did.
– ³⁄₅ for the steak burgers = the patties are very thin but still good
– ⁴⁄₅ for the hot dogs = what made their hotdogs was the toasted bread… YUmM!
– ³⁄₅ for the double patty melt = delicious but I like Whataburger’s better
– ⁵⁄₅ fries = I love the thin cut, well-​seasoned, and fried perfectly fries! And a generous amount as well!
Staff were friendly & helpful, and I’d come again to try out more on the menu especially the desserts.

We have eaten here about 3 times. I think it is very good and the fries are real skinny with a salt pepper garlic type seasoning. The biggest draw for us is they have a veggie burger that my daughter likes. She is my little vegetarian and gets tired of grilled cheese at every burger joint. I would also mention that every time we have been there the employees really work hard at good customer service.

Just had my 2^nd experience at Freddy’s/Spring, Texas.1^st time was in Tucson, Az. Both were consistent in excellence of food and service. I really liked the way the meat is thin and hangs over the sides. I will continue to feed my face at this wonderful burger place. Wow! I’m a poet and didn’t even know it.

The food is great and the customer service is all on point! The wait for the food did not take long and it is very busy. The workers are nice, smiling faces and they make me feel like I’m at home. The best thing about coming here for food is that you can see them preparing your meals and deserts as well. I would definitely recommend this location to my family and friends!

What can I say about Freddy’s? It isn’t your traditional HUGE patty burger. They have thin sliced burger patties that are very tasty. Their fries are always fresh, crunchy, and salty. Just the way I like them! I don’t normally like shoe string fries but these were very tasty. But my favorite item? Their hot dogs!!! They have that buttery bun (like Texas toast) with them and they are beef! Their custards were also good and they have a good variety.
Some of the Cons though, you may have to stay away during lunch and the weekends. There are large booths, too many if you ask me, that take up a lot of seating. There are only a few stand alone tables. So with that being said, this place gets packed!!! So packed to where you aren’t even sure if you’ll be able to get a table. They do have a small outdoor area with 5 tables that are open. We took our dog and she sat right next to us.
Open up some seating and you will get 5 stars!

I finally tried Freddy’s Steak burger and I was greatly disappointed, mostly with the horrible quality and taste if the burger. I revived my burger and it looked like there was no meat but upon further inspection I realized there was a paper thin (no exaggeration) piece of what may have been meat but looked more like the remnant left over scraped off the flat grill. I asked a employee if that was the way it should look and her reply was «are meat is thin».
I can without any hesitation recommend DO NOT bother eating at Freddy’s unless of course you are a vegetarian.
