Applebee’s

Chantel was great! Very attentive and super sweet! Our food came out quick and hot. Had the Chicken and Shrimp skillet with sweet potato fries and the fries are some of the best when done right.

Good was good however waitress was always amiss. Never once came by to check on me. Slow with refills to the point I was going to melt the ice for water. Never once thought about the customer and even took her sweet time in processing the bill for my visit. All in all. Food was matching the price how ever the wait staff needs to put the customers first and not be gossiping in the back

My only complaint about this Applebee’s location was that the host refused to sit use at the booth next to where we were actually sat. The booth we got was very dark & we could barely read our menus. He would not sit a the booth next to it (which was next to an open window) because that section was «closed». Then 5 mins later sat a couple at the very table that I asked for. Not cool.
But other than that, our server Stevie was great. She was very nice & took very good care of us.

We decided to eat at Applebee’s on the North side of Springfield on Saturday the 26^th of September. It was around 5:30 to 6 pm when we arrived at the restaurant only to find that they were having a «Car Show» in their parking lot and surrounding restaurants parking lots. Because of this we expected it to be crowded but decided to stay and eat anyway. After a 45 minute wait, which we were told would be 20 minutes, we were finally seated at a very low table in the bar section of the restaurant. There were people all around the bar filtering over closely toward our table, as though they were going to join us for dinner. On all of the other tables they had a trivia/​menu machine but our table was, as the waitress called it an «Add-​in» and did not have this machine. All we had on our table was a mismatched salt and pepper shaker… no silverware or napkins, and the table was sticky. The noise in the restaurant was so loud that it felt like a rock concert was going on, making it impossible for my husband and I to have any type of dinner conversation. The waitress came over and offered us a special cocktail and to take our drink order, but at this point we were starving and ready to eat, therefore we ordered our meal. It took another 45 minutes to get our meal to the table. I had ordered a medium rare bourbon street steak and my husband ordered shrimp. This meal was a 2 for 25 dollars selection and came with an appetizer of Spinach/​Artichoke dip and chips. When we received the appetizer, it had very few chips and an extremely small bowl of Spinach/​artichoke dip with hardened post-​melted cheeses lump on top. Salsa also accompanied this appetizer. We were so hungry that we ate the cold dip and sparse chips and salsa. Upon waiting another 25 minutes we finally received our meals. Unfortunately my medium rare steak was well done and my mashed potatoes were ICE cold. My husband’s dinner was also cold. When we told the waitress that the dinner was sub-​par she offered to remake it. We refused because it had taken so long to get the dinner in the first place. We di not want to wait another 25 minutes to get another unacceptable meal. We have eaten at Applebee’s on the South side of Springfield many time and have NEVER experienced this horrible food and crowded, loud, lowbrow atmosphere. If we decide to go to Applebees again it will be on the South side of Springfield and not the North Glenstone store. To sum it up… the food was uneatable, the waitress was uninterested and slow and the atmosphere was much like a biker bar that was over crowded. I will not go back to this Applebee’s.

Applebee’s is always a sentimental favorite of mine. It’s where my wife and I had our first date. I love the food, and love the service we always get. The prices are fair, and if you catch the bartender on not such a busy night, you don’t get over poured (burned drinks). Love the new trivai game they have on the tables too by the way.

We try to avoid Applebee’s (this one or any other). However, we were given a gift card for Christmas and finally got around to using it, even though we live so close. They did not disappoint in their disappointment.
Service was ok minus what I assumed was a very long smoke break in the middle of our meal. The food was bland. The spinach dip was god-​awful. For the main courses ketchup and steak sauce on everything seemed to make it all edible. Also the portions were small for the prices.
It was only ok because it was mostly a free meal. Although the few dollars out of pocket I had to spend, after the gift card was ran, was irritating. As I have had better food out of a can.

We won’t be bothering to eat here anymore. Every time we attempt to, we end up regretting it. The food has gotten worse and worse! Last night we arrived at 10:45pm to get some appetizers. We were seated, waited and waited. Finally after about 15 min she came and took our drunk order. We got up and left. Horrible service, horrible food. What a disappointment!

It’s hard to call this place a restaurant. Applebee’s is really just a simple bar with food that is designed to be washed down with alcohol.
Don’t come here if you want a good meal. I had a Bourbon Cajun steak with fries that was bland and forgettable. No hint of Bourbon or any spiciness to it. It did have grill marks on it which I’m sure were burned on beforehand. I mean, I wouldn’t be surprised if all the food was pre-​made, frozen and then heated (not cooked) when ordered. I also had the Malibu margarita and I couldn’t taste any alcohol. Probably watered down to save money. Steak, fries & margarita = $ 22 + tip
I was looking over other peoples’ food to see how theirs came out. I saw 1 guy who had nachos and all it was was lots of lettuce, tomatoes and tiny little specs of chicken on top of, presumably, cheap GMO chips. I saw another guy who ordered an artichoke dip with chips and it couldn’t have tasted any better than it looked.
The only reason I came here was because it was the only place that was open and I was hungry. Anything else would have been better.
I’m rating 2 stars because the service was good enough and I didn’t see anything unsanitary, but I will never waste my time with another Applebee’s again. It’s just not worth your time or money. Try ANYTHING else.

I stopped in because culvers closed before I could walk through the doors and I really wanted desert. I ordered the triple chocolate meltdown and was not at all impressed. It was over cooked, or should I say over heated, and had a burnt flavor. I probably would have felt better about it, but the ice cream was not good at all either. At least the milk tasted good and the staff was super friendly and helpful.
I’ve been to applebees before (different locations) and was never impressed with the food. It’s as average as a lower scale diner. If you don’t know what GOOD food is, you’ll probably like their food just fine, but you’re not likely to be wowed.
Applebees is off my list of options unless I’m too hungry to wait and nothing else is open. Oh yeah, and I have money to waste. I think I forgot to mention their food is over priced.

One of my favorite places to eat. Food is good, atmosphere is good. Long story short great place to sit down and enjoy great food with great company.

Applebee’s has a great variety on their menu and I enjoy their 2/​$ 20 or 2/​$ 25 options.
However what upsets me about Applebee’s is I feel they change the menu too often, which can be a good or bad thing depending on how you look at it. All in all the food is mediocre and the service is good.

We had a great experience here during lunch hour on a Saturday. Our party of 8 was promptly accomadated. The food was hot and fresh and the wait time was very reasonable. Our waiter was very attentive. The cons… you pay just as much for lunch portions on the weekend as you do for dinner portions. The portions are large but I’d rather not have a giant portion for lunch and definitely not pay close to $ 15 per person for LUNCH.

Let’s start with the good: the server and sweet potato fries were good.
And now the bad:
I can’t seem to learn my lesson on the steak, don’t order the steak (future Dan if you are reading this, Don’t order the steak, hello McFly!!). My first came out well done, tough, and kind of rubbery. The 2^nd came out sort of medium but it still tasted terrible. My daughter had a corn dog and after the food runner dropped the 1^st one, the 2^nd one came out ice cold! The 3^rd came out about 10 – 15 min later. The manager never came out to talk to us about any of this.

Service was horrible. Our waitress kept flirting with some guy at another table, so we are basically sh*t out of luck for service. Took our order in lightning speed and never bother to check back. So we have to ask other waiter for more coffee and other refills. And one entrée ended up sitting under the heat lamp for a long time because she was too busy chatting with that guy. Food is what you expect… average and small portions.

Don’t waste your time or money going to this restaurant!!! My family and I went to the N. Glenstone location, and the food was terrible. I ordered a pasta alfredo with chicken dish.. the alfredo sauce tasted like they just combined flour and milk and poured it over the pasta.…yuk!!! Another person in our party ordered steak and it was tough. Applebee’s is one place I’ll not go again!!!

Service was slow and not great. It took us forever to get a high chair. Food was OK but over priced for the quality. Only came here because we had gotten a gift. Probably won’t come back.

Half-​off apps after 10p are the only way Applebee’s is worth it. This one’s been renovated recently. Bar tender was good.

Seems like I can always count on Applebee’s to provide great service and great food.

A horrible place to eat service was ok and no food for the price!

I have been in some really terrible Applebees. I have had burnt food, nasty old stale break your teeth chips and all sorts of bad experiences. I had resolved myself to never eating at this chain again then I moved to Springfield. This Applebees was fast and friendly. The food was cooked right and hot. I was amazed because I didn’t know they could do it. I was impressed and will return to this location again.
